Playback stops mid way thru

i burned my first dvd and when i went to play it in the dvd player about 3/4 of the way through it just stopped and said it can't read it, does anyone know what to do?

Hello Matt,
playback problems are often related to DVD media and/or burn speed. As the write speed can't be controlled in iDVD, I would recommend the following procedure:
1. Use iDVD's "Save as Disc Image" option (File > Save as Disk image). This creates an .img file on your HDD, that can be stored for future use and gives you the option to preview your DVD on your Mac before burning to disc.
2. Use Disc Utility or Toast to burn your DVD at slow speed. 4x is acceptable, 2x (... or even 1x) is better.
3. Use high quality DVD-R (not DVD+R) media (e.g. Verbatim) to minimize burn errors and compatibility issues. Make sure the DVD is compatible with slow burn speed (e.g. 1x-4x)
Also: iDVD likes to have the project(s) on your startup disc with 15 - 20 GB of available disc space

I would trot back into the Apple store and have them fix the problem (or call Applecare with a warranty issue). There is no sense in you wasting your time trying to troubleshoot things on a new computer.

Lightroom 4.2 stopped mid way through tethering with Canon 1DX. Top left corner bar read still transferring, but all images had already been viewed in preview of tether and i had given it an etxra 15 minutes to contine transferring until I rebooted everything. I restarted several times while client waited, but LR would no longer accept tethered images any longer. Any suggestions?

Well, the EOS Utility was incompatable with OSX for quite awhile and once LR appeared to support tethering, I migrated away from it. Until yesterday.
The workflow is still wonky, if you want to use LR for display/printing (which I do), but it's doable.
There are tutorials online, I remember finding them (sorry no links) years ago.
The main bugaboo is creating the appropriate folders in the right order. Both LR and EOS Utility are really picky about those folders (have to be empty, both apps picky about that, so you'll probably have to manually empty after firing off a couple of test images).
I always forget how I did it, but last night's kind of fresh in my mind — I think the order that worked for me was:
create a destination folder in EOS Utility
in LR's auto-import settings, choose the step #1 folder as the watched folder (you've got to do this before putting a single thing in that folder, which will likely mean manually tossing some test images, because if you don't LR will ***** at you that the folder must be empty.)
below that in the same window, create a Destination folder. (don't know why this is necessary, but it is)
Finally, I suggest doing all this in one parent folder and creating a shortcut to that folder somewhere very convenient so that you want drive yourself crazy in the inevitable opening, closing and reopening of these folders, trying to troubleshoot. :-)

Songs stop half way thru

For some reason songs on my itouch stop in the middle, but the play all the way thru on itunes..tried restoring not working itouch 2 yrs old wondering if its best to buy a new one?

Are these songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or were they imported/downloaded from another source such as another online MP3 store or ripped from a CD?
Do they play okay in iTunes? What format are they in?

While downloading iOS6 my phone stopped mid stream now its stuck on the apple logo and wont turn off or on or do anything. Is anyone else having this problem

If your iPhone is listed in iTunes, click Restore on the Overview page and follow the instructions on screen.
Should iTunes not detect your iPhone, try the following:
Turn the device completely off and remove the USB cable from your iPhone while keeping the other end of the cable plugged into your computer.
Now take your phone and press the home button.
While you keep the Home button pressed, reconnect the USB cable to your iPhone
Continue pressing the home button until the "Connect to iTunes" logo appears on your iPhone
Now follow the instructions on your screen to restore your iPhone

All Day Event 2 weeks long stops mid-way through (in Week View)

I created a new all-day event that spans 2 weeks: July 6 - July 19. In Month View, it shows as a continuous line covering the 2 weeks. But in Week View, the event stops after the 10th day, on July 15...then shows up again when I click to the next week.
I tried deleting and recreating. That didn't work. I also tried changing the dates, and when it was less that 10 days, it showed up as a continuous line. But no matter what, on the 10th day, it showed a stop...then picked up again the next week.
Any suggestions?

interesting story. Did you find a way to configure phone for Internet calls (VOIP)? Using Setup/Connection/Admin Setup/SIP Setup (I am not sure about names as I am using Polish version) I may configure SIP profile and even register it ... but that is all. No way to make Internet calls even manual is saying about way of making them

Trying to reinstall Adobe CC Application Manager but it stops mid-way and doesn't do anything

I made the mistake of clicking update on the Adobe Creative Cloud Application Manager. It stopped responding in the middle of the process. After some time, I just rebooted the computer.
when I tried to start the program, it did not work. Tried several times with no success. So I finally uninstalled the program, and have tried to reinstall it. It only gets part way through the process and it just seems to stop working. the Windows task manager does not say it has stopped responding, but it also shows no activity. Nothing is downloading, and the program is not active even after waiting a long time. It just doesn't seem to be doing anything. Help! How do I get it to reinstall?

Import stops part way thru

trying to import from my canon zr85 camcorder, and when I hit import, the preview creen on computer is runing in slow motion, AND the import stops a few minuets into the import. Have started over & over & it stops at random points on the tape.
Last week I sucessfully imported 10 hours of tape (from another camera). I am using firewire connection. Any thoughts, am I missing something?

I'm getting similar behavior using my Canon Elura 90. iMovie allows the tape to play all the way to the end, but at seemingly random points it just stops importing what is playing. One thing that I have noticed is that if +anything at all+ (screensaver, iCal alarm, etc) comes up on the screen in front of iMovie, the import will always quit at that point. But it also seems to quit at random points even if nothing comes up. It's already taken me several hours to import my 1-hour Christmas tape, and I'm not half done yet, because I've got better things to do on Christmas day than sit and babysit the import. (I can't do anything else on the computer meanwhile because that will of course stop the import.)

Can depreciation be stopped mid way?

I want to be able to depreciate a fixed asset half way and then make it stop afterwards. Is there any way possible to do so in B1 2005?
Choosing "No Depreciation" is not helpful as it tends to reverse all the depreciations which have been posted so far.
Any suggestions?

One scenario is where the asset is not fully depreciated but it can't be used further by the company, in such a case i want to stop the depreciation.
The company also does not wish to retire the asset either.

Time machine : started the restoration, stopped mid-way and didn't show any error message

Hi, i made a complete backup of my system to be able to install windows 7 via bootcamp. I had to backup because a complete format was necessary.
I reinstalled Mac OS X 10.6 (the exact same version i had) everything works just fine. I started the time machine so i could have everything i had before i formatted. The restoration started normally and continued until about half. Then, the transfer window dissapeared, not showing any error message. I don't see my disk image that i was copying. It's nowhere to be found.
And now, i can't even try again because there's 150 GB that i can't seem to find anywhere (which is about half of my backup) and there is not enough space on my hard drive anymore. I try to find what was copied and there is nothing.
Please HELP ME !!!

Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite. You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.

Song stopping mid way through

My sister has just downloaded a song via wi-fi and it stops playing at a certain point. It only affects that one song. Any ideas as to how to resolve it?

Yah, I've had the same problem with a couple of my songs. I contacted apple about it. They asked me for my receipt number for the corrupted songs and the song names. Next time I opened up iTunes they sent me the download on iTunes and ended up giving me a few free song credits. It was definitely worth it. I have 2 songs corrupted right now so I'm going to contact them again soon about it.

Updating to the new software & it stopped mid way

help! i downloaded the new software for my itouch 4thgen and in the middle of the process, the error message appeared saying that it could not be updated. now my itouch just shows the apple logo with a blank status bar. Can't even turn it off. My itunes can't read it as well.

Mine did the same thing just this morning, but mine shows a usb cord and the itunes logo. It is not recognized by the computer or itunes at all.
