Play Station 3 and WRT54G Recent Problem

My Play Station 3 and WRT54G DID work fine (connecting to internet) and now it doesn't. Can't connect to the Internet with WRT54G now. Tried Chat Line but since Router is out of Warranty, they won't talk to me without $$$$. What do you do to solve this issue. It DID work. Have V3. Downloaded new software v4.21.1 but haven't installed it. Will this be of any help or will it get worse. I did hook up the Play Station 3 via a WIRED Linksys Router and it works fine so Play Station 3 is okay.

Before your Connect your PS3 to your wireless network, you need to check the wireless settings of your Router (SSID, Security key).
On your Computer, Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Once you login to the setup page of your Router, Click on the Wireless tab and check whats the Wireless Network Name, and then again you need to click on the sub tab "Wireless Security" and check the Security Mode and Security Key....
On your PS3, Search for your Wireless Network and attempt to connect to your wireless network....

NOTE: Now I tried disabling the crossfade feature and it worked, started to count again. But I like crossfade, I don't want to keep it off.

I think I got this figured out. The playcount does update, but not how the previous iPod models update their playcount. Instead of immediately updating the playcount right after you finish the song like the older iPod models, iPod Touch keeps the updates in memory. The next time you connect to iTunes it'll sync those playcounts in memory to the actual songs itself, effectively updating the playcount of the songs only after connecting to iTunes. I have set my syncing manually. That's why after connecting to iTunes, my playcounts are updated. BUT it doesn't solve the mystery of my Smart Playlist. Even though in iTunes, the correct songs are listed, in the iPod Touch, it shows the old playlist.
Don't you just hate that? It was working fine before on non-iPod touch models. Now we have to live with this new bug. I just hope when they release software 2.0 it fixes these bugs and that they *give it for free!* People shouldn't be charged on something they should have gotten as a support!

I have an Airport Extreme Base Station and have recently upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now airport utility won't work with my base station so I bought a Time Capsule. For the life of me I can't make the substitution work and only see a blinking amber light.

Resetting the password you will need to do for each device... the utility cannot even see those old units.
So you will have to do it for each one.. think it through.. because as you change passwords the others will lose connection.. so start from the express which are wireless extending .. change those first.. and go back up the chain.. as each one changes it will drop off the network.. until you reach extreme and change that. Then you might need to reboot the whole network to get everything talking again. If something goes wrong.. just pluck that one out of the mix and plug in ethernet.. reset and redo the setup. That is my preferred method anyway.. do everything in isolation one by one. By ethernet and then nothing goes wrong.

You cannot partition a network disk. And apple provided no tools for it in the TC itself. You can pull the disk out and partition it but that voids your warranty. (although done with care who is to know).

Mixing TM and data on the TC is worth planning carefully. They don't necessarily sit happily together.

Play Station Plus Online Storage Problem

So, my Play Station Plus account expired. I was trying to recover my data on Sistem Online Storage, but it didn't let me. It said for me to buy again the Ps Plus membership,and it still was using my memory. Can someone help me recover the data please?

You can only use the cloud storage when you have an active PS Plus subscription. Unless you renew it, you can't use it.

G-Drive and Airport recent problems

About every hour or so the drive that is connected to my airport will automatically wind down. This occurrence started to happen shortly after the system was updated to 7.4.2.
I have isolated the G-Drive and had no problems with it running alone.
Is there a way to stop this from happening without resetting the system?

I'm having the same issue. My 2 G-Drives were working and then all of a sudden stopped when connected to the AE. Works just fine when connected directly to the MBP.
Has anyone found a fix for this? Really quite annoying.

Mac Mini and Bluetooth Recent Problems (Mighty Mouse, Wireless Keyboard)

I have an issue with my Mac Mini.
We had a storm here recently, so I switched my Mac off. After that, I turned it on, but to my surprise my Wireless Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keybord do not function any more. The green dot under the mouse nad keyboard flashes for a few seconds and turns off. I tried to plug my regular mouse and keyboard but it seems the do not work too. Any solutions?

i dont know if you have another mac around but have you tried repairing the disk by putting it into Target disk mode and hooking up another mac to it? if nothing else, try putting the install CD/DVD and boot from there by holding down "c" as it boots. if that works then it may just be a bad BT card. if it doesnt work then you may have bad usb ports. i hope you have applecare!
a tip for bluetooth HIDs, spread them apart. you will experience problems on occasion where their signals get crossed and they fail to sync right.
by the way, if you went the extra mile to turn off your mac because you were concerned about it, then why didnt you just unplug it from the outlet?

WRT54G recent problem

I have the router connected through my modem on my desktop and I've never had any problems getting a wireless connection on my laptop, up until the past week. I'm not sure what has happened, however my laptop is no longer finding my wireless network (it is picking up the neighbors networks still, so I don't think the problem is with my laptop). I even tried setting the laptop next to the router, I thought maybe there was some type of recent interference, but it still isn't working. Like I said, I had no problems until about a week ago.
I updated the firmware on the router tonight hoping that would have something to do with the problem, but still had no luck. I've rebooted my desktop, modem, and router, and I'm still having the same problem. The router appears to be working correctly, all of the same lights are lit as they've always been. Nothing appears to have changed.
Any suggestions on what I should try?

try changing the channel to 11..go to advance wireless settings..set beacon: 50, rts: 2304, fragmentation: 2304 then save the settings..afterwards..go to your laptop wherein you can view your wireless networks..go to change advance settings then go to wireless networks..on wireless networks, go to preferred networks and remove everything..click on add..then type in your ssid which is johnsonhome..uncheck the key is provided then type in your wep key 1 on the network key and confirm network key..click on ok..then restart your laptop..once its back on check if you are online wirelessly..if not..tell me whats the ip address that you are getting by going to command prompt and do ipconfig...

PS3 play station 3 controller connection problem

Hello All,
I connected PS3 controller to Mac mini (OS Mavericks). When I press PS button on the controller it says connected in bluetooth menu of the OS. However, when I start any game, it does not see the controller.
At the same time, if I plug the controller with USB cable, games recognize the controller.

The best solution is to use Ethernet. Other than that you can try changing the channel used by the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) until you find a channel which works better or you run out of channels. See KB 58543, AirPort: Potential sources of interference.

Sony Play Station with WRT54G

I've used routers for years ,but hooking one up to a SONY Playstation 3 is driving me batty. Any help from someone who has gone through the process. I can't seem to get past the point where it asks for the SSID name ( which I think to be linksys.

What model iPod and iOS works and which does not?
Sometimes a 4G iPod will not fully sead in the dock because its case configuration is different that previous models.
Also, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility.
Have you checked the dock manufactuer's support stie for compatibility?

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

I think that is happening is that the microphone is on during this recording. If you play the music through the iPhone speakers, it will record this sound, albeit at very poor quality. If you say anything (or laugh uproariously as I did while watching the app in action, then that, too, get recorded.
I am still looking for the solution we all want, which is to save the audio in reasonable quality.
Anyone out there with some ideas?

I'm going to guess videos buffer for a while also...
Two possibilities, one is you should close apps on the iPad, the other is your internet speed is not able to handle the demands of a high speed device.
To close apps: Double click home button, swipe up to close the apps.
To solve internet problem, contact your provider. Basic internet is not enough for video games and movies. Your router may be old and slow.
