Play music in my car with a USB connection

My car has a USB connection for audio input. When I connect the car with the USB cable that came with my 8530 to my phone, the radio does not detect that I have connected it.
My question is, can I play music through the USB port on my CURVE 8530 and how do I enable this feature if I do have it.
PS. This is my first smart phone, and I love my CURVE to death.

I'm pretty sure you can't do this. The only way for this to work is if your car has an AUX wire input. Most newer cars do have this.

I have a aftermarket high end stereo in my ride and this was the best option since a USB connection is digital and it charges the phone while plugged in, so no messy cables. After a over the air android update to the "Ice Cream Sandwich" version I can no longer do this as my steareo just spits an error message at me saying "No Support". When I inquired about this at my local Verizon retailer they kept pushing a car dock accessory package at me that would connect it to my radio thru the auxilary port. the drawback is however that I would now have to have a car charger cable to keep my droid from dying while in use. It all sounded like a marketing ploy to move accessories to me and quite frankly im more then a bit annoyed about it. I despise Apple products in all forms and refuse to drop additional cash on an Ipod. Is there a way to undo the Ice Cream Sandwich update or does anyone know of a setting that will allow music play thru the USB cable like it did before? I tried all the USB function settings, Mass Storage, Media etc... all say No Support on my trucks head unit now.

To answer the first part of the question, by keeping the phone stock, there is no way to go back to GingerBread. Once you did the upgrade, it wrote itself in the boot loader, and any time you factory reset, it will go to Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, as SmashOgre mentioned, there are other ways to do it, but they cannot be discussed here.
As far as your phone not working on your radio anymore, I am afraid I don't have access to a radio like that to test it with, so I can't tell you if it is an issue with your phone in particular or not.

Had the same issue with my Nissan Rogue 2011.
This listed below will fix it...
Go to General > Restrictions > CarPlay -- Make sure Carplay is DISABLED. (The new IOS 8 enables this on default)
Go to General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
The Nissan Rogue radio system was never designed to work with CarPlay. By default, CarPlay feature comes enabled when you install IOS 8. Suckz, right?

IPhone 4 using iOS 6.0.1 will not play music through my car stereo

I have an iPhone 4 since it became available on Verizon's network. I have had no issues with my phone since I began using it. I own a 2008 VW Rabbit with the optional iPhone/iPod docking station to play music through the car's stereo. I purchased a docking extention cable because my phone would not fit on the docking connector properly due to my phone case. Everything has been working beautifully, sans the charging feature, until a few weeks ago. Normally, I would start the iPod app, load the song or playlist I want to play, and plug it in to begin hearing my music. However, recently the music stopped playing through my car speakers and only played through the built-in speakers on my phone once plugged into the docking station. I have tried hard-rebooting (holding home button/sleep button at same time until Apple logo appears), soft rebooting (holding sleep button to slide power off), exiting all open apps, opening/closing iPod app, changing different settings through the Settings app, etc. I am at my wits' end. I use my phone to listen to my loaded music, Pandora and Slacker Radio. It has gotten really boring listening to local radio during my commutes. Please Community, help me!

i have same problem in UK - my phone no longer works with my car cable - it will charge the phone, my ipad works fine, as does my old itouch so I know that the cable is ok. It comes up with no connection even though it is charging it. It used to be fine I dont understand why this would happen?

You'll need to switch off iTunes Match on the device & sync the iPod with iTunes as hopefully you've kept all your music on your PC.

I connect my ATV2 to my amplifier using HDMI cable and then an HDMI cable out to the TV...
This works great for me as I don't have to have the TV on to listen to music from my stereo...
If you don't have HDMI or Optical in on your amplifier, you would need an adapter as mentioned above...

If it charges when connected to a computer USB, it can't be the phone. Try a different cable.

At what point is the video quality bad? Is it bad on capture? I would recommend using an s-video 1394 firewire converter instead. They capture the video at a higher bit rate. If you have a lot of 8mm tapes to capture, invest in a stand alone DVD recorder. They capture and compress in one shot. If you need to rip it back from the DVD into iMovie again, I would recommend using DVDxDV.

My iPhone 4 will no longer play music in my car. I need help.

For over two years, my iphone has played music when hooked up to the ipod connector in hmy car. When I plug it in, the "charging not supported..." box still pops up but no music plays. My sister's phone will play in my car, so it is not a problem with anything in my car. And when I tried to play my phone in her car, it would charge, but again, no music would play. The problem has to be with my phone, but I haven't done anything different with it. Any ideas or suggestions to fix this?

Standard steps from the manual are to restart, reset, restore. which of those have you done?
