I'm not sure, but I know it's not recommended to upgrade to iOS 8 on anything older than an iPhone 5. I only lost my music playlists and music that was on my phone, but that music is also on my iTunes, not the playlists though, and I don't want to go through ALL my iTunes library to fix it either... But it seems I don't have a choice right now.
Whatever you do, do NOT upgrade to iCloud Drive, keep iCloud till OS X Yosemite comes out, if your computer is a Mac. I also just noticed that all my documents on my phone are gone from Pages, BUT if I go on the iCloud website they are still there. Hopefully it will all work itself out when I can update my macbook pro to OS X Yosemite.
If you backed up your phone and all your purchases off your iPhone prior to trying to upgrade you should be fine... But I'm not even remotely sure.

The default installation is to the language of your computer. The various languages are found when you select the alternatives in the installation (don't check continue, but read carefully as you go through the install screens -- the names of the alternative buttons are not clear to most users and are NOT labelled as the classic "custom" button).

Before going to email setup , try registrating your device with your wireless sevice provider .For that :
On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options, or click Settings > Options
For BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 to 5.0, Advanced Options > Host Routing Table >
Press the Menu key and click Register Now
Wait till a Registration messages comes in your message box.

After getting the registration message on your device try setup wizard again.

Help! I synced my iPhone and it deleted all my contacts!

I have iPhone 4 and Office 2010. All my contacts were saved in Outlook 2010. I synced my iPhone on Monday and when it was done, I noticed it had deleted all of my 400+ contacts, both in the iPhone and in Outlook, and replaced them with just three contacts I had added over the weekend. How can this happen and how can I get the contacts back? Someone please help!

If you did not sync after your contacts were deleted, your backup contains your contacts and events. A backup is made every time you sync, but each time you sync, the old backup is replaced with the new one.

If your contacts are still on your computer, use the option to replace the contact info on the phone during the next sync. You can find these settings in the info pane, advanced section when you connect your phone.

Help with Mobileme, iCloud, iPad, iPhone and MS Outlook 2010

WHAT I HAVE NOW
I'm in a bit of mess and don't want to proceed until I can get some answers. I have an iPad, iPhone and a PC (Windows 7). I have a mobileme account also. I also have iCloud Control Panel installed on my PC and recently bought MS Outlook 2010 to migrate from mobileme to iCloud and get this whole synching thing under control. Everything has been updated to the latest versions for iCloud.
I have an att.net email account (ran by Yahoo Pop3), live.com account, hotmail account, gmail account, mobileme account. I have contacts in my most of these email accounts but there are many duplicates and info needs to be updated. With iCloud and mobileme running, I have numerous calendars and can't get any of them synched.
WHAT I WANT
I would like to migrate from mobileme to iCloud and use the iCloud Control Panel and MS Outlook 2010 to synch my mail, contacts and calendars from my PC, iPhone 4s and iPad (version). I only want ONE calendar and ONE contact list. Can there be a MASTER contact list within Outlook 2010 instead of all of these contacts from various email accounts? If so, would I create a master contact list within Outlook 2010 and then go to the various web email programs and delete their contacts? How to I get these calendars under control with one Home calendar?
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR
I started to migrate from mobileme to iCloud but stopped to install MS Outlook 2010 first. I installed MS Outlook 2010 and got all of my email accounts imported even having to manually move the att.net (Yahoo Pop3) messages because the folders and emails within would not transfer from Windows Live Email to Outlook. Currently having problems trying to get the contacts unduplicated and corrected but when I save a newly corrected contact, it disappears. Are these contacts synching as I insert them and then disappearing? Should I go offline to create correct this contact list? What will happen when I add iCloud to the mix? Will I have to go back and correct all duplicates again? Can someone provide the order of these steps to take the least amount of time?
I know this is a lot but it's fairly complicated to me and I also have another person in my house that has a PC, iPad and iPhone for whom I have to do the same thing. Trying to not waste time and do this the right way first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I backed up everything and finally took the leap to migrate from mobileme to iCloud. With a few glitches all seems to be working except that iCloud did not grab the updated and current Contact list from MS Outlook 2010 and seems to have an outdated contact list with only half the number of contacts.
Can someone help me get iCloud to grab the correct contact list out of MS Outlook 2010 so that it can be distributed to my iPad and iPhone also? Thanks!

HELP Difficult question Re: 2 iPhones and an iPod......

Hi. I have an iPhone 4s with iTunes on my computer for years. My daughter has an iPod that was originally set up on her father's computer and with her own AppleID. I just got her an iPhone and want to transfer/sync all her info from the iPod to the iPhone. However, when I connect her phone to my computer it connects to my iTunes account. Even if I sign out and sign back in as her it is still my music shown in the library.
I backed up her iPod to my computer and rstored it to her iPhone. Everything showed up EXCEPT the music. It can be found in iTunes, purchases, music.....but NOT in the music folder on the phone.
Lastly, I would like to maintain our seperate AppleID's but be able to share music we purchase since I am ultimately purchasing all the music anyway.
Here are my questions.....
1) Why am I not seeing her music list when I sign into iTunes as her on my computer? How can I get to her music list?
2) How can I get her music list to show up in the music folder on her iPhone?
3) How can we sign in seperately and see our accounts individually going forward?
4) How can we share music purchased between the 2 AppleID accounts?

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
The abve inslcuded both directly to device and to computer
You can also transfer from device to computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
Note the 90 day period for changing accounts for iCloud purposes. This included redownload
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID

Pls Help - ClassNotFoundException error - custom activity space and control

I am encoutnering the following error when I deploy and run my custom
Login Activity Space and Control to the Java 5.0.2 Portal. I have created a custom Java project and built successfully(I think) using Ant and have modified the customactivityspaces.xml file appropriately. I have checked that the custom jar file is in the portal.war and PORTAL_HOME\lib\java\ folder. Any help with this would be extremely appreciated.

I have a followup question. Now, I get the Login view even though I didn't include a login view in my custom activity space.
I am trying to develop the custom login activity space and don't want to display the default loginview and want to auto login. So I have created a custom activity space and a custom control. I am not sure if I have everything coded correctly yet. How do I make sure I don't display the login view if I go to my custom space directly?
What's the best way to do this? I am still trying to go through the PT code and understand it. Any pointers would be very helpful.
Additionally, for the custom activity space: do I need to extend PlumtreeAS or AActivitySpace ?

HELP!! lost my iphone and my life depends on the info it had

i have lost my iphone 5s and it contains extremely confidential information i cannot emphasize more on this point but my life my family's life depends on it and i had my 'find my iphone' turned on and i have also erased it completely from icloud.com but it said that the iphone will be erased the next time it connects to the internet. i am very helpless at this point and my wife my kids everyone's life is on the line if anyone out there can please get apples attention somehow and please find a way to completely wipe the phone without it having to connect to the internet it would mean everything to me. i have the imei no. of the phone and my icloud email is ****** please help me ...

There is nothing that Apple can do about this. The only way to locate and/or wipe the phone is via Find My iPhone and you have done that. In this last post you state, "give it away", are you referring to giving the thief the passcode? If so, then your data has been compromised. Until the device is connected to the Internet to execute the wipe command, the data is available for the thief to view. Nothing anyone here can say or do can change that. You need to immediately change the passwords for all accounts that were on the phone to help prevent them from accessing them. Report the theft to law enforcement.

Help with Exchange 2007, Active Sync and iPhone 3g - software 2.0.2

Now that's said, is anyone else having 'issues' with this?
I'm on install number ten of Exchange 2007 and god knows how many different variations of trying to connect to it on the phone. I can get OWA working on the phone and via the web both on the phone and via my home pc, i've had Outlook at home working and i've had Outlook at work working. Honestly when it works, it's seamless and very very quick however i'd like it to work for longer than a day and have some faith that it will do so.
What I keep finding is that for some reason, despite nothing changing on the server or the phone is that Active Sync eventually fails and for no apparent reason. The longest i've had it working is just over a day ( yesterday) and last night it packed up again.
I think it's something to do with certificates / dns but that's purely guesswork as I thought i'd fixed it last time by setting up the FQDN to point at both internal and external network cards on our internal network.
I would also like to point out that Exchange2007 has been working perfectly throughout all of this, it's just the iPhone / ActiveSync part that dies - unsurprisingly this is the most important bit for me as that's the bit our sales force will be relying on when we transfer to exchange.
I'm no Mac 'fan' and i'm not that much in love with Windows but there seems to be something amiss between Apple and Microsoft and due to the iPhones complete lack of diagnostic logging further compounded by silent error messages i'm at a loss to find out where / why / when it's breaking.
Is there a 2.0.3 update due which will address this problem?
In the meantime i'm off to install Exchange ..... again, set up security certificates ... again ..... and see if it will fix what's broken .... again

And now it's working!!!
I changed the following in IIS.
Default website - Microsoft Server ActiveSync Properties
virtual directory - read access enabled
directory security - integrated windows authentication, digest authentication, basic authentication enabled
realm - set to mydomain.com
Changed the same things for OWA
That appears to have done the trick but i've been here before so i'll see if it stays working over the weekend.
As a phone ... i'm impressed, as a web enabled device, i'm impressed but as a Corporate Tool ..... i've yet to be impressed, largely due to the complexity of integration into exchange.

Help i cant open my iphone 3gs

any one can help me. my iphone 3gs shut down unexpectedly and its getting hotter even its shut down . i cant open it still.
the last thing i did is i let it standby last night when i woke up it charged it. after 4 hours the phone shut down and never open again. and i observed its is hot
and after that i let it cool i chargd it again but never get connected and in the computer too.
tell me what to do any advice.

try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't help plug it to Itunes and see if you get any message.

Plase help me to open active iphone and idont speak english
