Play button double click !

hi . i had my ipod nano with my headphones in my back pocket. i sat down on my sofa , i realised and took it out . now for some reason if i press the bit imbetween play and backwards it feels weird and clicks like twice , also sometimes when i press play it clicks twice and ( not the clicker sound just the sound of moving down. call me a perfectionist ( which i am ) lol . it just quite annoying because it feels weird . but it does still work . please tell me if there is a way of fixing this or should i just shut up and stop worrying ?thanx

please tell me what this diagnostic thing is . i also have an older ipod but the screen is broken . this morning while i was listening to my ipod nano it skipped onto the next song while i was half way through another. i also noticed that while i was viewing a photo there was a weird black line on it , i went back and tried again and it had vanished. also when i turn it off and lock it , then i un-hold , it it doesn't always turn back on and sometimes i have to press a button even if i havn't had it turned off for ages. ( if i send it to apple what do you think they would do. ?
thanx

  • IOS 7.1 Upgrade - home button double click not working most of the time

    Hi,
Not sure, if anyone else had encountered this issue after upgrading to iOS7.1.
I am using iPhone5S 32 GB and it was working fine with home button (double click, mostly used to see & close other applications running in background) till I upgraded to iOS7.1. After iOS7.1 upgrade, most of the time, I am unable to see running applications. After trying for 4-5 times, I managed to see running application
Is there any fix or workaround for this issue?

  • Videos in iPhoto don't play when double-clicked?

Today, I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Prior to the update, when I was in iPhoto, I would double-click on a video and Quicktime would auto open and play the video. Since the update today, when I double-click on a video in iPhoto, nothing happens! I am forced to manually open quicktime and search for the video to open through my 3,000+ photos. Anyone have a solution for this problem?!

Exactly the same issue for me. Went to Snow Leopard and now the videos won't play in Iphoto. Software update is up to date, tried to manually install Quicktime again but it won't let me as it's already on the HD. Tried to delete it and try again but it doesn't seem to be working. Some help would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    T.

  • Flash Button Double Click

My new site, www.joedangerrecords.com has four pages. The
flash link buttons I chose have to be double clicked to access the
next page, I don't know why. Most websites I've seen have single
    click links.

It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made
    last
year to their browser, regarding how Active Content (Flash,
    Quicktime etc)
is handled, after losing a high profile court case.

  • Iphone 5 Phone favorites no longer Home button double-click?

Double-clicking the Home button on the iphone 5 no longer brings up the Phone Favorites.  Is there another shortcut way to do it or is the shortcut gone?

Yes, it most certainly does, which is why I'm here in the first place.
Apparently this is a feature that has been gone for a while, now that I see some older posts.  (I did try searching before posting but came up with nothing!).  Next I need to figure out how to close apps.
Upgraded from iphone 3G so pardon my ignorance of recent and not-so-recent changes...

  • How coan I add a new song to now playing by double-click in Creative Medis Source

This is my problem. Can I change it somehow in settings?
I used to use PlayCenter or other Creative players
and it always worked like that by double-click
I was able to add a new song directly to ,,now playing list".
    In MediaSource 5 when I double-click on a song
this softwere automaticly earase all the songs in ,,now playing".
So playings songs from f.e. C:\music.. by double-clicking
    always delates all the list

"Don't you think that double click should play the track immediately rather than add the track to the Now Playing list?"
Thats not exactly what he is saying....when you double click a file it should play immediately AND add it to the playlist. I agree with what the original poster is saying...MediaSource 3 and all other previous versions did this...and now MediaSource changed it for the WORSE.

  • How to handle a button double click

I know how to define and IBAction and link it to a control by (Click-Drag)ing.
But that does not make me chose what action (event for x-Microsoft) in the control am I linking to.
By other words, when I click-drag, I dont mention, anywhere that I want this action to be linked to the "Click" event of a button. So what if I want this action method to be called when a button is double clicked for example, or when the mouse moves over it.
    Thanks

Hi Tony, and welcome to the Dev Forum!
The good news is Apple provides thorough documentation on tracking, interpreting and handling Cocoa mouse events. The bad news is the info is carved into pieces that are scattered all over the library. The challenge is to identify the docs that contain one or more pieces of the puzzle, and then to fit everything together.
As to double clicks, there's no NSControl equivalent to the double-click notification that many Windows controls send (e.g. BN_DOUBLECLICKED). Also, as you've seen, when connecting an event to an action method in IB, there's only one event to choose from (Cocoa Touch is different in this regard, btw. You'll have a choice of several events when connecting a UIControl object to an action method in IB, though "double-touch" isn't among them).
So how do Cocoa programmers detect a double click in, for example, an NSButton? The default action message for this class is generated by a NSLeftMouseUp event. I.e. when the left button is released while the control is tracking the cursor.
One crude but effective solution is to have the listener (the action method connected to the button) set an ivar and start a one-shot timer on the first message. If a second message is received before the timer method resets the ivar, we have a double click. Otherwise we have two single clicks.
A more general solution is based on two methods you might easily overlook. Firstly, [setContinuous:|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Cocoa/Refe rence/ApplicationKit/Classes/NSCellClass/Reference/NSCell.html#//appleref/doc/uid/20000074-BBCCCEAA] allows you to configure the associated NSActionCell object to send a stream of messages to the button's target instead of just one. The stream starts with the mouse down event that initiated tracking and ends with the mouse up that ends tracking (also see [trackMouse:inRect:ofView:untilMouseUp:|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/ documentation/Cocoa/Reference/ApplicationKit/Classes/NSCellClass/Reference/NSCell.html#//appleref/doc/uid/20000074-BBCCJAFJ]).
The next piece of the puzzle is the [currentEvent|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Cocoa/Refere nce/ApplicationKit/Classes/NSApplicationClass/Reference/Reference.html#//appleref/occ/instm/NSApplication/currentEvent] method of NSApplication. This returns the NSEvent object the started the current event cycle, i.e., the event which caused NSButton to send the current action message.
Thus the listener has access to the stream of event objects which represents the mouse activity from the start of tracking to the end. Using the position and time stamp data from this stream, the listener can distinguish between clicks and drags (hovering is detected differently; I won't try to cover that topic in this post).
A couple reference links that might help with the rest of the puzzle:
    [Handling Mouse Events|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/Ev entOverview/HandlingMouseEvents/HandlingMouseEvents.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/100 00060i-CH6-SW1]
[Control and Cell Programming Topics for Cocoa|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/Con trolCell/ControlCell.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/10000015i]

  • Wrong song plays when double clicked

When I double click a certain song in a playlist, a different song starts playing.  If I triple click or highlight the song then double click, it plays the correct song.  What is wrong, and how do I fix this?

I definitely have the same exact problem, also using Windows 8.  Double clicking a song will sometimes start a different song playing.  Also it occurs sometimes if the song is highlited and I press the enter key... a different song will start playing.
This doesn't happen all the time, in fact it's somewhat infrequent, however, it has happened enough times now that I'm determined to find a solution.
Me and OP can't possibly be the only two users experiencing this problem... Anyone??

  • I just got "The Yellow Submarine" book.  I downloaded it, it appears to be in "Books," but it won't play.  Double clicking or clicking "Play" has no effect.  How do I get it to play?

    See question above.

The book is only the book, and artwork.  It's a really horrible plan by Apple.
I purchased the album and the HD movie also.  Album downloaded the day after the book, as did the movie.  Downloaded to a Mac Pro with a 30" Apple Cinema Display.
Music is fine, book is fine.
Can't play movie.  Tells me it can only play on displays capable of Hight-bandwidth Digital Protection.  What the ****?  It won't play on anything.  Nothing about this in the iTunes store, either.
It will play via AirPlay on my Apple TV and transfer to my iPad, but not play on my Mac.  What the **** is up with that?

  • Double-Click Home Button Hasn't Worked for me since 1.1.1 upgrade

    Hi all,
I've been waiting around, sort of wondering if anyone has the same problem as I do. With 1.1.1, on of my favorite features I was excited for was the double-clicking of the home button. But this feature works far from properly on my iPhone.
When playing music, double-clicking the home button does display the iPod controls, and that's nice. And when locked, the home pressed twice also correctly shows the iPod controls. But the features that work properly stop here.
When set to the home menu, double tapping the button causes absolutely nothing to happen. I've tried it many times. Making sure music isn't playing, making sure the switch that says "Show iPod controls instead when music is playing" is turned off. I wanted this feature so bad I've done 3 software restores and nothing.
The same goes for Contact Favorites. What's interesting is that if I have the phone unlocked (and I can be in any app) and the double-click setting is set to show Favorites, I can double-click the home button and it will show the favorites. But never when locked. The only double-click feature that works from the locked screen is iPod controls. And the iPod controls like to show even when it's not set to nor pending music playing.
Is anyone else out there having these issues? I'm out of ideas of how to fix it.

If I'm following corectly it sounds like you've done a bit of trouble shooting yourself. Can you take it to an Apple store an let them check it out?

  • Itunes won't respond to double clicking on a song once another song is play

hi. i open itunes, double click on a track and then if i want to play another track i double click on it but itunes won't respond and just keeps playing the original track. if i click on the track, it will highlight but won't play when double clicked. it will however play if i highlight with a single click and hit return. why is this happening. it never used to happen and doesn't on my other computer.

QuickTime X wouldn't have given the error message if it could have opened the file.
There are many file formats and codecs it can't view.

  • How do I disable "play on single-click" from iTunes search?

Just downloaded iTunes 12.1.1.4 (Windows 8, 64-bit) in order for it to sync with my iPhone.
I see that now when I search for an artist, clicking on the album (or any search result, ***???) will start playing that album automatically. I don't want to play it. I want to look at it. When I want to play, I double-click.
Can someone please explain how to get this back to the way it was? (Single click to view, double click to play.) It's driving me nuts.

Plug in your iPhone. Choose your device in iTunes, then
    1. Choose the music tab
    2. Uncheck the music you don’t want from Playlists, Artists, Genres, and Albums
    3. In Manually Added Songs, choose the songs you don’t want and click Remove at the bottom right corner
    4. Click Apply and you’re done!!

  • 3.1.2 double clicking home button when music is not playing

Is the bug that double clicking home button while music is not playing didn't bring up the iPod control fixed? I don't know it's a design change or a bug, but for me it seems definitely a bug since it doesn't give anything good. Clicking home button once already terminates the application, why would anyone use double clicking to exit the application too?
This is why I'm still using 3.0. Is this fixed in 3.1.2?

It's a design change, not a bug. Although I do have to agree with you on that I preferred what double-clicking the home button originally did. There is even settings (in general settings if I can remember right) on what double-clicking the home button performs, but that isn't even an option on it.
And nope this is not fixed or redesigned in 3.1.2.
    Hope that answers your question,
    Enjoy!

  • I can't play my music any more when my phone is off? I use to just double click the home button and it would play music. Now it doesn't. Why?

I can't play music on my iPhone 4 anymore when my phone is off. I use to double click the home button and I could play music with out having to enter my pass code every time. Now it doesn't work that way any more. Can any one tell me how to fix it?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting your device, but it can cure some glitches.
