Play videos on my Zen V Plus (4

Hey guys, listen i got a question:Some AVI format videos can't play in my Zen V PLus (4GB) because a window appears saying that the file needs a DIB codec, kinda... And when i try to convert some mpeg, FRL, mp4, mov an another format videos in the ZEN V Plus Media Explorer software, it sez that the conversion isn t correct or that those formats aren t recognized by the software.What can i do I want to see more videos on my Zen V PLus, but i can't, help me please.... I ll be appreciate with the answers...

Ok, now I'm starting to think the screen is about to die completely. The upper left cornere is becoming darker and darker, and it's also spreading out to the rest of the screen. Retailer next for a refund..

  • What video formats does zen v plus use?

    i use windows media player and i dont knwo which video format to convert my video to so i can sync it onto my player i have zen v plus i use windows media player i do know how to convert videos but i need to know which format.

    Bumping this thread for a reply from Creative staff. Surely somebody knows the behavior of the Zen V Plus firmware?
    Is it true that the current firmware of the Zen V Plus requires some sort of software sync with Windows XP before the charging "lightning bolt" logo will appear on it, and its battery will take a charge.
    Based on my testing (above), it seems as though plugging it into a passi've 5V USB power supply will supply energy to the player, and run the electronics from the power supply, but it will not charge the battery. Only my Windows XP laptop USB socket will charge the battery.
    Or is it possible that a particular set of charging voltages/currents must be present before the Zen V Plus charges? For example, a higher current than the 700ma and 000ma ratings of the two power adaptors I plugged it into?
    Thank You...

    Why can't zen v plus creators make software upgrade to zen v plus so it could play MP4 videos? Now it supports only uncompressed video and 5 f
    ps.
    it is not good...
    Maybe zen v plus creators could tell us why they didn't made it better...

    I've never tried downloading an MP4 video file, but I know how to download .flv....which is also not supported. The first thing i reccomend is NOT downloading some free converter from the internet. Instead, you should try the following... FOLLOW MY FOLLOWING STEPS IN ORDER TO PUT?UNSUPPORTED VIDEOS ON YOU ZEN V PLUS WITHOUT DOWNLOADING ANYTHYTHING!!!
    . Find you video on that site
    2. Copy that URL (of the video)
    3. Go to convertdirect.com (I strongly reccomend Internet Explorer)
    4. Paste the URL into that box and make sure the box below says .AVI then hit "CONVERT" (if this is already downloaded to your computer and doesnt have a URL then i reccomend you google a MP4 converter---you should deffinitly find one and skip to the next set of steps)
    5. Wait a few minutes for the video to convert itself (you may have get kicked off if the server is too busy, but just try again)
    6. When it is Completely done loading, a link will pop up that you should click to download that video.
    7. Save the video in "My Videos" folder using a short name (preferably without numbers)
    ~~~~Now you have your video downloaded...here comes the trickier part
    You will need the following windows up on you computer
    . The Zen V series Media Explorer window
    2. The Zen V series video converter (found in # of this window list)
    3. Your "My Videos" folder that contains the downloaded video
    4. This window is obtained by clicking on the Zen V Series Media Explorer button...then click "Browse Media"...then click on the video section (that has the icon of a roll of film)
    ~~~~Now that you have all of the windows open you need to...
    . Drag your downloaded video into the Zen V Plus video Converter...just click and drag
    2. Convert that video however you wish
    ***Notice that for whatever reason the video converter can CONVERT the video well to fit the Zen...but it CANT TRANSFER the video to your Zen video player
    3. If you have your "my Videos" file in site at the time (after converting your already converted-on-the-internet video another video will pop up in you file. It is the same exact video as before but now it has a [] (or some other number) behind it. THAT is the video you want.
    4. Have both THAT file window with the video, "My Videos", (that was converted 2x)and another window (#4 on the window list above) out and viewable for another drag and drop
    5. For this step, drag and drop the new video (that popped up after converting using the Zen converter---has a [] after the original name)and drag this to the window (#4 on the window list above) that contains the videos already on you zen --
    ****If you have no videos on your Zen, it should say "Drag and Drop Files Here"
    After that file is dragged into the Video section of you Zen...it will take a second to load and you DONE!!!!!
    I hope this works for you 2. If there is a problem or comment you would like to make. my email adress is [email protected]
    I hope this was a help!

  • Zen V Plus (med

    Thinking on buying a Zen V Plus, and got some questions about the video side of the mp3-player.
    How big files can It handel when converting? What types of files could be converted to .dib?
    Let's see it this way:
    I have an anime episode that I want to check on the Zen V, (Size of the file 72mb)
    Could it work to convert it to .dib? And how big are the file going to be after converting?

    Honestly the video playing on the Zen V Plus isn't that great. Its more of a "in can if you really have too"? feature more then something I would use on a day to day basis.
    In my experience a 6mb compressed AVI file cropped to prior size, ends up being aroudn 50 - 60mb once converted. It really depends on how the original AVI was compressed in the first place. But on the same size I would expect the uncompressed AVI to be around 9 to 0 times the size of the compressed version of the same AVI. For example:? 3minute music Video 28x96 resolution, 5FPS?7,05,658 divx avi????Once edited and converted by video convert for Zen V Plus? 76,333,056?????So "in theory" a 72mb compressed AVI could end up almost 2gb if converted. (Worst case, depends on how the original AVI is encoded in the first place.)?Message Edited by gmandual on 2-7-20062:07 PM

  • Nice Pictures & Videos for my ZEN V Pl

    Hello everybody,
    can somebody tell me where i can get nice pictures & videos for my zen v plus?
    Big Thanks!

    What version of Windows have you got?
    If Vista, it should just work.
    If XP, you need to make sure the SP2 patch has been installed:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx
    Then install Windows Media Player :
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player//default.aspx
    That should make sure the MTP driver is installed.
    You should be able to access your player in Windows Explorer under 'My Computer', or in Windows Media Player (but be careful of synchronisation - it can synchronise you full player to your empty My Music directory...)
    You don't need to install the Creative software, but it should work if you do.

  • Zen V Plus videos on m

    Does anyone know how or what format to convert videos to get them to play using a mac? The creative site says avi and thats what I did but it didnt play on my player. Also, how can you change the background picture?

    The Zen V Plus does not support the playback of compressed video content.
    Which means when you convert an Mpeg video for playback on the Zen V Plus, the video is uncompressed in the final file.
    Which is why they get so large.
    Typically if you convert a 320x240 mpg file down to the 28x96 5fps video format for the Zen V Plus,? the resulting file will still be 8 to 0 times the size of the original due to the lack of video compression being used.

  • Zen Nano Plus: I can't get my CDs to play in original order...He

    Hello. I'm new here.
    I got a Zen Nano Plus 52 mb a few months ago. Installed the software on my computer. I'm not very computer literate.
    Here's what's frustrating me: I can't seem to listen to my CDs in their original order.
    ) I put a CD in my computer
    2) Whether I view the track list in Windows Media Player or in the Creative Media Menu the track list appears in its original order as seen on the CD.
    3) I "rip" the CD to my Nano player.
    4) When I disconnect the player and go to play the album the tracks are all mixed up and not in the original order anymore.
    I've tried some different things but nothing seems to correct the problem. I'm hoping someone can direct me what to do. I'm very confused, as I don't understand much of the computer terminology I read.

    As in other response, the Nano Plus does not read ID tag info for sorting (it does read part of the tag--song name---only for display while that song is playing). Tag info typically includes the track number. Windows Media Player plays tracks in order of track number contained in the ID3 tags. The Nano Plus only sorts by filename. You can rip your tracks in a format that is prefixed by the track number (for filename). This can be done in Windows Media Player and other programs. Somehow you ripped tracks without the track number first (which would solve your problem). You tracks should look like "0-Come Together-Bealtes.wma" or something like this. This is the FILENAME, as you would see in Windows Explorer. The track info is not visible in Windows Explorer views. You can see it from Windows Media Player or Creative Media Source Organizer, though. Other players like Zen Micro and Touch sort tracks and build the library database on ID3 Tag info, not filenames.

  • Deception with VIDEOS in Zen V Plus (Deceiv

Me siento algo enga?ado y estafado.
    Saludos.
    In English:
    Creative tries that ZEN V Plus is the direct competitor of the IPod Nano de Apple, and for my humble opinion almost has obtained it, surpasses in everything to the Nano, but it fails in a thing, THE VIDEOS, the compression and conversion is very bad, the facilitated program doubles the weight of the archi'ves, and single it supports DIB de Microsoft. This detail reduces many points to him, and it leaves below its greater competitor the NANO or any other cheap MP4 it but of of any other mark.
    Advice, improves this aspect in some future update, causes that he is able to reproduce formats MP4, Xvid, Wav, or another file AVI commonest. Also some format of Moving body could be good (Mobile). Or at least an update of the ?Creative Converter grapevines? that allow to select the quality, the size, weight,? of the archi'ves to transform.
    A disappointed user and something displeased by this detail of GREAT IMPORTANCE IN a MP4, since to only listen to music a MP3 had bought me, that hope that they solve this problem as rapidly as possible.
    Subscript: Say in the characteristics of the product that the format that reproduces is DIB, and not the AVI, or at least it specifies it, because if had known to it to not me it had bought it. I feel something decei'ved and swindled.
    My English is not very good, for that reason there am traducio with Google. Excuse to the failures and misspelling.
    Greetings

    Bueno, pues he estado probando varios formatos...

  • Zen V Plus - how to change quality in video convert

    Hi there,
    I?ve just bought the ZEN V Plus MP3 player and I?m very disappointed with the Video Convertor. I would love to watch video files on my ZEN, but, when I want to copy file to memory, I have to convert it with that program, but, it'ss impossible to change the quality, so after the conversion I don?t have a video, that has 40MB, but 500!!! Does anyone know how to change the quality? or better - are there any alternati've programs, which can convert video files to be compatible with my ZEN V Plus?
    Thankes a lot, have fun
    ToM

    googgle up super video converter and convert your videos
    choose the following settings
    Output container: AVI
    Output Video Encoder: Xvid or DivX
    Output Audio Codec: MP3
    Video: no change (resolution
    frame/sec 25
    bitrate 768
    options high quality/48k audio
    Audio: Sampling Freq 4400, channels 2, Bitrate kbps 28
    it should look pretty good, what kind of videos? i.e. google, youtube?

  • Zen V Plus - Track Playing Order Prob

    When? I rip a CD, put it on my Zen V Plus, then play the album, I can move through successi've tracks by moving the joystick to the right, so Track , Track 2, Track 3, etc.....
    However, I've just tried ripping the audio from a music DVD, which involved manually setting the track numbers in MediaMonkey. Once on the Zen they play fine, but right joystick moves between seemingly arbitrary tracks, so Track , Track 5, Track 6, Track 3, Track 2, etc..... Any ideas why it's not behaving as expected? Is it using something other than the track number tag to determine the order?
    Thanks

  • ZEN NANO PLUS PLAYING QUEST

    I just bought the GB Zen Nano Plus and I love it. But today something weird happened, it was playing through my songs as normal the at the end of a certain song when it went to the next track, this next track did not automatically start playing as it should, i saw the solid square icon meaning stop on the player, and to play the track i had to repress the play button then it played through fine, so i erased the track before the track that would not play thinking i would just reload it when i got home, but that didn't fix the problem so i also erased the actual track that would not play until i repressed the play button, finally after erasing a few more tracks in the sequence, it stopped happening, it was weird because everyother track just plays through one after another like it should, my play mode is on normal, each album that i have tracks from on my player is in a separate folder. i am going to reload the problem songs and see what happens, just thought it was weird
    any thoughts?
    thank you

    My N200 plays all the way through until the end of the last folder. You must have a different Play Mode set.

  • Zen Stone Plus: Does it start playing again where i stopped the so

    I hope one og you can help me.
    I want to know if the Zen stone Plus MP3 player starts in the same song after it has been turned off.
    So if I turn it off 3.4min in a song, does it then start at 3.4 when i turn it on again, or does it start from the beginning of the song
    The reason i ask is because i often use the mp3-player to hear "sound-books", and the files are often very long, so its very annoying when my current mp3 player starts from the beginning of the file after i have heard maybe 30 min

    I believe the pattern with the Stones has been that if you plug them in for charging, even if you don't update the mp3s, playlists, etc., they essentially get "reset" when they resume.
    They pick up where you left off as long as you *don't* plug them in for charging, changing what's loaded, etc.
    I don't recall it being possible to do something like set a bookmark.
    Basically, you should have several hours of play / resume time like you desire, but if you have to charge the player at some point, you'll have to go back to the beginning of the file. Not sure if they can alter this in future firmware or not.

  • Zen V Plus plays in random order -- whether I like it or n

    Hi All,
    I searched and read the FAQ but couldn't get an answer that addresses this issue:
    I've put my music on my new Zen V Plus (which I absolutely _love_!) and organized the songs into playlists. When I select a playlist and start it at the first song, however, the order of the songs that follow from there are *completely* random. If I go back and start again, it randomizes the playlist in a different -- random -- order. I've looked through all of the menus and can't find a "random" or "shuffle" setting to turn off. Is this normal? Am I missing some trick?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

    Romerica --
    Thanks for your speedy reply! I looked on the Main Menu and there was no "Play Mode" listed. However, having but recently learned about the "Configure Menu" option (under System/Player Settings for those having this same issue), I went in and discovered that the "Play Mode" was un-checked. I checked it and went back the the Main and voila! "Play Mode" was now listed and I could set it back to Normal. Problem solved! Multo, multo grazie!

  • New zen v plus won't play!!! he

    HI, just spent the day downloading music from napster and my hard dri've to my new creative zen v plus mp3 player. (used to have the muvo and I loved it) and after 3 hours of hard work I unplugged the mp3 from my computer and the green down toggle doesn't seem to take me down on ANY of the menus. Not only that, but it says it is playing, but I can't hear anything and there is no evidence of any files on there. (not that I can check due to not being able to go down to select artists, albums, etc. (in music library menu)? When I look on the explorer on my computer when it (the zen) is plugged in via USB, it shows all my music on the player!!! what is going on? very frustrated as was a birthday present. (by the way, I followed all procedure including the full charge before doing anything with the mp3)

    I've been away from this thread for a while because my new 8GB Zen V Plus simply stopped working. Nothing brought it back to life including reset with a paper clip. One moment it was working...the next it was dead. Fortunately I was within the 30 days of Comp-U-Plus' return policy and they exchanged it. I received the replacement today and guess what.... It has the same problem: It won't update the firmware. It just says the player isn't plugged in even though the repair program finds it just fine. This happens on two different computers. I contacted Creative support as suggested above and they gave me the same links to the same KB articles this forum gives. At this point I'm sure it's not the player and it's the firmware update software. It's time for Creative's engineers to contact people in this forum and figure out what the problem is to correct it. This isn't an isolated problem. Dale
