Play count for imported items

Here's a new one for me...
Starting with this latest version, when I burn a CD, it automatically marks the Play Count for those items at 1. Anyone else encounter this? Is there a fix?

i've noticed that sometimes the play count does not increase for songs, and the only workaround i've seen that works is to do a second sync after the first one completes.

1st gen ipod Shuffle not updating play count for songs

I've noticed since I updated to the iTunes version 7.2.035 that plugging in and updating the library with my iPod shuffle no longer updates the play count for the songs I've listened to. Is there a known fix for this? Anyone else experiencing the same problem with their 1st gen ipod shuffle (512)?

Well, I have that problem too. My shuffle holds about 125 songs or so, yet I've noticed there are always a good 20 or so songs that won't play, no matter how many times I load them onto the device. I have had that problem since I inherited it from a friend.
My new problem is that every time I plug my iPod into iTunes, it no longer updates the playcount for songs. In other words, if I load a song that I've heard 3 times, hear it twice during the day, and replug in my iPod at night, it used to update that song's playcount in the library to 5, but now they still read 3. It's also failing to update the "date last played" field.
I use those to help make sure that I don't load the same songs over and over again by creating a custom playlist that will comb out songs played in the last few days and have a very high play count. Since these are no longer updating, I've noticed that I keep arriving at work only to find my iPod has the same or similar songs as the day before, and dude, if I wanted that, I'd listen to the radio!

How to make make GR for imported items? Is it the same process as it is done in MIGO for domestic consignments or it does have some other aspects also??

Hi,
The process of making GR for Imported material is same as the process of domestic material GR (that is through transaction MIGO). The only difference is that you have to post the clearing agent's bill (before posting GRN) in the system through transaction MIRO. Here, enter your import PO number & select option Planned Delivery Cost. Book the invoice of the Clearing Agent. Then post the GRN with reference to the invoice you booked in the system for the planned delivery cost.

Sync increments play count for songs that haven't played since last sync

Sometime in the last two months, my iPhone 3G and iTunes started showing a bizarre behavior. I have a smart playlist that only plays songs that have not been played in the last 4 weeks and that have not been played more than a certain number of times (I add 1 to that number after each time it goes through my entire library). I sync the phone every night (because I don't want to lose the recently played data if the iPhone resets for some reason - another irritating bug). Anyway, sometimes when I sync the phone, it increments the play count for songs that were played before the previous sync as well as the songs played since the last sync. This means that those songs are being double counted, even though they were only played once.
Here's another way to describe the story:
Day 1: Play 50 songs with play count value X (call this set A). Sync at end of day, now all 50 songs in set A have play count value X+1.
Day 2: Play 50 more songs with play count X (call this set B). Sync at end of day, now songs in set B have play count X+1, but songs in set A now have play count X+2 (even though they were not played again).
Day 3: 50 more songs (set C). After sync, songs in set C have play count X+1, those in B have play count X+2, and those in set A have play count X+3.
It never seems to go more than 3 days back. This is not reliable - in fact, I thought it was fixed after the last iTunes update, but it just happened again.
One other thing that I notice: whenever this happens, the count shown for the playlist on the iPhone is incorrect. For example, today before the sync, it said I was on song 156 of 271 in my playlist. However, I only played about 50 songs today, and I synced last night, so it restarted the playlist from 1. I don't know when it jumped so much - when I restarted the playlist this morning, it was on 6 of 271 (which was correct).
The only other thing I think may play into this is when I have my playlist carry overnight (i.e. I start playing it at night after the sync, then come in in the morning and have it pick up where it left off). I am usually pretty good about syncing at the end of every day, but I think that I'm only seeing this behavior when I have this overnight thing going on.
Anyway, has anyone else seen this behavior? Does anyone have any suggestions? I would not use the play count in my smart playlist, but it's the only way to ensure that random play actually gets through my entire playlist when I'm forced to sync every night (because of the other bug).

wow, this is messed up! i'm sorry, but i don't have a solution for you, more of a 'work around'. what i have started doing is using the 'genre' field to keep track of the songs i have listened to, and those that i have not.
i set the genre for all of my songs to be '0'. after syncing, in my iPhone, i go into the 'genre' listing, go into '0', hit 'view all songs' and start playing the first song i have. next, when i sync, i change the 'genre' in all of the songs i've listened to to '1', and after i resync, i can go into my iPhone (using the same method above) and start playing the songs i haven't listened to.
i know it's a pain, but it's the only workaround i have for this problem. i'm very disappointed in apple and the iPhone because of their lack of awesome playlist support. i had a creative mp3 player that was supremely awesome with playlists. i would add all of my songs to a 'playlist', and be able to listen to a few songs, then go watch a video, and when i went back into the music player, it would remember the last song i was listening to. it wouldn't remember where i was in the song, but the fact that it remembered the song i was listening to made it one of the best devices i've had. i wish that apple would spend some time and make this functionality possible.

J1iex for imported item

Hi friend,
i am having a problem while posting the excise invoice for imported item.
previously the entry was correct. and cenvat clearing account (CVD) (2401009) was being picked up at the time of J1iex .
then somebody interfered in the system and change d to other G/l (2401004). as a result last month all entry went wrong in other G/l.
again i corrected the settings for ETT-GRPO and Subtran type IP. again system is picking the same G/l 2401004.
can any body tell me any reason for that, or some other ETT is responsible for that.

Check CVD G/L account in Company code settings and the same G/L account is available in "G/L accounts per excise transaction"
Here if you set the correct G/L account then system will take correct G/L account while J1IEX if subtransaction type IP

Media Go - iTunes Data (Play count, ratings) Import

Hello,
I'm trying to import all my ratings/play count data from my music and podcasts in iTunes to Media Go. So, for example, my 'most played music' in iTunes. For now, I only know how to import a playlist. When I do this, I lose the play count/rating data.
Is there any way to do this? I understand there is two options for connecting to iTunes - 'monitor' the iTunes folders (which I have just done, and my data does not import) or to fully import all iTunes files (which also does not seem to import data).

Sam, thanks for your help. It's a shame but at least I know for sure! I have been thinking about this and have some ideas to help fix this:
1. 'Static' playlists can be imported. This is a playlist where the contents doesn't change. For example, you have a playlist based on the soundtrack of a favourite film. You simply right click on that playlist in itunes and click export, or you drag and drop it into Media Go.
2. Ratings - I have an idea. Make playlists in iTunes with '1 star songs' '2 star songs' etc. I do this for all 5 star ratings. Now use the above method to export to drag these playlists into Media Go. When you view these songs/podcasts/other content in Media Go, highlight them all either with your mouse or by pressing CTRL+A. When you have all items selected in a playlist, edit the details and add the particular rating. So, for example I have 5 star podcasts or 5 star songs. I drag them into Media Go, highlight them in Media Go, change the details in Media Go to 5 star again and it should be complete. You may wish to to create a view in Media Go with your 5 star items, this is similar to iTunes 'Smart playlists', meaning, as you add more ratings to your songs or podcasts, they are added automatically to this View.
3. Maintaining play count. The best I can recommend to others is to drag your playlists into Media Go, for example I have 'Favourite songs' or 'Most played new music'. When you drag them into Media Go, they will not maintain their rating but if you sync this playlist to your device you should be able to access your favourite music from your last device e.g. iPod quickly. With some normal usage, you will regenerate your favourite lists. You may wish to add a new View such as 'Most Played music', as I say, the Views add content over time like iTunes smart playlists.
If anyone else has helpful ideas do add! Lets make our Xperias and Media Go our favourite devices and software!!

Play count for podcasts do not update when using Smart Playlist

On my iPhone, when I play podcasts using a Smart Playlist I have noticed that neither the "play count" nor the "watched" get updated for any of the podcasts I listened to (and yes, I listen through to the end of each).
After listening to several podcasts in the Smart Playlist (letting it play from end of one into beginning of next and so on), then syncing to my PC, all of the podcasts still shows as being "unwatched" and the play count field is blank.
Problem only seems to occur when listening via Smart Playlist - which is very disappointing since the Smart Playlist is set to only include podcasts I have not yet listened to (play count is zero). If this is a bug, it makes this feature useless.
NOTE: Not sure if this would matter, but I frequently listen to podcasts at 2x speed (double).

You have the shuffle feature turned on. Since Podcasts are labelled (by iTunes) as *Skip when shuffling* (to prevent them playing while you're trying to listen to music) when one Podcasts finishes, there is nothing else left to play. If you look at the play tally, it will say 1 of 1.
Turn the Shuffle off. If you look at the play tally, it will now say 1 of x.

Combine Play Count for multiple libraries?

Apologies if this has been discussed recently. I tried searching and didn't find anything.
I have iTunes installed on my home desktop (Windows Vista), my laptop (Windows XP) and my work computer (Mac). Each computer has a different library, but there are many common songs. I'd like to combine the play counts so my home desktop shows the total number of times I've played each song. Is that possible without making the libraries on each computer identical (which would be impossible because my laptop hard drive isn't big enough)?

No, I am afraid Home Sharing won't owrk for this. It only works on a LAN and it only sync tracks not counts.
I am afraid iTunes does not do this. Apart from getting into some fairly complex programming in a scripting language using the iTunes COMS interface, I don't see how this could be done.

Play Count for Visio

Hi, I'm new to the forums. I have a zen touch and love it but it's outdated. I am really considering purchasing a Vision: M and although it won't completely convince me to buy or not to buy, I was wondering if it had a "play count" feature. What I mean is that, does it say you've listened to this song 5 times and this song 200 times, etc. Thanks.

Ok so it does keep track but there's no way to display it eh? Oh well, at least it gives you that option. And I definetly will get the screen protectors. I already have some but they're not meant to be 00% clear because you don't need to see the screen on what they're for. I'll have to get another one. Any other accessories worth getting?

Play Count for Duplicate tracks

It will be nice if we can have an option for every track on enabling which if any duplicate of it is played, the 'Play count' of all duplicates is increased by 1..
Otherwise, the minor trouble is .. I love a song (say Here Comes the Sun) and have listened to it hundreds of times and recently got hold of a better Bit Rate version of it. Obviously, I will like to listen to the better bit rate track..but this will start me from 0 play count. This may be a slight bother if one is too fussy about smart playlists...
Or is there a way out..?

and there you will find a few for adjusting playcounts. I have a couple I use that work great. The main one I use you pick the track, hit the script, type in the number of counts you want to increase or decrease the track and then hit the PLUS or the MINUS button and it adjusts the track,
So you find Here Comes The Sun in a higher bit rate. You old one say a play count of 27. Select the new track, hit the script, type 27, hit PLUS now the new track says 27. Delete the old track. Tah dah!

Reset play count for CD's that I own

In my iTunes Music Library I have only CD's that I own. I would like to reset all play counts to zero. How can I do that.
N.B. I have tried to change the play counts that appear in Library.xml, but this has no effect and gets corrected back from information stored somewhere else when I open iTunes.

It is one of the simpler interfaces. All you need to do is insert records into the mtl_item_categories_interface and run the Import Item Category Assignment program.

In case of inputs and capital goods cleared as such to vendors or on sale, ED is required to be paid equal to cenvat claimed. In case of imported items, the 4% SAD claimed needs also to be reversed.

In such scenarios the process to be followed would be as follows.
Sales Order, Delivery, Proforma Invoice (VF01), Excise Invoice (J1IIN), and Finally Commercial Invoice (VF01).
Here while creating Excise Invoice select item s one by one and execute the option of Get Excise Invoice. now you can select the appropriate Incoming Excise invoice.
Finally the Excise values would flow to the commercial invoice created.
By this approach your requirement might get fulfilled.

In the above code I'm updating the line items thru BDC. Here I'm having a counter ' i '. I'm incrementing it for every loop cycle. When I run the BDC I get the error "Field MSEG-ERFMG does not exist in the screen"

Resetting play order for imported MP3s

On several occasions I have imported compilation MP3s ripped on other computers into iTunes, only to find that the files play in the order of artist. They have Track numbers in the ID3 tags, which iTunes recognized, but I cannot get them to consistently play on my iPod from beginning to end.
Clicking the Track Number column header sorts all my tracks in sequential order, so I end up with several dozen Track 1s, tracks 2s, etc. Then I try to sort by album, and the By Artist order is restored. That order is then synced with my iPod, so track 13 will be the first track, followed by 14, then tracks 1-12.
Just so we are clear: These are compilation CDs, similar to "That's What I Call Music" and similar CDs. They have several artists on a single CD, so sorting by artists by alphabetical order ruins the order of the original CD.
I am confident that I am missing something, because this seems like too weird an issue to be "by design". I appreciate any thoughts on this issue.

other option is restore from last consistent backup and redo log (if online restore) to most possible current timestamp.
