Playback (Streaming) to bluetooth headphones constantly interrupts

Hi,
I use a pair of Sennheiser Headphones (MM 450 Travel) connected via Bluetooth to my ipad (Ipad 1st Gen, Wi-Fi 64GB with iOS 4.3.3).
I have absolutely no problem using them with content which is stored on my Ipad, like when I use the iPod application.
However, when I use applications that stream content from the net (such as Tune In, a radio application) or from a server on the local network (like Plex), playback is constantly interrupted. Further investigation revealed that, when Airplay is activated and output is redirected to the Bluetooth headphones, the ipad has trouble buffering from the network. If I disable airplay during playback, the buffer re-starts filling fast, thus confirming it is not a bandwidth problem.
Interruptions can occur every few seconds, or every minute, it is very inconsistent.
I was wondering if anybody else had this problem and if it can be solved somehow.

i also have the exact same issue with my ipad wi-fi 64gig version. sounds like an isolated issue with the 64gig versions only.

  • Bluetooth headphones not streaming itunes

    Hello,
when using an itunes enabled phone like the moto RAZR V3i, a bluetooth stereo headphone kit does not allow itune music to stream to the headphones.
Is this a problem with itunes software, or the phone's hardware/software capabilities streaming to a bluetooth headphone set?
there's not much info out there, execpt people confirming that it doesn't work.

your phone probably doesnt have A2DP bluetooth profile. theres no real way to get that profile either unless you reflash your phone i think.

  • Need help with bluetooth headphones playback

I have recently began to use Motorola S305 bluetooth headphones on my desktop computer. The headphones synch and work for playback of other audio, however, they do not play back when I listen to iTunes (upgraded to iTunes 9 today).
I have checked and re-paired. When I test using the control panel or Windows Media Player, the headphones playback audio, however, when I play iTunes the sound reverts back to computer speakers.
I would appreciate if someone could help me figure out how to get my headphones to work so I can get the full benefit of the purchase.
    Thank you

    Topher,
I had the same problem too, but with a different headset...after some google searching and playing around, I found the solution. When your bluetooth headphones have a microphone, it actually uses a different service then the "stereo headphones" feature. When quicktime starts up in any capacity, it seems to default to whatever service that uses the microphone, not the speakers. All you need to do is change your microphone input to something else in Quicktime and it then defaults to the same playback service as everything else.
Find the quicktime player on your system and open it up. Under Edit -> Preferences -> Quicktime Preferences, select the Audio tab. Click the "Select Audio Playback Devices" button.
At this point, if you select your "Test Hardware" button, and you run through the test, I noticed that my microphone was recording, but my headphones were not playing back.
All I did was change the "Voice Recording" default device from the microphone device in my headphones to my computer's built in microphone. Save all changes. You should notice that when you hit the "Test Hardware" button again, everything works as advertised.
Hopefully that helps. It might be problematic if your bluetooth headphones have an included mic that you wanted to use in Quicktime. Good luck!

  • Bluetooth headphones playback issues with iOS 6

Has anyone been experiencing some playback issues with the latest iOS 6 and Bluetooth headphones?
A few weeks ago, I bought a pair of Sony's MDR-1RBT Bluetooth headphones and ever since I updated my iOS devices (4S & iPad 2), playback of tracks has been lagging for the first few seconds. Whenever I choose a song on my iPhone or iPad's player, I just can't hear its first 3~10 seconds. I've contacted Sony about this issue and they bluntly replied that it's Apple's issue, but when I contacted Apple, they referred me to their Bluetooth connectivity site. In other words, my problem still hasn't been solved.
Could anyone help me solve this frustrating issue?
    Thanks.

  • Question about Bluetooth & Headphones to avoid damaging the miniport!?

Well, I finally experienced the same thing a lot of others have already ... the left side audio failed completely on my Touch, so I had to go return it and have it replaced. Luckily, the folks at Best Buy were nice enough to just swap it out and give me a new one, even though I was outside of my 30-day return policy. I have a service plan there, but I didn't want to go without my Touch while they replaced it elsewhere and sent me a refurbished device which probably wouldn't be in the same condition I keep my own in (immaculate -- 40+ days I've used it for 3+ hours a day, and there is hardly a scratch on the stainless steel, and the screen is flawless ... or was).
So now I have a new Touch, but I want to prevent this from happening again. Personally, I think the mini-port on the Touch, while it doesn't have the same problem as those of the iPhones, it has a design problem as well. But I don't want this thread to end up being a discussion of whether there is a design issue or not, but rather I need some help to find an accessory to fit my specific needs.
What I am looking for is either, a website actually selling [this product|http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/28/princeton-technologys-bluetooth-head phone-adapter/|Visit www.podtropolis.com today!] to customers in the U.S. ... or a product nearly like it.
I don't even need the iPod-Bluetooth transmitter, as those are VERY common. What I need is the other part, the receiver with a miniport Audio-Out (headphone jack). I don't even need the capabilities of the remote. Especially since this particular device may not even WORK with the iPod Touch. I'm hoping the audio-out features would, but I could care less if the remote-control did.
Basically, I'm reaching out in desperation with a severe headache from too many google searches with little to show for it ... I need help finding a Bluetooth headphone Audio-Out receiver.
And before you ask why I don't just buy a pair of bluetooth headphones, my reason is this ... bluetooth headphones can't be used wired when the battery dies, or to save battery when there's little chance you're going to drop the iPod and bend the miniport connection inside. With this, I can use the headphones I already have, I like, and still easily have the capability of switching to wired if I NEED to.
This is the only way I can think of to truly prevent the overuse of the Touch's mini-port and the wear & tear that comes from it.
Please, if you have any suggestions, please provide at least a semi-accurate device name and manufacturer, or, preferably, a link to a site in English with an online store!
    Thanks!

You pointed me in the right direction ... I found it sold at Beach Audio, with JUST the receiver, so now I can buy my preferred iPod BT transmitter as well! Plus this device is useful for other things:

  • Which Bluetooth headphones are better for iPhone 4?

    Hi.
I did a search on the forums looking for recommendations on a good pair of wireless bluetooth headphones to use with my new iPhone 4, but didn't find any thread for actual users to review or recommend brands or so...
So, I wanted to know if do you use wireless headphones for music/video playback? Which brands/models are better in your opinion? (either with or without calling functionality).
    Thanks in advance!

I've taken a look at my apple online store (Spain) and found this set:
    Altec/Lansing BackBeat 906
They look like a nice option as well, very similar to the Motorola S9 HD, (and also a little cheaper)
Do you guys have these Altec headphones? Any reviews and/or comments?
    Thanks!

  • MSI WS60 Bluetooth headphones won't play music

    Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has any advice, or has had problems playing music through their Bluetooth headphones?
I am able to pair them and able to hear the test sounds but music still plays through the laptop speakers. When connected the default device in sound settings says speakers. I've changed this to the Bluetooth headset but still no luck.
    Thanks
    System:
    MSI-WS60 2OJ-099US
    Windows 7 64-bit Professional
Skull candy Hesh 2 Bluetooth headphones

Try to disconnect the BT headset then restart the system,  and pair it again with the notebook and check if it's set as the default playback device in Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Sound> Playback device.
*Don't use the Realtek audio manager to test the sound since it doesn't apply to the BT device, so the sound will only come out from the speaker.
Share the capture of the playback device tab of the sound setting page, then we can know better of the situation.
    (Use the add attachments function)

  • Why did Apple break the good Bluetooth/headphones options?

New Bluetooth is very dangerous (if you're driving)!
OS 2.x = listening to music via headphone jack over car stereo, phone call interrupts, talk on Bluetooth headset, hang up & music restarts automatically through headphone jack.
OS 3.0 = listening to music via headphone jack over car stereo, phone call interrupts, talk on Bluetooth headset, hang up & music DOESN'T restart! Have to take eyes off road to screw around with music!
OS 3.0 = Bluetooth headset paired. Plug in headphones, music doesn't automatically switch to headphone output
OS 3.0 = make phone call via Bluetooth headset, hang up. Dial new number and hit SEND, phone defaults back to IPHONE instead of staying on headset (again while driving, requiring more time dealing with phone instead of driving!)
    VERY disappointed!

So a year ago I rushed out and bought Bluetooth headphones to use with my iphone, only to findout that the protocall wasn't supported. I bought an adapter and everything worked great (well mostly the music would stop when a call would come in but start again in the background after taking the call.) I lost the adapter a month ago, but knowing this update was coming just counted the days.
So now I have the update and am quite satisfied to be listening to music and apps through my headphones. I was dismayed to dicover the lack of forward and backward protocall, but am not suprised, I knew apple couldn't give us EVERYTHING we wanted, they have to hold on to somthing for the "next big updated!" What really ****** me off is when I get a call I can no longer answer it on my headphones! I used to be I'd press the answer call button, but now nothing happens, I have to answer it on the phone and select my headset to output through. I'm getting a palm pre.
(I have Sony DR-BT21G headphones and would be interested to hear if anyone has been able to get their headphones to work for music and answering calls directly on their headphones.)

I want to know if I can playback music from one phone to two different bluetooth headphones at once so myself and a friend can listen to the same songs.

  • Recommended Bluetooth Headphones for 3G S?

I have a set of Motorola HT820 stereo Bluetooth headphones on the way to me in the mail, which I'll be pairing with the 3G S I'm soon to purchase. The reviews seem to generally be good, although of course the bad reviews are particularly vocal.
My question is this: how's your experience with pairing stereo Bluetooth headphones with your 3G S been? How's the music quality been? Have you encountered any major issues? Any excessive drain on battery life that you've been able to isolate strictly to the Bluetooth streaming as a cause?

I would do a search of the forum. There have been a number of posts regarding Motorola stereo headsets and bluetooth paring with the iPhone. Use the search options on the right side of the screen and see what you find. That is probably your best option.

  • Can I pair and use two bluetooth headphones (Jabra Halo2) to play movies off my iMac?

The wife and I are in search of a solution to watch streaming content off our computer without disturbing our infant that's in a crib in the same room. Is this possible with 2 pairs of Jabra Halo2's or similar bluetooth headphones?

No, BT doesn't have the possibility to connect to two separate devices at once.
You could check out the connection between the 2 speakers though?
So, you connect your iphone to one of the speakers and then connect that speaker to the other one.
All you need to check right now is check if Celsus Bluetooth Sound Bar supports pairing between them (which it should).

  • Bluetooth headphones disconnect randomly

    Hi,
I have been using some bluetooth headphones (Sennheiser MM-550X) for a while now and while they are playing audio they stay connected, however if I stop the playback sometimes they disconnect and the Mac reverts to the internal speakers. I'm not sure if it is the headphones disconnecting because there is no audio coming through or the OS disconnecting them because there is no audio being output or if it is something else. Also it is very random, sometimes they can be sitting on the desk with no audio playing for an hour and will stay connected, other times they disconnect after just a minute or two.
Anyone got any ideas on how to keep them connected at all times when they are switched on?
    Thanks.
    Kind regards,
    Andrew.

I have this same problem on my mac with my bluetooth headphones (Kinivo BTH220).  As long as sound is playing from my mac they stay connected.  If sound stops, the sound output switches over to interal speakers.  For example: If I'm listening to Spotify, the headphones disconnect after every track, I can reconnect them without any errors but it's super annoying.
I'm on an iMac, OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8)

  • Can I use Bluetooth headphones with a 1st generation iPhone?

Can I use Bluetooth headphones with a 1st generation iPhone? The headphones pair but the sound comes out of the phone and not the headphones. The phone has iOS 3.1 which is the last software the phone will support. Thanks.

    This will help you:
    Original iPhone
The original iPhone features Bluetooth capabilities only for making calls. Connecting to a PC or streaming audio other than phones calls through Bluetooth is not supported.
    IPhone 3G
With the iPhone 3G operating system, its Bluetooth capabilities are expanded to support wireless stereo headsets, file sharing with other Bluetooth devices, and use of the iPhone as a 3G modem. Also supported are new capabilities for combining the iPhone with Bluetooth accessories.
    IPhone 4.0
The 4.0 version of the iPhone's operating systems keeps the expanded Bluetooth functions introduced in version 3 and adds one new benefit: Bluetooth keyboard support, so iPhone owners can use wireless keyboards wherever they go.

  • Bluetooth Headphone Problem & Quest

    Hello,
I just got deli'very of my CB2530/CB2470 Bluetooth headphones and transmitter.
I initially used the batteries supplied and unfortunately the headphone power light will only stay on steady for 30 seconds or so. Then it blinks.
The transmitter appears to connect with Bluetooth and audio DOES reach the headphones but every 20 seconds or so there is an interruption and faint "beep" in the headphones, then after a few minutes they disconnect and the headphones appear to power off. The transmitter then shows a solid blue bluetooth LED.
According to the manual the LED is supposed to blink when power is low and then disconnect after 0 minutes. But the problem is I have repeated the test with FRESH batteries from three different sources as well as a freshly recharged set of NiMH batteries as well as another set of NiCads in case the 2530 is not designed for NiMH. Anyway, regardless of batteries the behavior is the same. Same behavior if I do NOT use the 2470 but connect directly with my laptop via the laptop's Bluetooth interface using the A2DP profile.
What is wrong with my new headphones?
    Regards,
    Walt

Send it to the service center. Bluetooth headphones are still in its infant stages.
MSI had released models for use but customers often say there are quite a lot of distortions due to interference. They sold quite a lot in Hong Kong.
