Play audio into to pdf on browser

As possible to hear the audio on a link into to pdf file opened by the same browser?
Possibly via a plugin?
help me please!

If you're asking whether Adobe Reader or Acrobat can play an audio file downloaded on demand from a web URL, then yes - just create a "sound" rich media annotation in Acrobat, and enter the URL into the dialog box instead of browsing for a file.

  • How do I embed streaming audio into a PDF?

I've seen threads and question on embedding a YouTube video which I can do, but haven't seen anything regarding streaming audio embedding.  There are music sites out there that let you embed their song players (Soundcloud for example), how would I go about doing that?
I also wouldn't mind embedding a YT player w/only the player controls as well (see below), but I can't figure out how to do that either.  Your help is greatly appreciated, being trying to figure out how to do this for hours now.
FYI, I know how to embed audio, but I would rather stream the audio to keep the file size small.

Ok I'll be honest, I'm really not following you here.  Exactly what is an "annotation"?
It will be a series of MP3's, when I tried copying and pasting the embed code I get an error that reads "Unsupported 3D file format" .  Below is the embed code I pasted into Multimedia-->Flash Tool

  • Trying to play audio in PDF files

I am trying to play audio within a PDF files but get the following error message:
Acrobat has encountered an error while playing this media clip:
Adobe's Windows build-in player cannot play this format as the required decoder is not installed on the system.
How can I install this required decoder?

You're trying to play 'legacy' media which was depreciated a number of years ago for security reasons. It relies on some external player understanding how to open the file type, but Acrobat/Reader can only send the file across and hope that something will react, it cannot help you find the codecs you need.

  • Embedding audio into indesign for playback in pdf

Hello, i'm trying to create a pdf book of educational lectures with audio of the transcribed lectures embedded into the pdf so the user can read and listen along as they like. my solution to this was break up the audio into sections and embed using buttons.  this way, the user just has to mouseroll over a button in the margin to play the particular section they want to listen to.  there are about three sections per page. the downside of this solution is that the audio doesn't keep playing of course, it just plays that section then stops. i'm now wondering if it might be possible to just have one audio file instead of 60, and make buttons (for each section) that open up the file at a particular point in the audio corresponding to the section; in other words (my question), is it possible to make a button that opens an audio file and plays it from a particular point, not just from the start?  I would appreciate any suggestions.

no pardon necessary! i need to embed the audio file because it contains the original lecture, that's what I want the reader to have access to while reading the transcription, since the transcription is not meant to substitute for but rather supplement the audio. for example, in the transcribed text I have put "[...]" for segments of the recording that are inaudible. If I put the original audio into the file then the reader has the option of going to that specific section and listening to it themselves. basically i want to create a pdf document of a lecture. I want to be able to highlight important parts of the lecture, search the lecture for key-words, and scan it quickly for specific items of interest, but I also want easy access to the original audio because tone of voice isn't translatable into text (and the tone of voice in this case is important for meaning), and because there are many segments that I couldn't hear, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to link sections of the text to specific sections of the audio.

  • Adobe reader XI no longer plays video or audio embedded in PDF created with Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

    Help please!
Embedded video and audio content in PDFs created using Adobe Acrobat X Pro does NOT play on some school computers after Acrobat Reader XI is installed. The media content played fine with Acrobat X. This is seen with both XP and Windows 7 machines.
Bizarrely, other machines with Windows 7 and XP play the video and audio content fine when Acrobat XI is installed.
Please help, as the PDFs are the delivery mechanism for a very effective literacy programme for children, and this bug has halted delivery for a considerable number of schools and thousands of children are in trouble!

    Hi Raman,
I think we have found the source of the problem. It relates to how different browsers are detected by Adobe when updating Flash Player.
To make the videos play within PDFs either from DVD or on the hard drive, it is now essential that Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin (now version 11.5.502.113) is installed. (Adobe Reader 10 had its own internal flash player, so an external player was not needed)
We have discovered that, when Google Chrome is the browser, automatic updates of Flash do NOT download this programme. Flash 11 ActiveX is the only programme that is downloaded, and the videos do NOT play from DVD or harddrive.
Also, it is not possible to manually download Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin as this option is not presented to the user. Presumably Adobe have set it up this way, because the Adobe site recognises Chrome is being used, and assumes that the computer does not need the plugin flash player, as Chrome has its own internal flash player. However, other programmes may need it!
We went to FileHippo to download the non-IE version (even though we were using Chrome!) at
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/
Then the videos played from DVD or harddrive.
I have not been able to test how this works with other browsers. I hope that Adobe can sort this problem out asap!
    regards

  • Can no longer play audio files embedded in a PDF

I can no longer play embedded audio files in PDFs in version 11 for Windows XP (though I could on an older version). The audio will not play on my Mac either. How do I fix this?

I should add that these are mpgs of a television series. They were made with QuickTime Pro 7.6.2 or .3 just before the new iTunes and Snow Leopard came out. I can open them with either QT X or QTPro7 on the Mini and they play fine. I don't know where to point the finger since they play through iTunes fine on the PPC Leopard Mac and not the Intel Snow Leopard Mac. It could be how the new tunes works with the OS but those kind of hooks are harder to find than they were back in the old OS7,8,9 days. I'm not meaning to be an old bloke longing for the old days cause i love the magic of technology.

  • How to play audio in PDF file?

I am nt able to play the audio embedded in PDF file. Can someone guide me to find what am I missing?

Have you considered using form fields? You can programmatically set the field values, and flatten the page, which converts the form fields to regular page contents.
What programming environment do you want to use?

  • How to embed audio into file for export to pdf

Hello, I've transcribed a two-hour lecture and copied it into Indesign.  I would like to create a pdf with the audio of the lecture embedded in it so that when the reader clicks on a paragraph or a button the audio for that particular sentence or section starts up. The point is to allow the reader ready-access to the audio that corresponds with the transcript. Ideally the reader could click anywhere in the text and the audio would start there.  Does anyone have any suggestions for making this kind of document? much appreciated.

no pardon necessary! i need to embed the audio file because it contains the original lecture, that's what I want the reader to have access to while reading the transcription, since the transcription is not meant to substitute for but rather supplement the audio. for example, in the transcribed text I have put "[...]" for segments of the recording that are inaudible. • How can I turn a form that is open on my browser into a PDF doc if I cannot save it onto my computer

How can I turn a form that is on my Safari browser into a PDF if I cannot save the form onto my computer?

Acrobat XI Pro has a "create PDF from a web page" feature. If you have Acrobat XI Pro installed perhaps you can "capture" the web form as a PDF. If so then this PDF can (of course) be saved to the local machine's HDD.
    Be well...

How do I play audio books in my car using USB cord?
Does the sound system on your car have a usb input? If so connect your iPhone to the radio with your cable and play the audio book on your phone. Note that your vehicle needs to be able to accept audio input through thr USB port and not just provide a charging circuit. Check your vehicle's manual if you are not sure.

  • Playing Audio Files in the Finder-any tips?

Something I've been meaning to ask for ages... and hopefully an easy one to answer!
When playing audio files in the Finder (in 10.5.8), it's really annoying when the file stops playing when you click on another window or application (or even just the Desktop). Is there any way around this?
Someone recommended Snapper, but it's the same story - file stops playing when you click on any other area. Is this problem confined to Leopard (ie. has it been fixed in Snow Leopard?) - never used to be like this in Tiger.
Some of us like to multi-task when listening to audio. The only solution I can see is importing the file into itunes. Any other suggestions?

I assume you're talking about QuickLook?
That's not the Finder, that's QuickLook.
QuickLook is a function that can only work with the foremost selected item, and that makes sense, as you can, for example, QL a PDF within Mail.app, as well.
Why not just use column view (doesn't everybody?) and play it in the Preview pane at the right?
It will keep playing until you close the window or select another object within it.
I use QuickLook when I want to give an audio file a quick once-over - skip here and there, but for actually playing it through, I use the column view preview.

  • Viewing pdf in browser window

I know this problem has been addressed in NUMEROUS other threads, but I've read through at least 20 of them now, including threads elsewhere on the web, and NONE of them solve my problems. Neither Safari 3.1.2 or Firefox 3.0.1 will open pdfs within a browser window on my machine (OS 10.4.11, PowerBook G4, pre-Intel chip). I have Adobe Reader 9.0.0 installed, but both the "display pdf in browser using" and "allow fast web view" options are turned off. I have also removed any Adobe pdf plugins from my user/Library/Internet Plug-Ins and /Library/Internet Plug-Ins folders. In an attempt to get things to work, I downloaded and installed PDF Browser Plugin 2.2.3. This plugin is in both folders, and both browsers recognize that the plugin is installed. But both still insist on opening pdf through Adobe Reader. I can get both browsers to open pdfs using the plugin if I use the "open with" option on a pdf and request either Safari or Firefox. In these cases, the pdf will open seemlessly within the browser window. But any time I try to open a pdf through a website, Safari immediately saves to disk and Firefox asks me what I want to do with it (save or open in Reader). There's kind of a workaround in Firefox: if I specify that pdfs be opened by Firefox instead of Reader, they will open automatically in Firefox when I click on them, but they actually get downloaded to my desktop and then opened in a new browser window, so they're not really being opened within the browser--and my desktop ends up cluttered with pdfs that I don't want.
I'm at the end of my rope here, so if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate hearing them.
    Thanks,
    jd

First off, thanks for the help. It appears that things are working now, for the most part--the odd behavior was specific to the particular online pdf file that I happened to be using to test things. I wasn't control clicking on that one, and it still insisted on downloading. But all other pdfs appear to behave normally. Which really does solve my problem, since the right-click option in Safari to "view in Preview" gives me all the functionality that I get with Reader, only quicker.
But just to convince you I'm not crazy for expecting pdf-viewing menus in my browser window, this is from Safari Help:
"When you click a link for a PDF file, Safari displays it in your browser window and provides a toolbar to help you view the file... To view the toolbar, put the mouse pointer in the middle of the PDF page, near the bottom. If you move the pointer away from the toolbar, it disappears after a moment. The toolbar has four icons. Point to each icon to see a label."
I don't get the toolbar. I still have some control through the ctrl-click menu, but no toolbar. The same goes for the google pdf browser plugin. This is from Schubert IT:
"The Schubert|it PDF Browser Plugin perfectly integrates into your web browser and with its great Mac look & feel it looks like it always belonged into it. Easy to use and intuitive toolbar buttons give you quick access to the most common features, and a standard Action menu lets you access everything else – even while the toolbar is hidden in cases when you need the maximum screen real estate."
I can't find the toolbar anywhere.
As for OSX being superior to Windows in every regard, I am pretty much inclined to agree with you. Generally Mac deals with pdfs much more smoothly, which is why I was frustrated with my problem. I still think that the Windows browsers play better with Adobe Reader--the integration of Reader into the browser window seems pretty nice on my PC at work. But I'm happy with the solution you've given me, and I'll stay away from Reader in the future. And once I realize how much better life is without Reader, I'll have yet another reason to hate going to work.

  • Audio commentary in PDF files

I am using the audio comments button to insert audio into files, but I am wondering about the "default" quality of the audio files.  The comments have created file sizes of quite large proportion (up to 25 meg with only two audio comments, along with other textual inserttions).  Is there any way to "lower" the audio quality in order to conserve file size?  Thank you!

You insert new rich media annotations in Acrobat X Pro using the Tools Pane > Content panel > Multimedia button, which opens a flyout menu for Video, sound, SWF and 3D files.
In Acrobat XI Pro it's moved to the Tools Pane > Interactive Objects panel and each media type has its own button
Select the appropriate tool (e.g. Sound) - draw a rectangle on the page where the player will be displayed, then choose your file or enter a URL if you want the media to be downloaded 'live' to the viewer.
As to decoupling - the issue is not with what you've got installed when the PDF is created, it's what your audience have installed (or not) when they open the PDF. From an authoring point of view, rich media is effectively identical between Acrobat 9, X and XI aside from the button being moved to a new panel. If your audience have Adobe Reader X it'll play seamlessly. If they have Reader XI and haven't previously opened any PDF content with Flash inside, they'll be told to download the plugin. At the moment, sound doesn't play at all on mobile version of Adobe Reader.
