Playbook BB world won't respond

Hi. I have been trying to download applications on my playbook but the BB world just won't respond. I keep seeing a blue screen that shows installed. I try swiping down and I see three options; 1.content setting, 2. Payment Option 3. Help. I tried the content setting and it says I should list the type of apps I want to see. It request for a password which I supplied correctly but I can't see any apps. I have not been able to get past this stage. Please how do I make this thing work because I really need a lot of apps. Thanks.

The problem may be with your credit card. The details on the card must match exactly the details you entered into BlackBerry World.

  • Blackberry App World won't launch

    Hi,
I have a BB Bold 9780 v 6. I wanted to access BB App World to download an app, but the BB App World icon on home screen is 'frozen' and won't respond, so I can't access BB App World.
    Can anyone help,
    Cheers

First, the backup you should do...
If you are not on BBM7, conduct an on-device Backup of your BBM Contacts to either Device or Media Card Memory
KB20554 How to back up and restore the BlackBerry Messenger contact list
Via Mass Storage Mode (which allows you to treat your BlackBerry device as a USB storage device on your computer), copy the entire contents of your Device and Media Card Memory areas to your computer
KB11879 What is mass storage mode
Using the Desktop Software, conduct a full backup of your BlackBerry device to your computer
The Desktop Software is available via this link

KB18776 Back up and restore BlackBerry smartphone data on a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software
    KB03974 BlackBerry smartphone database list
Make sure 100% that you know your BB ID / AppWorld credentials, including any case sensitivity, special characters, etc. If your BB ID is associated to an email account that you can only access via your BB, this would be a good time to change that...if needed, password reset emails ARE NOT delivered to the BB under any circumstances.
KB32514 How to change or update a BlackBerry ID username on a BlackBerry smartphone
Make a manual inventory of all apps you have obtained from other than AppWorld, including source code (e.g., URLs, ALX files, etc.) and any license or activation keys required. AppWorld retains the ability to reinstall all of your AW acquired apps, but there is no way to know if your other app sources do the same.
Now you are ready to conduct the device WIPE:
KB14058 How to delete all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone using the Security Wipe option
Once the device WIPE completes, it will likely reboot and start over as if the BB was brand new again...it should walk you through some mandatory things, including associating it to a BB ID -- be absolutely sure that you use the exact same BBID that you validated in step 4 above.
AppWorld may or may not be still resident on your BB after this...if not, then return up to Post 2 in this thread for the location to re-acquire it.
Before proceeding with anything else, test to see if AppWorld is working OK now. If so, then proceed to reverse the process you did above for taking the backups and reinstall your apps, reconfigure your BB, and restore from all of the backups.
If AppWorld continues to be an issue, then the next drastic step will be needed...a complete OS reload. Let us know how the WIPE works out and, if needed, we can provide you the process for the reload.
Good luck and let us know!

  • ITunes won't open and when it does it won't respond

No error message appears when it won't start - if I try to end the process in task manager, iTunes will open but it won't respond. It'll just have the loading cursor whenever I mouse over iTunes. I've tried opening in Safe Mode and that's worked before but now it still won't respond. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it too.

sounds like you got a bad copy uninstall it and download a new one from itunes.com

few issues here. firstly, the bottom section of my ipod touch 4th gen won't respond. it'll let me slide to unlock but not tap anything, including to change between keyboards which brings me onto my second problem. i did a factory reset because a few people on here had suggested it, but now i can't log into my apple account because my password has numbers in. is there a way to bypass this requirement? or fix my ipod? i can't afford a replacement

jeez guys thanks for the help!

  • HT1476 I can't tell if my ipod touch 3rd gen is really charging. I have it plugged in, but it will sometimes show the charging icon and then it won't respond to anything. I ddon't know if you need itunes to be on your computer to charge it.

Ok, so I plug in my touch 3rd gen and I can't tell if it is really charging. It doesn't seem like it is. I can only see the charging icon sometimes, and then after the icon goes away, the ipod won't respond! I'm not sure what to do. Than I thought the USB port was messed up because it doesn't always work, but I plugged it into a diferent port and it said on the ipod, charging isn't supported with this accessory.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • Itunes won't respond to double clicking on a song once another song is play

hi. i open itunes, double click on a track and then if i want to play another track i double click on it but itunes won't respond and just keeps playing the original track. if i click on the track, it will highlight but won't play when double clicked. it will however play if i highlight with a single click and hit return. why is this happening. it never used to happen and doesn't on my other computer.

QuickTime X wouldn't have given the error message if it could have opened the file.
There are many file formats and codecs it can't view.

  • My ipod touch won't respond. Shortly after I downloaded IOS 8, it quite responding. How can I get my pictures recovered?

My ipod touch won't respond. Shortly after I downloaded IOS 8, it quite responding. All I get is the Apple sign.  I connected to my computer and tried updating and was able to download the USB connection for the device but received an error when it tried to update the ipod. Is there any way to retrieve my pictures from the device before I try to recover? At this point my pictures are more valuable to me than restoring the device.  How can I get my pictures recovered?
Now it looks like I have the Apple with an line under it on the screen, but still not responsive.

If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • 1st Generation iPod Touch (8GB) won't respond.

    Hi,
I have a 1st Generation iPod Touch (8GB) and it won't respond to anything.  I tried restoring and resetting and charging.  When I plug the iPod into my Mac (10.2 Macbook Pro) the iTunes (which is very up-to-date) won't even recgonize it.  My computer doesn't even recognize it as a storage unit.  I tried all of the USB ports and multiple cables but stil, nothing is happening.  I can't even get the screen to turn on and display the apple.
What should I do? Is the battery dead or is my iPod completely dead?
    Thanks!

Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

I use a lot of Adobe PSE products (photography) especially PSE 9.  All of a sudden, the cursor on PSE 9 began to malfunction.  It won't respond to some of the tools, it'll pick the wrong tool, etc. Do I jave to rebuy another new version of PSE 9 or simply move on ?

Reset the tools. Click on the little arrow, top left, on the option bar of one of the tools. That may fix it.

  • HP8610 Touchscreen Won't Respond - Wireless Light is On

The touchscreen on my 8610 is frozen.  Discovered this when I tried to make a photocopy and the icon on the touchscreen wouldn't respond.  I can still print wirelessly from my Macbook with no problem.  The blue wireless light on the printer is on.  I've been printing wirelessly, scanning, and copying for 6-months with no issue.  Any help is appreciated.

Makes no difference.  I unpluygged the printer, let it sit for 10+ minutes,  plugged it directly into a wall socket, then turned it off/on using the power button on the printer.  Still the same ... the wireless light is on, the touchscreen won't respond, but I can still print wirelessly from my computer.

  • Shockwave "won't respond" and "has crashed" in  Google Chrome, IE, Firefox, can't use it anywhere

Shockwave "won't respond" and "has crashed" in  Google Chrome, IE, Firefox, can't use it anywhere. I already tried completely removing every file it has, reinstalling it, and I went through the process of reinstalling Adobe Flash a couple of times. I'm using a PC. This has been going on for 3 days, it hasn't worked even once. It all seemed to have started right after I updated Google chrome, but Shockwave won't work on any browser, so I'm not sure if that's the case. Please help!
