Play music from itunes over wifi on iphone (as soundbridge to Hi-FI)

Hey you all,
is there a tool around to play music over wifi on the iphone?
i have connected the iphone via the dockingstation to my hifi system.
so i can listen to internet streams and so on without using a cable from macbook to my hifi system....
but now i want to play all my music from itunes or another program on my iphone.
hope you know what i want...
i mean, the airport accesspoint can do so !?!?

I am not aware of any utility which will stream music from iTunes to the iPhone.
For what you are trying to accomplish, I would recommend the AirPort Express Base station in the Apple Store. A combination of this and the remote app for the iPhone would allow you to stream music to your HiFi system and use the iPhone as a controller - which I can say from personal experience is a very nice combination.

Try opening iTunes preferences. Then click on advanced tab. Then uncheck "Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library." By default, iTunes copies music to its own media folder when you use iTunes to play the music.

That's normal. A network drive won't mount by itself. You may want to add the drive to your login items and/or the login items of your boy's account.

Is that a USB drive? How have you defined access to that drive in AirPort Utility? If you set it to "Secure Shared Disks" "With accounts", you'll have to add his account.

I am playing my Itunes music via Airport Express over connected speakers successfully. Is it also possible to play music from internet over these airport express connected speakers? For example playing the sounds of a video over the speakers which are connected to the Airport Express? Thx in advance for any helpfull suggestions.

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like you are returning to an old iPhone that has been erased and you would like to set it up as a new device without restoring from a backup which would affect the name of your iPhone, as well as the contents therein. Basically, it seems like you may be stuck on a screen that is asking if you would like to restore your device from the backup that is filed under the name of your new iPhone, or if you would like to set up the device as a new device. I would suggest that you set it up as a new device to achieve your desired results.

Sometimes the database files inside your iTunes Library can get corrupted.
Try to rebuild the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" as described here:

I'm not sure if "Consolidate" can help in this situation - it will move all songs into your iTunes Library, so that they can be easier found, but not recreate the datbase files.

Apple TV 3 not playing music from iTunes Match.

Hi Peeps,
I am unable to access music on iTunes Match on ATV 3. However Match works fine on my Windows based PC and my iPhone 5.
I can see all albums and artwork on ATV 3 but when I select to play I get "An error occurred loading this content". Netflix and other app previews etc work fine.
The software is up to date and I have tried restoring and re-booting with no success.
Can anyone help???

Thanks for getting back to me my problem is playinhg music from ATV3
I have tried restarting the router but no change.
However the ATV3 has the artist, cover artwork etc. but does not seem to be able to play (stream) and I still get the error message.
My iphone and PC currently play music from Match on the same network as the ATV3. I am even able to airplay music from laptop to ATV3 but not directly from ATV3.
So thanks for your help but this has not fixed the problem. I have never had these problems before.

Apple TV plays music from Itunes for 1 second only

The Apple TV sees all my music from Itunes and I can select any of the tracks but when I play one the music only plays for 1 second before stopping. Sometimes I'll hear the 1 second of music, sometimes not. I've reset all of my settings on the Apple TV. Music plays from Itunes out of my laptop when I have the device set to computer. If I select Apple TV as the device, the song wont play and just hangs, but on the television bottom left corner it will show the track information as though it was going to play for one second before it changes to a blank treble clef image labled "untitled". It cannot be done (legally), as you own the music, not the other person. They will have to buy the music from iTunes, the same way you did.
Unless, of course, it is not music purchased from the iTunes store. Then you could have them copy the music file to their computer and sync it to their iPhone from their computer.

Sounds to me like iTunes lost track of your music. You should probably search your computer for the files, and then add them back to your library (oh, and when you do that, you should delete the old library entry, unless you like duplicates.)
