Play All Feature Requ

I keep several audio books on my Zen in addition to music. It would be nice if the Play All music feature skipped files that are in the Audio Book or Spoken Word genres. I don't want these files interrupting my music listening. It seems like this would be an easy feature to implement. I don't know of any MP3 type player that does this though. Just a thought,-bs

Yes, I suppose I could. That is a good idea that I hadn't considered. The challenge is that I would need to do this manually since Audible.com expects them in the Music folder and their software manages their files accordingly. Thanks for the idea though. It may lead me to a solution.-bs

Is there a "play all" feature for videos on iphone4????

    Hi Robin
Welcome to apple discussions. I use Toast (personal choice only) in this situation since it has a play all check box. But then you don't get the fancy menus.
There is no such check box within iDvd for selecting play all but you can set up iDvd's preferences to address scene selection menus when a movie/s is added. And here's how you do that:
A second option might involve adding the 8 separate movies to the slideshow feature within iDvd for continuous play. And yes you can add photos as well as movies to idvd's slideshow feature with a number of added benefits which I won't go into here. But if you want more info on this procedure just look at a few of Old Toad's prior posts / replies on this iDvd forum.

  • Does the iPhone support a "Random Play All" feature?

After reading the iPhone manual on-line, I did not see direct support for a "Random Play All" option.
Please tell me that this was an omission in the manual and it is directly supported by the iPhone, because this is a deal breaker for our family if it is not directly suported.

It might help if I had any idea what that feature was.
Do you mean a shuffle feature-where it randomly picks music tracks and plays them?
If so-the 3g iPhone has it.

  • I'm trying to use a play all feature...

I have a number of video clips to go on a DVD. I want an individual button for each clip which plays just that clip and does not continue to the next progressive clip. I also want a "play all" button which will play each clip in a progressive order. Is there a way to do this without doubling the amount of information on the disk?
    Vince

The story will get added to the track and you can see it in the outline view or the graphical view windows. If in the outline view the track icon will have an arrow next to it which if you click will reveal the story. In the graphical view stories are blue/green in colour.
Have a look at the following project which has got a complete set up along the lines of the tutorial:
    http://homepage.mac.com/halgernon/.Public/Play%20All%20projects/Playall_stories. zip
You will see that there are five stories, and from the menu each can play individually. Each story has got a menu call and end jump to go back to the right button on the menu, and the play all button targets the actual track.
If you want to do the option with a single story, you can download a demo of that here:
    http://homepage.mac.com/halgernon/.Public/Play%20All%20projects/Playallsinglestory.zip

  • Does "Play All" feature exist?

I have a few movies and slideshows on a dvd project and I'm curious there is a "Play All" button that can be made. I would like all movies and slideshows to play one after another with one click instead of individual clicking. Any idea?

If you put all your videos into iMovie, and create your chapter markers there, putting the specific music to each chapter, all the chapters will automatically play consecutively from the beginning of the movie to the end from the burned DVD disk. That is the same way that commercial DVDs work--the movie plays from wherever you start it to the end of the movie.
When you put the iMovie into iDVD, you can set it to play immediately when the disk is inserted, or you can have a theme at the beginning and push 'Play all' to get started. You can set the movie to loop if you want it to play over and over.

  • Is there a "play-all" type feature?

Hi...I'm making my first DVD with iDVD and I was wondering if there is a way to have a "play-all" option. Basically, I have a bunch of small video clips in a sub-menu that I would like to have the option of viewing individually or all in a continuous mode, similar to what you would see on a movie's special features.
I have searched and know that you can "loop" videos together, but it looks like if you do this, then you don't have the option of playing them individually. Is there a way to create an optional "play all" feature?
Any info would be great. Thanks!

Not as you are describing, but you can do a work around. Move your clips into imovie and create a continous movie.During the process add in chapter markers between your clips. Then share the project to idvd. You will get a play movie (to play the entire movie and a scene selection menu that will have your individual movies in it. You can then rename the play movie and scene selection buttons to whatever you want. Or, you can click on folder icon at the bottom of the screen and move the clips around.

  • Chapters and Play all - how do I get this to work with a one hour project?

    Hi
I have a one hour project and at the moment I have it in one track with a Main Menu, Chapter menu and a bridge menu for the loop point.
I have 5 chapters and want 2 functions to happen in my DVD structure:-
    1. the Play All function
    2. and the Chapters to play each individual chapter and then go back to the Chapter menu when it;s finished.
As my project is now, the play all feature won't work, it is like it's the CHapter menu.
In the past I've had a track for the play all and then separate tracks for each chapter. Is there a way around this - do I have to do that fancy encoding (which I have no idea how to set up.
I have 5 chapters and would love some help to construct this as I don't think the 2 hours would fit on my single layer DVD and it would be a lot more exporting work.
    Hope you can help.
    Cheers
    Margie

You may want to use scenarios in this situation.
click the "add a scenario" button, an add as many scenarios as you have chapters.
Then double click on each scenario option.
You will see a list of chapter appear on the left of your timeline area.
Drag the chapter you want to play solo to the empty list on the right ("scenario markers").
Make sure you then select that chapter marker in the scenario Marker list, and choose "end jump: main menu". Also make sure that your gobal scenario end jump is set to your main menu too.
Then link you buton to that scenario and repeat for the other chapters.
    hope that helps.
    tee.

  • How do you make it so that the ipod will play all the different artists featured in an album when you click that album to play?

How do you make it so that the ipod will play all the different artists featured in an album when you click that album to play? At the moment, each artist in the album is being separated and I can't play them together. For example, to play the Halo 2 Soundtrack, Hoobastank, Breaking Benjamin, Nile Rodgers, etc. are some of the artists featured. However, in the Albums category, they are each separate choices. I want to play them all together, but can't. Is there a way to do that?

It sounds like the album metadata is incorrect, or differs from song to song in iTunes.  Albums with various artists will play properly assuming all the songs are tagged with the same identical album name, as well as the track number.  For the Halo 2 Soundtrack, metadata should look like this:
    Song: <Song Title>
    Artist: <Song Artist>
Album: Halo 2, Vol. 1 (Original Soundtrack)
    Genre: Soundtrack
I had a similar problem with my imported Cowboy Bebop albums and the mixture of artists/album names.  Once I adjusted the metadata, all of them play in the correct order just by selecting the Album from the available list or in Coverflow.

  • In the current "Podcast" app is there a way to play ALL episodes of ALL podcasts chronologically from oldest to newest like there was in the "Unplayed Episodes" list of the original "Podcast" app?

In the original version of the Podcasts app there was an "Unplayed Episodes" list that listed ALL the episodes of ALL the podcasts I had loaded on to my device, and I could listen to them in chronological order from oldest to newest.
In the new Podcasts update I see a list called "All Unplayed" but when I select a podcast from there it plays all the episode of JUST THAT podcast, without switching between podcasts to whatever episode on my device is chronologically next.
Is there a way to listen to my podcasts chronologically across Podcast series and I'm just missing it or did Apple screw the pooch on this one?

Please, please, please... I wonder if the solution of deleting the Podcast App and using the Music App again would work.  My favorite sports radio station splits up their podcasts by DJ (logical), but I want to listen to all podcasts from one day from all DJs.  No longer automatic :(
Apple developers, if you read this please add this feature - you had it in Music App.

  • IPOD 80GB Classic not playing all songs but they play in ITUNES

After I synch all the songs are displayed on the IPOD but some will not play. They just skip to another song or album. This does not happen in ITUNES only on the IPOD

    *Skipping songs*
The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
You may like to try scanning the files with MP3 Validator which can find & fix some internal MP3 errors.
Some users have also suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information can be a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/option clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags > None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I've have found files for which these solutions don't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g. convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. (Grrr - I see the convert file to format feature has disapeared in iTues 9.1 so this might not be so easy if you've upgraded.) Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original files back onto the iPod.

  • Camileo S20 - How to play all recorded videos?

    hi all!
Ive not long had the camileo s20, so still trying to get mt head around it. I think ive managed the basics but im having a problem with play back.
When i recored a video - 6 mins long, but i pause the recording half way through, then go back on to start recording where i left off, during play back it will play the movie sepratlely and i manualy have to start the other half of the video to play.
Is there anyway i can just click play and it plays all my recorded videos continuously? a play all setting?
    Thanks

    Hi wayne_1,
First of all I can recommend checking the user manual. It contains a lot of informations about your camera and how to use all features.
I have checked the user manual but unfortunately I think such a playback function isnt available. With the playback button you can switch to playback mode and use the left and right button to go to the next picture/movie.
But there is no function about playback of all videos.

  • Scripting play all end jump problems.

    hi all
in my project i have a script that plays all of my tracks following the 'scripting a dynamic play all button in dvd studio 3' help sheet i found on this discussion forum. for it to work i need to set the end jump of the tracks to a 'play next script.'
However, when i want to play one individual track from the menu it finishes on a black screen and remains there as i cant set the end jump to return to the main menu as it is in use with the play next script.
can anyone help im at my wits end
    many thanks in advanced.
    ed

    Ed:
    Wellcome to the forums!
You can get the PLAY ALL / PLAY EACH chapter feature using just Stories with no scripting at all. Check this Stories Tutorial.
I found that way easier than scripting.
    Hope that helps !

  • How do i get quick time to play all videos on a disc?

how do i get quick time to play all videos on a disc, one after another?

Having just looked at the website, I agree its sparse in information.
I have used VLC for  7 years when I bought my last Mac.
Its my default video player and plays 95% of what i throw at it. It plays large HD files smoother and more reliable than any other player.
Yes It will play QT and yes it has a useful playlist feature.
Look at the feature page: VLC Player

  • Possible to search for a song then go straight back to play all/shuffe all?

    Hi there.
Anyone know if it is possible to use the search function to play a specific song but for the latest Ipod touch to then go back to playing all songs when that searched song finishes?
I think it used to do this on an older system version but for some time now it just repeats that song over and over.
Anyone know a way around this?
    Best regards

you can leave your feedback asking for this feature, but unless a lot of people ask for it, they probably will not implement it.

  • Is there a 'Play All' option for DVD menu?

    Hi,
I was hoping someone can possibly help here... I have created a DVD menu in iDVD with 8 separate movie items each with their own button (with underlined feature), but with no sub menus or additional pages.
Incidentally, these items are home movies, transfered from old Hi8 tapes, edited in iMovie then added to iDVD.
The 8 items have all successfully loaded to the iDVD menu and will play when each item is selected (in test mode).
However, I was hoping to also add a 'Play All' button so that the whole DVD content can be played as one continuous piece if required, rather than being limited to being able to play only individual items at a time and then having to return to the menu page in order to select the next item.
Please can anyone offer any help here? I'm very new to Macs/iDVD etc so simple, basic guidance would be much appreciated!!!
    Many thanks,
    Robin-UK
