"playback failed" error when streaming

Hello all, I converted a .mpg file to .3gp file and upload that file on a Darwin Streaming Server. I can connect to the .3gp file using QuickTime, but when I try to view the file by a Sony Ericsson s710 phone I have this error: "playback failed". Can any one help me with this issue? Certainly, the error code will be a Smart or Disk Self Test failure - in either case, it would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced. This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
One possible way to try and retrieve your files from a non-booting drive is to follow the process detailed in the link below. The Ubuntu operating system CD you create can run from the CD alone ( ie it doesn't have to install on the Hard Drive ) and I've often found it to be successful in retrieving data even from a failing Hard Drive. When you've created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can back up your existing files.

I am working on a WPF app that I want to create for Windows 8. I followed steps mentioned in
Hansleman's blog to make some manual modifications using WinRT functions in a WPF app. Everything worked well, until I tried to publish the app. When I clicked on publishing the app I got error "The 'ResolveManifestFiles' task failed unexpectedly.
System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range."
Afterwards, it will produce the same error when attempting a simple solution build.
Even if you create a simple WPF project and add the references mentioned in blog to access WinRT functions and publish, this issue can be reproduced.
I think it would be common scenario to call WinRT functions from WPF and someone should have done it. Is anyone aware what should be done to fix this issue?

I am having the same problems and came across this article while researching a workaround.
It is surprising more people aren’t talking about this.
Here are the steps to reproduce the problem; Using Visual Studio Express 2012 (x64) create a new VB Windows Forms Application.
Unload the project and edit the [ProjName].vbproj in the solution explorer.
Add <TargetPlatformVersion>8.0</TargetPlatformVersion> to the <PropertyGroup>.
Save and reload the project. In Add Resource/Reference Manager add the Windows.minmd found under Windows/Core.
This WinRT/Desktop solution will run as expected. Now try to Publish this solution.
It will FAIL with the following ERROR; “The ResolveManifestFiles task failed unexpectedly, Value does not fall within the expected range.”
Attempting to build or run the solution again now will fail with the same Error.
The only way to build the project now is to remove the “Enable ClickOnce security settings” option under the project properties Security settings.
Occasionally using this trick, the solution will build but not run.
When that happens jiggle around with Debug/Release Solution Configurations and the Any CPU/x64 Solution Platforms then rebuild and try the run again.
This fussing around will get you through development however any attempt to publish with restore the ClickOnce security setting and create the previous Error.
The first question here is how do you publish a WinRT app for the desktop with VS2012 Express.
Then secondly, if that is not possible can we publish this Express solution with a 3rd party deployment tool like InstallShield Limited Edition or the WIX Toolset.
Neither however seems functional in a VS Express environment.
Then thirdly, are there ways to access hardware sensor devices from a desktop solution without resorting to the WinRT API.
Any ideas or new research directions would be greatly appreciated.

Logon failed error when launching Web Intelligence from InfoView

After changing the Web Intelligence preferences in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 Java InfoView to launch the desktop or rich client option, I get a "logon failed" error message. However, when I launch Web Intelligence Rich Client from 'Start > Programs >...' directly, the same logon information is successful. The logon is set to use Enterprise authentication which is the same logon information used to launch InfoView and Web Intelligence.
Why does the logon fail when I launch Web Intelligence from InfoView?

I deleted the report completely and rebuilt it from scratch, and also added names for the data table and data set generated within the project and finally, success!

Playback failed error itunes u

"Error - Playback failed". I get this error on my iPhone 4s in iTunes u. The phone software is up to date and I have deleted and reinstalled the iTunes app. The courses are listed on my phone, but they will not playback. I have connectivity to the Internet and can reach the Apple Store. These same courses will play back on my old iPod.
I have read the discussions, but there seems to be no answer.

"Connection Failed" error when logging into App Store after upgrading to Yosemite

I can log into Apple.com with my Apple ID but App Store will not accept the password and it returns a "Connection Failed" error.
Here is the activity log from the console when I try to log in.... Any ideas??

"Call Fail" error when trying to make out calls.

Hi, I'm on iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 . Recently I've been experiencing this problem of doing outgoing calls. It keeps on having this "CALL FAILED" error. Previously it sometimes came but went back normal after an hour and I thought It might be caused by my network carrier . But its been 4 days now. Do take note that Im still be able to receive all incoming calls, SMS, Apps Messaging as well internet surfing & others. Pls guys help me to resolve this issue. Tq.

MSI Fail error when trying to unininstall VMWare Player 7.

I downloaded the trial version of VMWare Workstation 11. When I do the install it tries to uninstall VMWare Player 7. The uninstall fails with the cryptic error message 'MSI Fail.'
I've found various articles about this around the web and even tried a few 'solutions' to no avail. Is there a sure fire way to uninstall the Player so I can try the Workstation?

I already found the link you posted and followed it but the player is still on my system so VMW still wants to uninstall it and I get the msi fail error. I also tried the manual removal and that didn't work. In fact I wound up breaking some non vmware stuff. Thank heaven for disk images.
Also, the article mentions the file VMware_Install_Cleaner.zip but I can't seem to find it. Is this something that might work to clear up the problem? Too bad I can't just reinstall the player but there is no option for that. I tried a repair but that was a no go too. Also tried deleting files from my Temp folder which some folks claim worked for them.
Also ran the MSI fixit program from MS and while it said it fixed some things about the Player I still couldn't install VMW.

Attribute change run could fails due to 2 reasons-
(1) attribute xchange run is already runnnig for any toher object(monitor lock) (check by thi prog-RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR)
(2) data is loading deleting from the object on which attribut changerun is running.(go in a manage tab and check)
check this two conditions and rerun the attribute changrun again from program - RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN and give the master data name in the selection.

Format Failed error when trying to format a WD MyBook 1TB external

I have tried twice to format the drive with the same "Format Failed" error message. I know it was still formatting with 28 minutes remaining (of the 7 hour format job) the first time - the second time it ran over night. Both times, I formatted with Mac OS Extended (journaled), and selected to zero out the data.
The only difference between the two attempts was a message reporting the Mac lost connection with the drive (after the first attempt) - didn't see any such message this morning after the second attempt.
I set a couple partitions, and ran "Disk Verify".
"DIsk Verify" lists the things it has checked, and gives the following messages:
The volume Startup Backup appears to be OK.
The volume Time Machine appears to be OK.
Other than the "Format Failed" error message, the disk appears to be ok. The "Startup Backup" volume is 319.87 GB as I set, and the "Time Machine" volume is 611.64 GB
I am able to copy a file to both volumes.
So, is the "Format Failed" error message real, and the "Disk Verify" fails to see a problem because it is checking things like the Catalog file, and not each spot on the drive?
Are there any disk utilities that can test the whole drive?

Decompression failed errors when Safari attempt to download .zip files

Mac OS X 10.4.9
For some reason I can no longer successfully download any Apple Widgets or other software downloads with a .zip extension. Safari simply reports a 'Decompression failed' error message within the Downloads window.
The zip files appar on my Desktop but I cannot open them with either BomArchiveHelper or Stuffit 11.0.2
The only things I have recently done is to install MYOB which I believe comes with it's own Stuffit version as part of the application but I am not sure if this is related as I have also applied the latest software updates from the Apple site.

That probably doesn't make any difference, since Stuffit Expander is not a part of Apple's software and updates.
You might try reinstalling Stuffit Expander in case any of its components were overwritten by MYOB. Finding Stuffit Expander's installer isn't the easiest thing to do from the front page of their site. It can be downloaded here:

It requires an email address to get the download link. Just use a junk address if that concerns you. But it does have to be a valid address so you can receive the link they'll send.

Error When Streaming Using AS3

Hello Guys, I am trying to stream my webcam using AS3 code but I keep receiving this error message in the output panel when I run the application:

I have been tweaking around with the code but i still couldnt fix the issue. When I debugged the code this appeared in my output:
