Platform Services migration from 6.1.1 to 6.1.3

Hi,
Did not find anything on migrating from platform services 6.1.1 to 6.1.3.
Do we not need any changes for this migration?
Regards,
Mayank Batra

nothing is needed if we are migrating from version 6.1.1 to 6.1.3 . Right?

  • Web services migration from v10.1.2 to v10.1.3.1

    Hello all!!
I have a service developed with JDeveloper 10.1.2 and deployed to its OC4J local and I would like to migrate it to JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 and deploy it to its OC4J local. I would like to know if it is possible to deploy it without any changes in the code because I have tried to do it but it does not work properly. Could you be so kind as to tell me which steps should I follow, please?
Thank you very much in advance.

Don't know about the embedded OC4J but for a stand alone OC4J read this:

  • Web Service Migration from MX7 to Coldfusion10

I have had very little luck trying to find out how to do this. Recently I have been tasked with moving coldfusion sites to a new server and new version of Coldfusion (Coldfusion10). The webservices on on one server an old sun solaris 5.8 server. I need to move them off of it to our new server a Win 2008 R2 how do I go about doing this do the services need to be set up as a part of the default website in IIS or is there a coldfusion set up I need to have configured instead. I am by no means a Coldfusion guy infact I have not used it before unti a month or so ago so you're dealing with a total rookie. Any advice guides or info you guys can get me would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

I used to just do a global search and replace... but then that was in the old days.

  • Cross platform migration from hp unix to sun

    Hi
recently we have done cross platform migration from hp unix to sun (10g R2 RAC +ASM). It was a challenging experience to complete the migration in 8 hours downtime for a database of about 2 TB.
I would like to share the experience , so that it would be hepfull to others and i would learn more new techniques for improvement .
    source environment:
    HP-UX -ITANIUM - 2 node RAC - 10g R2 - Oracle clusterware - ASM - Heavily loaded all the time .
    Destination Env:
    Sun solaris 10 - 2 node RAC - 10g R2 - Oracle Clusterware - ASM
Total Downtime available : 6 hours.
    Steps followed
    1. snapshot backup of source database on a intermediate HP-Unix box. (stage area)
    2. recover the database and start the rman image backup on to disk in stage area.
    3. mount this filesystem locally (Veritas ) on to one of the node in the destination env.
    4. Mount this filesystem as NFS on second node using a cross cable between both of them (we can use interconnect VLAN also here)
    5. Keep applying the archive logs from source env till the downtime .
    5. startup nomount the database , change the datafile names from ASM to RMAN image copy files and mount.
    6. start rman convert statements and pump into the already exisitng ASM nodes with parallel sessions as much as possible (with 35 sets (513 datafiles) we were able to pump 2 TB data in 4.5 Hrs) - only system and undo datafiles need a convert statements (platform migration ) others would need a file system to ASM conversion only.
    7. alter database open resetlogs in the destination environment.
    8. create services manually and start the application.
we were given very less time to decide upon this stategy , By gods grace we were able to complete it .
I got a doubt while we are chalking out this plan .
can we connect to ASM instance remotely and pump data from one ASM to another ASM. It seems it is not possible , just a wild thought.
Let me know if you see any more improvements in this.
    Thanks

  • Unable to restart the Microsoft Software Protection Platform service from command line - Win81 MS Office 2013 SP1

I'm unable to restart the Microsoft Software Protection Platform service on a Windows 8.1 laptop for MS Office 2013 SP1 (32-bit) using the following command:
    cscript ospp.vbs /osppsvcrestart (issued from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15)
When this is run, a window appears with the title ospp.vbs and the text "Error: The Software Protection Platform service is not installed"
I verified that the service is installed in services.msc, and was able to manually stop and restart the SPP service in the Services console without issue.
The command runs correctly when restarting the MS Office 2013 SPP on Windows 7 devices.
Has anyone else seen this or have a solution for it?
The reason that I am attempting to restart the service from the command line is because this command is part of a script to change the KMS server IP Address used by OSPP prior to software activation.
The only other options that I have at this time is to ask the users to reboot, or manually force a reboot.  This is both time consuming and disruptive to the users.
The Fix It tool to remove MS Office 2013 was run, and the MS Office 2013 software was successfully reinstalled after a reboot.  The software was successfully activated.  When the command was run, it produced the same exact error.

    Hi,
I am able to reproduce this on my own machine, but in my case, I don't see the specific service running in the Services console.
I would like first confirm that whether you've the right service running on your Windows 8.1 system. The display name of this service should be "Office Software Protection Platform", service name is "osppsvc".
You can also check this by going to below path where you should see the executable file (OSPPSVC.EXE) if the service is installed on your system (in my case, the folder is empty):
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform

  • How do I set up a proxy server for webmail services to assist in migrating from NMS 4.15p6 on NT to iMS 5.1 on HP-UX.

I want to have minimal if no downtime at all when moving the message store. iPlanet support hinted at an "unsupported" proxy server solution, and would give no further information. I am running the MMP with 5.1 and that supports IMAP and POP migration, but I need support for webmail services as well to complete the migration from NT to UNIX with minimal distruption of thousands of users. I am using the MoveUser utility to move the message store in hopes that will clear up some store corruption we have been seeing.

To get this in a 'supported' fashion you might want to wait until the iMS 5.2 release. iPlanet has said this release would include a webmail proxy/mmp server to do exactly what you desire.
A proxy server would not be a solution to your problem as it would have to have access and knowledge to the users mailhost attribute to determine to which host to route the webmail connection. The webmail proxy/mmp will have this functionality.
You might want to contact your iPlanet rep about this product and maybe you could get a copy of it as part of a beta program. I know iPlanet is always looking for oppourtunities for feedback like this.

  • Issue in migrating analysis service job from one server to another

    Hi All,
I'm migrating analysis services from one server to another, within the source server there is a job with the name
denreportingprocess which executes a batch file within local drive on server. I have moved all the analysis services cubes from the source server to destination and all the databases on the source server have been restored to destination.Verified
cubes are pointing to the correct database by modifying the connection string within the datasource part of the cube databases.
I have copied the entire process folder from source to destination and edited the code within the run file and code within the job pointing the locations to new server.
Below is the job code, it is running a batch file placed in E drive
    E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\run.cmd
Below is the text within the batch file (windows command script)

  • Web service issues in migrating from ColdFusion 9 to 10

I'm troubleshooting a problem a client is having with their migration from CF9 to CF10. A webservice call that previously worked, no longer is working. When I call it from my CF10 server, I get this error:
    C:...\cfusion\stubs\WS-853189522_2...\service.java:10: class, interface, or enum expected package ...;
The ellipses are to replace proprietary files paths and names.
When I add the cfinvoke attributes wsversion and refreshwsdl, I get a "Unable to read WSDL from URL: .../service.asmx?WSDL" error instead of the above error. I also changed the default ws version from 2 to 1 in the CF Administrator, with no change. Are there any other known issues with CF10 that would interfere with a webservice call that worked in an earlier version?

I found the answer, and it turned out to be quite simple. After making the change to the default webservice version in CF Admin, I needed to restart the server. It now works, although I am curious as to why adding the wsversion attribute to the cfinvoke tag calling the webservice didn't work. My concern now is that if they add an Axis 2 webservice call in the future that they may run into this problem again.

  • Migrating from CM SDK to Content Services

    Hi,
I believe that content services is "built on" CM SDK.
Would it therefore be possible to migrate from an instance of CM SDK to Content Services? Are there any tools available to do this?
I think it would be possible to write an integration toolkit (of sorts) with the web services API but I'd rather see if there was anything available already!
    Thanks,
    Phill

We have no out-of-box tool at this stage to achieve this. As you can appreciate, CM SDK is that flexibile pretty much any application imaginable could be created leveraging all types of internal CM SDK structures (custom class objects, propertybundles, background agents, server-side overrides etc)
Content DB / Content Services abstract all of the low-level CM SDK structures away and introduces new FDK application structures such as Category, Workspace, Container etc.
We do not expose the internal API in Content DB, and instead only expose Web Services based off our FDK structures.
Developing a migration tool is purely on a case-by-case basis.
If the customer has made heavy use of document sub-typing, then they need to switch over to utilizing category objects.
If they have background agents, they need to look either at the Auditing /Event framework.
The complexity of the CM SDK migration will depend on how much of the low-level features the customer has leveraged. If it was purely just a metadata and content repository, migration will be quite simple.
If the application logic has been implemented using cmsdk structures (propertybundles etc), then migration will take some planning!
    cheers
    Matt.

  • Migrating from FWSM to ASA Service Module (ASASM)

I'm migrating from a failover pair of FWSM modules across to a failover pair of ASA Service Modules. In order to avoid a "big bang" switchover I intend to migrate subnets from one to the other over a protracted period.
With that in mind, can anyone confirm whether there is any restriction on having FWSM and ASASM modules in the same chassis? A trawl of the relevant documentation hasn't revealed anything.
In this specific case it is Catalyst 6509E VSS chassis pairs with Sup-2T.
    Thanks in advance.

So long as the chassis has enough power to power these modules you are good.
Upto 4 FWSMs can be installed in a chassis.
Upto 4 ASA-SM modules can be installed in a chassis.
    FWSM:

    • Up to 4 FWSMs (20 Gbps) per Catalyst 6500 chassis
    ASA-SM

    Q. How many ASA Services Modules can I place in a Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series chassis?
    A. Up to four independent ASA Services Modules can simultaneously run in a Cisco Catalyst 6500-E Series chassis.

    Help me!

    Hi Lukas,
I think the problem is caused by differenet drivers for the CAN communication.
NI provides two driver for CAN: NI-CAN and NI-XNET.
NI-CAN is the outdated driver which is not longer used by new hardware. NI replaced the NI-CAN driver with NI-XNET some years ago, which supports CAN, LIN and the FLEXRAY communication protocol.
    You wrote:

    3. NI_CAN 2.7.3
NI CAN is the outdated driver. I think that you should try to install NI-XNET instead of NI-CAN on your PXI-System, to get rid of the error message.

  • Migration from CA service desk to SCSM 2012 r2

Does any one have experience with migrating from CA Service Desk to SCSM 2012 R2?
How did you accomplish the migration

This is a common misconception about IT Service desk software, and a common reason that most helpdesk and service desk implementation fail miserably; that this something that you can just swap in and out like an email system. A service desk system isn't
just a file sharing site that you can forklift your data from and move on like before. Your service desk software is an
ERP for IT. Your Service Desk software is somewhere between a model of your IT department and a 5th column manager for your IT staff.
The typical methodology for doing this type of migration is to construct a straw model of your IT department, specifically your service book and work groups, and review your service book and incident handling procedures. once we have a solid understanding
of how your department actually runs at a conceptual and work item level, we can build a model of those work flows into service manager.
At that point, once we have a functional model of your department constructed in service manager, then we can start moving config item data. For 8 out of 10 implementations, this is better accomplished using a fresh discovery of config items from original
sources, which can then be reused to create an update methodology.
Provance's DMP (and to a lesser extent, the out of the box connectors, like the CSV connector) is a great tool for this, since it lets you build import templates that can be periodically run to update new data like purchases
for work items, a Knife edge cutover day is the simplest conversion, but certainly not the only option, that is, you decide January 15th is the day that the new system is available, and all work items go into the old system until January 14th,
and the old system will be locked for new requests on the 15th. any work in the old system is worked and closed using the usual process (even after the 15th) until the old system fades into obsolescence over the next 30 or 60 days.
You might notice that for medium enterprises (5,000 employees or so), this process typically takes several weeks of prep, and a couple of months of implementation, and it scales fairly linearly based on the size of your IT department. small departments
(somewhere below 20 analysts) can be done in a month or so, and very large IT groups, this can take a year or more.
