Play DTS on Creative Gigaworks 7.1 with Audigy 2 ZS platinum pro

Hi all. In the subject there is my pc audio configuration.
I bought this super-speaker system because they said me that i could play DVD films in DTS surround, but it seems i can't.
In fact, choosing DTS in any of my DVD (audio or video) result in a mute scene.
Is there any way to listen DTS tracks?
May you help me?
Thanks a lot
Matteo

Just set your software DVD player to SPDIF output and make sure the A2ZS is set for SPIDF decode.

  • Creative Entertainment Center works with Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro

Creative doesnt seem to hav plans to release Entertainment center for Audigy 2 ZS. But theres a way to install and use Entertainment Center with AUDIGY 2 ZS Platinum/Pro. I first installed the Audigy 4 Modded PAX drivers for Audigy2 ZS with all softwares(i downloaded Audigy 4 ISO) , Then i uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled Audigy 2 ZS drivers , and again installed Entertainment Center, Guess what now Audigy 4 doesnt prompt me that i dont have the required HARD WARE before installation starts, and i can install ny Audigy 4 software(nothing much new though , only Entertainment center and Smart Recorder). and i am now enjoying ENTERTAINMENT CENTER with my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and with Audigy 2 drivers!!!!.
I think its not proper on part of CREATIVE not to release Ent. Center for Audigy 2, as the IO box and remote control of Audigy 2 and Audigy 4 are the same( RM-500 remote). so wats the point in keeping Ent. Center just for Audigy 4 and Up?

Just set your software DVD player to SPDIF output and make sure the A2ZS is set for SPIDF decode.

  • Gaming with Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro

Does anyone know how to use this card for online gaming using a Logitech headphone with microphone capabilities? I read that you can't for some reason but I am not sure why they said you couldn't. I am also not sure on how to set up the external hub if that is all it takes.
    Thanks in advance....

Alright, im trying to use the Logitech? Precision PC Gaming Headset, a friend was the source who had a similar sound card, and also on yahoo chat a few people said they had them and couldn't use them in the manner i want. Now I know they may not be accurate but I can't even hear any sound when i plug into the headphone jack on the external hub. Is that headphone jack only for hearing the inputs? I was trying to plug into the headphone jack and then into the mic jack to use for gaming. I am not sure if this or not but if you need any more info let me know.
Does anyone else have this card and use a mic during online gameplay?

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro - GigaWorks 7.1 - Tracktor DJ Studio - Setup help ple

I am trying to work out the best way to configure the following components so I can mix 2 tunes - listen to the mix on one channel and the incoming song on the headphones.
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
    GigaWorks 7.
    Tracktor DJ Studio
Currently with the Gigaworks connected to the Audigy and the headphones connected into the External IO Hub - selecting any combination of channels in Traktor to become master or headphone yields all tunes being played through speakers and headphones.
Reading the spec on the Audigy it appears I can use Line out on the soundcard itself to connect the headphones direct - but with the Gigaworks requiring all 3 line outs - how should i then best connect the speakers?
The Traktor instructions indicate that this config is possible using a multichannel soundcard - which this is.
I've attempted config in Traktor using all of the following Audio Devices:-
SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [ECCO]
SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [ECCO]
    Creative ASIO
DS SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [ ECCO]
No luck with any of them.
Im obviously not understanding something - and im sure im not the first person to attempt this.
    Any help appreciated.
    Regards
    Simon

I think what you're missing is that the headphone out is really connected to the same signal as the front speakers out. The assumption is that you're either going to be listening to the headphones or to the speakers. Tracktor can probably use the soundcard channels independently, but anything directed to the headphones also goes to the front speaker output. I believe you can set things up so plugging in the headphones will mute the speakers, but that doesn't help the front speakers play a different signal than the headphones.
I don't think there's a connection setup which you can use both for Tractor and for 7. listening. You can probably get Tractor to send the output you want to hear on your headphones to line out 2 and the mixed signal to line out . That would mean connecting the headphones to what is normally the surround left/right output, which you'd need to disconnect from the speakers while you're doing this.
If you end up trying to rig up switching to help you go back and forth, using 4 Sony-type camcorder cables for line out 2 and 3, and 2 stereo minijack to RCA cables will probabably be helpful because it will be a lot easier to get RCA-connector switching than 4-pole minijack switching.

  • Microphone connection problems with SB audigy 2 ZX platinum pro

I am using an old SB audigy 2 ZX platinum pro purchased back in 2004. It is installed on a PC that I stopped using it in 2005. The pc has no problems and I have started using it again. My problem is that I cannot connect the microphone. Everything was working fine at the time I was this pc including the microphone. At that time I had installed win xp pro( no service packs were available). But after I had to move physically in another location(connection and disconnections etc)and a pc format I cannot use the microphone again. I am trying to connect it to the front panel and to the appropriate places as indicated in the user manual but nothing is happening. I have connected properly the sound cart and all other components are working fine. I checked whether the microphone is checked to silent mode and all other software/di'vers nonetheless everything is working fine. I am now using Win xp pro sp3. I have contacted Creative and they told me to check the mic boost option. But there is no mic boost option now. I clearly recall that there was one when I was using this pc in 2004 under win xp pro(again no service packs were available at that time). One solution I could think is to format again and install some old version of win xp pro (say 2003 or so) and then update to current. But I do not want to format again since I do not have that version of windows available(copyright issues may also raise) plus for some other reasons I do not think I should mention them on an Internet forum. I also tried to download the latest drivers ans apps form creative ,clean installation from the orginal cd including Daniel_K pack and everything someone could think without solving the issue.Creative during our last communication in a very polite way told me to stop emailing them and try to solve the issue on my own as this product is no longer supported. One thing I neglected to mention above is that the mic boost option is available in the motherboard sound chipset. I checked it in one of my attempts to solve the problem. But it disappears when installing the SB driver. I know that if I manage to configure mic boost in the driver settings I will solve the problem. But once again there is no such option. Could you please provide with some suggestions and solutions on how to solve this?. Thank you very in advance for any suggestion and help

  • HELP! Hey, (Yeah YOU!) I need some HELP with an OEM Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro SB0360 installat

    Hi Everyone.
I'm new here so I'll try to be kind and make lots of helpful friends, especially folks at CL.
    Do you like a challenge?
    Try this on for size.
    My problem.
I'm working on a PC for a doctor friend. It's a Gateway P4 dual 3.0 gHz "Media Center" unit.
He let the antivirus proggie lapse and it was full of spybots, trojans and some missing stuff his kids (he says) had done (little kids like to click on stuff and he has 4 kids under 6 years old...).
Anyway, I needed to re-install the whole system back to the original state. GW2K docs seemed to make that a piece of cake.
Everything went well until the turkeys at GW2K threw me a curve - their CD re-install system just stinks. The CDs don't seem to AUTOSTART very well, the OS looks different than original (fo example - just plain ole XP Home instead of the neat-looking "Media Center" branding on the startup splash page), and then I got to a real problem.
The SB0360 Audigy 2 ZS (Platinum Pro, I think) driver from GW2K installed OK, but the associated apps CD keeps spitting back that it doesn't find a "Sound Blaster" card.
The Device Manager says its a Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS.
I've tried to use updates from CL but they also spit at me - "No Sound Blaster found, Exiting".
It seems that the Plug and Play only likes the GW2K driver, but the Apps CD don't like the "Creative" part, and so it balks. The CL drivers give the same message.
GW2K tells me to contact Creative Labs or (haaaa) SAM'S, the purchasing store.
    Talk about the royal runaround...
Anyway, anyone got any good ideas?
I can't seem to find anything on the net to help.
    I'm about Google-ed out.
    Thanks in advance!
    P.S.
I do have sound, Music CDs play fine and Windows sounds work OK.
I just need to install those Audigy Apps from the GW2K CD...

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Gigaworks speakers

Greetings All. I was just wondering how the card and speakers connect. Does the optical on the breakout box get used or do you use the plugs on the actual card?
    Also
What functions and imputs etc. does the gigaworks speakers have? Do they have an optical imput etc? A basic description would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I have lost the install disc that came with the card so now I need to find some other way to get all the programs. I have tried the THX Console update file but that just spits out an error saying cannot find relati've components.
So does anyone know where I can get this program or anything that will do it'ss job because I really need to configure my 7. system as you can notice the difference when 7. is not properly configured in movies and games.

  • Problems with SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and autoexec.nt and running games. HE

Hey, this is my first post here so Hello all!
Just wondering if anyone can help me.
Ever since i've installed my SB Audigy 2 zs platinum pro soundcard the following error has occurred whenever I attempt to play a dos-based game:
    <location of game file>
c:\WINDOWS\System32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
I've looked for solutions but I've only found things relating to old old soundblaster cards etc and not an audigy 2. One solution was to copy the autoexec.nt file from the windows\repair folder into the system32 folder. It tried it and yes it worked for the games, but I then had no soundcard and had to move the file back, uninstall and reinstall my audigy 2 all over again. The games still bring up this error. The error also occurred when I tried running Band in a Box .
    So I'm really stuck.
    Thanks for any help.

In that case, have you try updating the latest BIOS, chipset driver, USB driver(if any) from your mainboard website.

  • Windows 7 64bit with Audigy 2 ZS platinum - live recording work impossible

The only reason to own a SB platinum audigy solution is for recording work.
Why is Microsoft 7 in beta for a year and yet there are no workable drivers
for the recording features of this soundcard? I have the support release
of Home Premium which came out October 22nd.
The stable driver from Creative has no controls for level of the input. You can hear
the input pass through to the speakers at a fixed medium level,
but recording applications (e.g. audacity, etc.) cannot get the input signal at all.
The beta driver from Sept 2009 does support the levels for inputs such as Aux2
(guitar jack), but now the latency is way too high, and the sound is distorted. I have
tried a few input sampling rates other than the default but it appears to have
no impact on the latency. I think the latency is between 50 and 50 ms. It is
unusable. This latency does not occur on the same hardware and configuration
    dual booting to Windows XP.
If the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum is not going to be supported soon for all of the features
(minus game port) which worked in Windows XP, I would like a recommendation
for an alternate product which will be well supported in Windows 7.
Don't tell us to ask Microsoft when the drivers will be ready and working.
Microsoft is telling us to ask Creative Labs for this solution.

N I have the same problem! So frustrating!
Well, I did some digging for the answer to this, how fortunate that there is a solution!
If you disable then re-enable the Windows Audio service, it should fix it until the next time you restart your computer. (I only did it once, but you may have to do it more than once).

  • Connecting ddts 100 to gigaworks 7.1 with audigy 2 zs

    Hello,
I know you have probably been asked this before, but how do you connect the ddts 100 decoder to gigaworks 7.1 speakers?
I have an audigy 2 zs card aslo.
I connected it as best as I could see from the instruction manual but the speakers are still controlled from the sudio pod you get with the spekers themselves, not the decoder.
Do I have to use the switch box? I think I am missing something really obvious but I dont know!
    help!

yep you need to use the switch box, and attach cables to both decoder and pc then use switch to decoder to alter volume with decoder and control pod.

  • Creative Live Drive 2 with Audigy 2 C

I bought my Audigy 2 card with some dismay at not being able to afford the platinum edition with its Li've Dri've. Well 2 yeas later Im proud to say I found for ?30 a Li've Dri've 2 bay, that can be used with my card. I eagerly installed the dri've in and booted up. Then i realised that I had no drivers for it. "No matter" I thought "Ill find them on the web". Well 3 days later I have not found them and my ?30 is going to waste and is sitting there doing nothing. I have downloaded the Li'veDrvUniPack and that opens and then says it finds no such creative device and promptly closes. I know this wont fall on deaf ears (eyes?) so thank you for your help.

You need an Audigy 2 or 2 Zs Dri've, but I presume that's just a semantic matter.
I'd suggest contacting CL Customer Support about getting the Software CD for the A2 Platinum as a replacement part.

  • Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro with onboard so

    Hi everyone
I've just had the above card with no I/O module...just the card only.
The sound for me is awesome from my P5800 speakers....the one fly in the ointment is - as it doesn't have a mic input - I've had to enable the onboard sound but I cant get working.... I know that they can co-exist in the same machine as others on another forum I visit, have this set up...
With the audigy in the PC, the onboard soundmax drivers wouldn't install, so I had to pull the card and the onboard got recognised and everything worked ok...recording through mic no probs...
Before I re-installed the audigy, I checked windows sound settings and had recording set to the soundmax/onboard and the playback as being from the 'modem #0 line playback' as it was the only other option available, thinking that the audigy might pinch back the 'rights' after rebooting......it did....plus the recording, no problem I though, just put it back to the onboard....arrggh - no onboard available on the drop down box, it had disappeared.
The soundmax icon is still in the systray, but if I click on it, nothing happens at all...no errors, nothing!
My motherboard is the Asus k8v se deluxe....bit stuck now as what to try...any ideas?
    Thanks if you can help.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply
No - it's not there on the drop down now...re-slotting the audigy has made it disappear from the list of available devices, as I said though, the icon for Soundmax is still sitting in the systray and r/clicking it will invoke all of the options.....apart from 'Soundmax Control Panel'.....

  • Audigy 2 zs Platinum Pro...Need Impedance on ALL inputs...CREATIVE ARE YOU LISTENI

    on the I/O console:
line-in is also mic-in (when the Gain is turned to ON)
could someone provide me with information on BOTH CHANNELS of the MIC-IN (when the Gain is set to ON)
there is a Left and Right channel (remember its a stereo connector that goes in there)
then after that line-2 and line-3 would be great to know also which are just regular (non dual mode) switches.
i know CREATIVE CLAIMS that the MIC-IN on this I/O console = 600ohms but what is it on EACH CHANNEL?
when i measure the Right channel i get around 720ohms but when i measure the Left channel its about 350ohms.
now i need the specs so i can determine if this is a piece of defecti've equipment or not!
so creative please reply as soon as possible.
i didnt reply over the weekend because i didnt think you all would read the forums then so i waited saturday and sunday until today.
    thank-you

I'd give you a stereo adapter, too, since you might want to use the port as line-in. However, you may not be aware that a mono /4" plug fits in a "stereo" /4" jack. The mono plug has no ring, but it has a longer sleeve, which means that the ring contact and the sleeve contact in the jack get connected together, in that case. The same thing is true of /8" plugs and jacks, so the more general /8" female to /4" male adapter is the "stereo,"? three-contact version. If you plug a mono plug into a stereo input, you will ground the right-channel input, which means you will get the left channel, but the right channel signal will be 0 volts and will end up silent. If I were to design a dual-purpose line/mic jack, I'd have to use a stereo jack, but I could switch what I do with the input signals, ignoring the right channel in mic mode, running the left signal through a mic preamp circuit, and sending the preamp output to both channels, so the mic signal is panned to the middle of the stereo field, instead of hard left.

    <IMG height= alt="" src="http://forums.creative.com/i/p.gif" width= border=0>
I'm having problems with my mic settings when using built-in game comms such as Half Life Counterstrike source and Battlefield 2...
I have my mic connected to Line / Mic on my Audigy External Panel which works fine when using voice comms such as Teamspeak and Ventrillo but when i load up any of the mentioned games it changes my settings from Line / Mic to just Mic, there is another Mic connection to the soundcard at the back as opposed to the Line / Mic connection on the external Panel but it doesn't appear to be working. Any ideas ?

Nevermind after extensi've searching in forums using several keywords i found this.. http://forums.creative.com/creativel...id=5203#M29642
Bit disapointed I didn't get a reply from any Creative tech heads though, as it is the 2nd time I posted about this same problem when Counterstrike Source originally came out
So I have to concede that i will think again when purchasing a ?40 product from creative when there is a lack of basic support :smileyindifferent:
