Play music on iPhone in my car

how can I play the music on my iPhone in the car? I purchased monster mini-stereo cable to connect the iphone to the aux jack in my car, however they are not compatible. I called Apple and was advised to purchase the Belkin mini-stereo cable. I did, however it's not capatible either (only plays through the iphone speaker). Help!

Note to others reading this thread: the iphone, while guaranteed compatible with headphone-based equipment (if you have a skinny enough male connector), is very shaky in terms of 5G ipod speaker compatibility. Anything like alarm clocks don't seem to be able to control the iphone through its dock connector. With most ipod based speaker sets, the dock connector will only actually connect (data-wise) with the iphone at certain angles which can be both finnicky and difficult, if not impossible to keep. Also some devices, like the Griffin car charger/radio transmitter will charge the iphone but will not play music through it.
In other words, beware what you buy for the iphone. Though it's a great product, its ability to work with peripherals is greatly impaired.

You may need to do a Restore in iTunes.
Clicking sounds from an iPod that has a hard drive is probably not a good thing.  It is possible that your iPod's hard drive is becoming unreliable.

Ever since I updated the operating system, itune doesn't play music on iphone 4. If it plays, it plays only one song and gets stuck. I've tried to reconnect to the computer to see whethere there has been missing portion during the upgrade... but not really. does anyone have the same issue?

    What does "gets stuck" mean?
    It repeats?
    It stops playing?
Have you tried the basics from the manual?  Restart.  Reset.  Restore.

  • While playing music in iphone, the view switches too easily to landscape

While playing music in iphone, the view switches too easily to landscape. All I have to do is rotate the Iphone by what seems like only a few degrees, and it gets stuck in landscape (cover art) view. To get it back in portrait (current track) view, I have to rotate it again. Is there a way to get rid of the landscape view? I hardly ever want to see cover art not related to the current track.

    lol.
I meant that it barely takes a tilt for it to turn. For example, if I'm wearing it on a belt clip. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity?

  • AirPort Express has weak signal while playing music from Iphone, intermittent play

AirPort Express has weak signal while playing music from Iphone, intermittent play

I'm having the same problem, even more:
    - Watching movies over AppleTV: switches off every 20min (sleep mode).
    - Listening to iTunes music ofer AirPlay: the same.
    - A whole confusion with switching airplay destinations (AppleTV, AirportExpress) over iPhone remote app. Sometimes remote cannot find my library anymore
    - Before, I was able to multitask: stream a DVD to AppleTV, using airplay mirroring, and simultaneously stream music from iTunes on the same computer, over the iTunes airplay selector, to loudspeakers connected to AirportExpress. No longer possible.
I've grown a big Apple fan in short time, proudly living  what for others is the future (your media stored anyhwere, controlled from anywhere, played anywhere, stop thinking in terms of devices). And, I've learnt to savour the  moments when you can look your Microsoft friends deep in the eyes and say: "The big difference with Apple  - it just works"...
At the moment, I'm trying not to invite my friends.

  • Play music on iphone through bluetooth in car

Can I play music stored on my iphone through the bluetooth in my car? It is paired and I can use the phone - no problems there.

I've sorted this to an extent. It seems if iPod is 'running' - ie i've played a tune and hit pause - it will connect to the head unit and start playing automatically. If i've not "run" iPod since switching the phone on then it's not possible to select 'streaming' on the Blaupunkt.
It's good enough but I'm sure it's not how it's meant to work.

  • Can't play music with iPhone 4

    iTunes 10.5, iMac 10.7.2, iPhone 4 software 5.0
After the updates, I can't listen music via iPhone. After clicking the play button, no sound comes out and progress bar for music does not move, but the play button stays 'on". I can listen music through my iPhone from iTune store, I can listen audio books. I thought that it could be due to some error during sync, but after re sync ing whole music library, nothing has changed. I also have iPad, but that works well with new update.
    Anybody has any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem with the 3GS. Podcasts work fine. Books, fine.
Music I downloaded from itunes, I haven't checked it all, but a spot check looks like that music works.
Music imported from CD? Doesn't seem to work. Similar experience as above of it appearing to play, but the status bar doesn't move and there's no sound.
Or, it says it's playing a song, but it's really playing another song that I downloaded from itunes at some point by a totally different artist...
move info to icloud? HA. Not a chance.
Anyone have suggestions as to how to fix the music problem?

  • Playing music on iPhone 5, multiple tracks lose audio partway into the song

When playing music on my iPhone 5, multiple tracks lose audio partway into the song, even though the track is still playing.
I have tried re-syncing music to the phone several times. This will fix the problem for some tracks, but then re-create the problem in other tracks. Also, I have switched from syncing the entire library to only syncing a few playlists at a time. What can I do?

    Hi Descending!
If your songs are playing correctly in iTunes on your computer, then it sounds like you will want to restore your iPhone using this article:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software

If the songs do not play correctly in iTunes on your computer, then you will want to recreate your library by following the steps in this article:

  • Can 2 bluetooth speakers be used at the same time to play music from iPhone 4?

I have two Sharper Image Bluetooth Speakers.  Right now, i am just able to play on one at a time from my IPhone.   I want to play music over both at the same time.  I want one inside my house and one outside.  Is there some app that would split the music to both speakers at the same time?  (Maybe something that splits the Left channel to one and the Right channel to the other?)

    No

  • IHome iA91 will not play music from iPhone 4

    Hey everybody,
I'm having an issue that seems to be fairly common, but lacks a solid solution.
Whenever I dock my iPhone 4, the iHome iA91 will not play music.  My iPhone continues to play music through its own speakers, but will not use the iHome's speakers.  A message also pops up on my phone saying, "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPhone," even though the iHome iA91 lists the iPhone 4 as compatible.  On top of that, it worked when I first got the iHome and now it suddenly will not play my phone.  The volume bar on the iPhone also randomly disappears and returns while it's docked.
I have tried resetting my phone (home+power), I have restored my phone to stock, I have power cycled the iHome, all to no avail.  The iHome speakers will still play the radio and alarms work as usual, and my phone charges without issues.
I'm getting quite frustrated and am desperately seeking an answer.  Thanks in advance to everyone who reads or replies.

    Hi Adam,
Try the steps mentioned below to resolve the issue:
    1. Disconnect iPhone from Docking System, restart both the System and the iPhone and then reconnect iPhone to the System.
    2. If this didn't helps, try resetting both the units. You can reset the Docking System by pressing RESET at base using pin pointed object like paper clip.
    3. Also, try updating iPhone and to latest version and check if that helps.
NOTE: If iPhone has the case or cover, the device may not be set correctly. Remove the case or cover from the iPhone and set the device again.
