Play a movie from client machine
Hi,
I'd like to play a movie file which is in a CD. So i must be able to find the CD-ROM first and then play the file from the CDROM (of client machine). Please help me to resolve this problem.
Thank u my friend. Thats a good point. Actually in my application i'm going to handle a large number of video files. If i've to store all the files in the server, i've to pay more. So i'll place these video files in CD and give it to our clients(Business clients).
Only the video will be left with the client and all the other information related to the video will be in my database. So the user should login to my webserver to access the information and by the same time he should be able to view the video. Though, your point is good and i'll reconsider this.

Unable to play some movies from Netflix on my iPad. When I click on a movie an error message comes up "Cannot play movie. Please try again later." I contacted Netflix but have not been able the help so I am wondering if it's my iPad. I didn't have a problem before but I have recently upgraded to iOS 7.1. I have an iPad 2 16GB with iOS 7.0.3 and Netflix version 5.0.2. I cannot watch netflix on an External LCD monitor that I have through VGA out. I use bluetooth speakers, so the AirPlay is going to that for Audio. Before this update, this combo worked without an issue.
So as of Friday Nov. 8/2013, I contacted Netflix support, and they said they fixed the problem on their end, and the fix is on the Apple side of things, and to contact Apple support.
So, I contacted Apple support, and the first person I spoke to said I would have to agree to pay a $35 fee for 30 days of support to this problem since my unit is out of warranty. I said this isn't a hardware issue, it's a software issue, and I'm not willing to pay to fix a problem you created. So I got a Senior Level advisor on the line, and she was helpful, and she's looking into the issue for me and said she'll contact me sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov. 12 or 13) to let me know of the issue.
Here's the thing: this is a combination of Netflix and iOS not working correctly with any of the Apple Authorized Dongles. This is truly a code error that some hot shot programmer had major oversight on, and their management didn't catch it either. There was no reason for Netflix to rush to get this Netflix update going until Apple sorted out the bugs in iOS 7.
Anyway, if I hear anything from Donna (the advisor), I'll post it and let you guys know. In the mean time, good luck! -

ManishYou have 2 possibilities. First, you might be able to mount the client's disk drive at the server; the servlet can then access that drive directly. Second, install a client program on the client machine and communicate with that program, and have it do the search (or whatever).
Outside of Java, there are remote-access programs - like PCAnyWhere. -

If you are storing text data instead of binary data, replace "blob" by "clob" in the searches. -

I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section. If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there

I downloaded a movie from iTunes. I wanted to burn a DVD of the movie which I could play on my home entertainment system. After I had burned the DVD I tried to play the movie from it on the computer and got the message " You can't open the application mediaioserver because it may be damaged or incomplete". What is this all about? Are there settings I need to change? PS: I tried to play the DVD on my home DVD player and it also doesn't work. Help!
Klaus: Does this mean that I can only watch this movie on my computer and ipad not on my home big screen system?

a single file among different people to work simultaneously, but here i stuck on saving any file from client machine to directly on SharePoint Server, Attached is the snap shot, whenever I try to save any file directly It says Path Does Not Exist, If I drag
and drop any file directly to SharePoint I do not see any error message.
I read from different posts that I need to Enable Desktop Experience Feature on Server 2012, which I installed but no positive result gained :(
I will appreciate for any possible help?

if i have to access or use some files say C:\hello\myimage.jpg from client machine's local drive, how it can be done using some technology in Java eg applets or some other way. please read the following situation to have a better undertsanding of the problem,
consider the following situation:
a web application is running on client PC, and on click of a button, i have to generate a report in some format and insert some images in that report which are on clients local drive and their path is known to me say C:\ myimage.jpg.
if the mages were on the server(where web application is hosted), then its not a prob.
if there any other technology in java to read files from clients PC through a browser other than javaSign the applet.

I want to know the best way for reading large data at about 75MB file from client machine and insert to the database.

Loading the file should be done at client machine and inserting into the database should be done at server side.

KalyanLike I said before you should be using your application server to serve files >from the server off the filesystem. The database should not store files this big >and should instead just have a reference to this file. I think u have not understood the problem corectly.

This is a j2ee based application.

We need to read this file and transfer this to the application server. Which are EJBS.
There we read this file each row in file is one row in the database for a table.
Like wise we need to insert 3 lacs records in the database.
We can use Jdbc to insert the data which is not a problem.
Only problem is how to transfer this data to server.
I can do it in one way. This is only a example
I can read all the data in StringBuffer and pass to server.
There again i get the data from StringBuffer and insert into database using jdbc.
This way if u do it. It is performance issue and takes long time to insert into the database.It even may give MemoryOutofBond exception.
just iam looking for the better way of doing this which may get good performace issue.

Well,i don't know whether if this helps people here are not.
It is always a good practise to do it via Servlet and then download content.
The adavantage of doing this is
1). You may not need to pack the downloadable with the .war which you ultimately genrate which ceratinly help us in terms of faster deployment.
3). You may update the new content just by moving a file to the backup folder.
2).One may definately download the content irrespective to the content/file.
Hope example below helps..

In the above example we are assuming that we placing all downlodable file in D:/webapp/downlodables/ and you have configured the same path as a init param with the name "filePath" in your web.xml.

Downloaded purchased movie from itunes to my computer and then synced it to my IPad. I tried playing the movie from my iPad to my apple tv and it says this device is not authorized to play content. Also tried from iPod but no luck! I can watch the movie on my iPad but I can't AirPlay it! Any suggestions,
Like you I am having the same problem. I am at a loss, seems despite the fact I have purchased the content and am only using the TV as a display I don't understand the authorization question. I hope someone has an answer.
