Play music with yamaha RX-V573

I have a yamaha RX-V573 receiver that used to play music from my iphone via the serial connection without difficulty. Now after the latest IOS upgrade the music will play but I can no longer start the music with the receiver's remote as I could before. The phone connects to the receiver fine and I can choose 'music' or 'video' and pick a song but the song will not start. I have to go into the phone and the music app and start it manually. The remote will them advance the songs if needed.
Any help would be appreciated.

About all that can be suggested is to use the feedback form and talk to Apple. They have communicated with some users, trying to get more info to find out just what the battery drain is so they can fix it. Unfortunately with the myriad of operating systems, apps and individual tweaks, there could be several combinations of settings that are draining the battery.
My personal suspicion is that it has something to do with iCloud and the wifi syncing. (My ipad, before I changed the setting, was reaching out to find a sync on a regular basis. And it may still be doing so, however I set my iTunes to not automatically open to keep my device from trying to sync several times in an evening...not to mention the constant aggravation of iTunes opening regularly)
That said, I could be wrong and it could be an app that users have in common, or several apps.

This category is for iPod shuffle. Is that the type of iPod you have, because your description of the problem does not sound like it's about a shuffle? If it's not a shuffle, what is the iPod model...?
There is music there and I can play it connected to laptop.
Are you doing the playing using the iPod, or are you playing the music using iTunes on the laptop?

Go to settings/music/volume limit tap on that. Make sure it is set to OFF and when you tap it that the slider is at max

PLAYING MUSIC WITH MY BB 8100

I suddenly noticed that my BB 8100 no longer play a music to the end as usual. It rather stops on its own accord and returns to the home page just like that.
I will really appreciate how to get this rectified cos i love playing music with it.
Moreso, i'm yet to use the wireless service on my BB, i'll also welcome simple guidelines on this.

Is there a way play music with the Laptop closed? I have a MacBook Pro w/Retina display.

You'll either need to have a keyboard and monitor attached so you can wake the computer with the screen closed or use one of the third-party utilities that keeps the MBP from sleeping when you close the lid such as InsomniaX.

6 Gen Nano Plays Music With Static.

My 6th gen. nano is playing music with static. I have tried replacing apple earbuds, restoring the nano, and modifying the volume limit and sound checking. No history of water damage or trauma to the unit. Any suggestions?

I assume you've listened to the same songs using iTunes, and there is no static there... If you've tried different headphones and a Restore (using iTunes) already, there is probably something wrong with the nano.
Hopefully, it is still within one year from purchase date, and you can contact Apple (or make a reservation at an Apple Store Genius Bar), to see about getting it replaced under warranty. Even if it's out of warranty, if there is a nearby Apple Store, you may want to have Apple tech support at the Genius Bar take a look at it.

Hi,I have an ipod touch 2G and i just got a Xstreme Mac Docking station that Is made For IOS Products.It says that it will work with ipod touch 2G.it worked fine till this morning,it will charge but wont play music.

- Make sure the iPod is fully sated in the dock. Also make sure that there is no foreign material in the male and female dock connectors. Also look for bend or corroded contacts and other abnormalities
- Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod

Just to echo the previous poster really. There's no way to deactivate this from the operating system without using some kind of hack, but that's precisely the problem.
You may also want to have a look at another post earlier on the forum entitled 'turninng off the sleep mode' or something similar; they were asking the same kind of question. The upshot seems to be that the build up of heat caused by the machine operating with the lid closed might cause some damage to the hardware. An over-reaction, perhaps, but it's definitely worth being very careful, especially when tampering with options Apple doesn't make available as standard.

How can I disable wifi while playing music with locked ipod touch?

When I play music and lock the iPod touch, the wifi stays on which drains more battery than is needed. I don't want to turn off wifi in Settings since I like the flexibility to unlock the iPod and quickly check email, browse the web while listing to music (without going into settings, turn it on, browse, go back to settings and turn it off). Once I lock the iPod while playing music, I'd like the wifi to turn off. I know it will stay on while streaming that is expected, but why is the wifi staying on when playing music of the iPod?? Is there a way to do what I am asking? I don't recall having this issue with OS 1.x or 2.x. Also I have seen some posts asking for the opposite (leave the wifi on when not playing music and iPod is locked). These posts acknowledge that wifi stays on while playing music, so it seems to be 'feature' or bug in the OS.

henry is correct. you can't do that.
however, for what it's worth, i have found that wifi connection is similar to mobile phone network connection. i.e. if a phone is searching for a network, it takes up huge amounts of battery, but if it is constantly connected, it doesn't. so it is the 'search' procedure which drains the battery. similarly with my iPod touch. if it is connected to my home wifi network, but i am not using the wifi connection, the battery will not drain significantly. it's when i'm away from home and forget to switch it off that the battery drains. or when i am using it constantly (like listening to a 3.5 hr radio show using safari)

Windows crashs when playing music with iTunes

I have a problem with my iTunes. Since last week my Windows crashes when I start to listen to music over iTunes. I have already tried to re install Windows and have updated all the drivers for my hardware but there has still nothing changed.
When I'm updating my iPod with iTunes there is no problem. It only crashes when I started to listen to music with iTunes. I can still listen to music over other music programs like Winamp.
Can anybody help me?... or does anybody know what the reason could be for that?

are you getting a blue screen? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it?
if you don't see a blue screen (or just get a flash of a blue screen), use Jonathan's technique to display any hidden ones:

Sound stops while playing music with iTunes Match

While playing music from iTunes Match, the sound stops. The music continues to play but there is no sound. If I double click the song, the sound will start again. But after that song is finished and it advances to the next song. The sound will stop again and I have to double click the song again. Other sounds on my MB-Air will still work. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks

It happens to me too. I listen the most on my iPhone. Song is playing, but no sound. Sometimes I have to close the app and relaunch to recover. Very annoying.
