PlayBook browser doesn't work

Hello!
So I updated my PlayBook OS and it was working fine for a while, then suddenly the browser wont open any pages and all apps requiring wifi wont work. It says that I am connected to the internet and within range but nothing happens. I restored it, but I can't complete the start up because it still wont connect to the internet even though it says it is, so its rendered useless now.
What should I do??

I suffered the same problem last night.
Everything was working just fine. I recharged my battery, turned it on, opened the browser and tried to load a page. The load progress indicator (for lack of a better term) stopped at halfway on the browser when trying to load a page.
I cleared all items in memory (cookies, local storage, cookies, cache, etc), closed the browser and then restarted with (unfortunately) the same result.
I did the above again, with a restart of the Playbook itself- same result.
I deleted then 'rediscovered' my wifi (home)- same result.
I spent 45 minutes trying to troubleshoot the issue and gave up out of frustration due to the late hour (3:15 am).
I started my PB this morning, and all is working well. Huh? While I'm glad I have connectivity once again, the issue itself was maddening. Any ideas on what else I could have done to try to resolve the issue if this ever occurs again?

My Browser doesn't work

I used to be able to select Browser and it would take me directly to the Internet. Now when I select Browser, It takes me to a "Services - Email Accounts" page and I am unable to access the Internet at all. What happened?

First try reregistering the device by going into Options | Advanced Options | Host Routing Table. Find the bold entry, hit your menu key and select Register Now. See if you get a registration message in your Messages list. Afterwards try resetting the device by removing the battery for a minute.
If that doesn't work go into your Browser, hit the menu key and select Options. Go into General Properties. Try changing the Default Browser from BlackBerry Browser to Internet Browser (or vice versa). Then close and reopen the browser

IWeb "open new page in browser" doesn't work?

On websites I have created in iWeb, the hyperlinks to a web page will not open in a new window even though I have checked that setting in the Inspector. Previously when creating websites with html I would simply add the "blank target" code but in iWeb there is no way to edit html directly. I have tried this with Safari and with Firefox, it doesn't work!

Thanks for those helpful suggestions, though I have batted around different ways of trying to get iWeb to register the "open in new window" when checked, to no avail so far, and it doesn't work with any link, whether in text or combined with an image. Taking all these points:
I have now managed to open the html using TextWrangler but I must admit it is a little beyond me to even find the string of code in question as iWeb uses so many files. It would be better if I could just get iWeb to do the work for me as it's meant to.
Strangely, when I open the website in iWeb the first time, all the pages to the left are marked in red before I've done anything! So I cannot use that as a simple check to see if a change has been made. Also I have already tried making other changes after checking the "open in new window" box before saving.
I always publish to a folder on my HD, as I am uploading to a server that is not me.com or mac.com. (Could that be the trouble? iWeb seems to generally be very unfriendly to publishing on other servers than Apple and I have had to jump through a lot of hoops with various things.)
Could it be the weird folder hierarchy created by iWeb, where there is an index.html page outside of the main folder where all the stuff is kept? So far, I have just uploaded it to the server "as is", so the contents of the main folder (which has another index.html rather strangely placed outside it) are not at the root level on the server. The folder containing them is at the root level and so is the "external" index.html. Would it work if I uploaded only the contents of the folder to the root directory on the server, and not in the folder that iWeb creates or with its "dummy" index.html outside it?
(I think in the past this has caused trouble with Google search sitemaps, and is the reason why in the end I uploaded the whole thing and not just the contents of the main folder.)
So to be clear (not that easy here), the files on the server are:
Directory > index.html plus the folder containing all the website files. So the actual website files are at a second level in a folder, not at the root level.
The easiest example where the blank target doesn't work is on the home page of one of my websites. Scroll down and there is an image of a book which has a link to a bookstore. This should open a new page in the browser, but never does. (Annoyingly, in FireFox it even kills the back button, Safari works slightly better in that respect.)

Enable Commenting Toolbar in Browser (doesn't work for IE / FF)

I've seen a lot of chatter about this scenario but nothing seems to be working for me. What I want to do is this:
Create a .pdf.
Attach to the enterprise wiki software Confluence.
Check-out in Confluence.
Have the Commenting / Annotation toolbar available in IE / Firefox.
Make changes.
Save the .pdf.
Check back into Confluence.
This isn't working for me. What I've been doing is this.
Create a .pdf in FrameMaker 10.
Open in Acrobat 9 Pro.
Navigate to Advanced > Document Processing > Document Javascripts
Create a Script (I called mine 'Commenting').
Click Add....
Used this JavaScript:

Click OK.
Click Close.
Save.
Click Comments > Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Acrobat Reader.
Save.
Attach the .pdf to Confluence.
When I Checkout the file from Confluence in IE 8, the document appears but toolbar doesn't appear. When I Checkout the file in Firefox, the document doesn't appear at all.
I'd really appreciate a clear response on how to get this work. While I'd prefer to use the Acrobat Commenting from within Acrobat Pro for peer document review, I've been asked to research using Confluence as the primary nexus for peer review. I'm not having any luck thus far.

Clicking the link to the .PDF launches the file in a browser (same gimped toolbar for both IE 8 and Firefox). When I right-click the .PDF toolbar in-browser, I have access to the following toolbars:
File
Find
Page Display
Page Navigation
Select and Zoom
Tasks
I don't see anything for Commenting / Annotation.

Photo Browser doesn't work

Problem started a few weeks ago. When I bring up the composition window and click on photo browser I can see all the photos but I can't drag or double click on them to embed in the body of the email. It doesn't show an attachment either. Just can't get the pics into the email. However when I drag an image from photo browser to the desktop and then just drag that pic icon directly to the mail icon in the Dock it will work. The picture will be show up in the body of the email which I want and I email it. I can't copy and paste an image into the body of the email either, which I was able to do at one time. A simple step by step solution would be appreciated because I am new with Macs. Thanks for a reply.

Start a new mail message > Click attach on the toolbar > Scroll down to Media on the sidebar of the file browser > Click photos which will take you into iPhoto > Find the photo you want and click on it, a blue border will appear around the photo > Select send windows friendly attachments if necessary > Click choose file. The photo will be in your email ready to be resized with the options bottom right of the message window.

WLC2106 access via my web browser doesn't work

Pls can someone help. I cannot use my browser to access a wireless lan controller-2106 so i can complete configuration.
I have entered the initial configs at startup via console with the wizard.
I am running vista, i have made sure my PC is on the same subnet as the management IP. I can even ping the controller but when i ping my PC from the controller, it doesn't get through. I have also tried using windows XP. Or is GUI not possible on this platform?

Its ok now sorry, my mistake. I used a different port to connect to the device which is different from the management i/face port num i set initially.

Web browsing doesn't work

Hi all.
I have a problem with my MacBook. Sometimes I can not browse internet. Internet is connected, skype, lync, outlook, everything is ok except web browsing. Chrome and Safari browsers do not work - it looks like there is no internet conectivity.
I have a windows based PC connected to the same router and everything including web browsing is ok there. Only mac has problems.
I am really confused from it. Can you help me?

Internet is connected, skype, lync, outlook, everything is ok except web browsing
And I couldn't reach admin page of my router from os X.
If you have room on the Mac's boot drive, create another Admin account and log into it and try Safari and Chrome there.
If it works, install Firefox right away as it's a non-Webkit browser, which Safari, Chrome (and now Opera) are and suspectible to the same exploits that Apple just released a huge patch for. So also hit Software Update until clear.

Preview template in browser Doesn't work

Hi I’m trying to preview a template I have made with DW
in IE but it won’t work. When I do this a dialog window pops
up and asks me if I want to open or save it, if I shoes open, it
opens in frontpage. It says that it is a Frontpage template, I have
tried to open it with ie and DW but it only goes back to being
frontpage document even though I have set it to always open with
ie. What am I doing wrong?

Try enabling Preview with Temp files, in your preferences.
What's wrong is that without this enabled, the browser is
passed the *.dwt
file and it has no idea what to do with it. With temp files

Upgraded from 3.6 to 8. Firefox 8 keeps wiping out my stored passwords and sign-ons. I keep adding them back (key3.db & signons file). Also, private browsing doesn't work. I push that button and nothing happens.

I replace the key3.db and signons.sqlite files with older ones that i've saved. They work the first time I launch Firefox 8, but if I shut it down and then reopen the browser, they're wiped out again
Also, when I click on "private Browsing," nothing happens. No warning screen. It just sits there.
I'm on Vista Home premium. Been using Firefox and Thunderbird a number of years. Have never had an issue.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

N93 web browser doesn't work

hi everyone, i'm a newbie here. i would just like to ask if someone also experienced the problem about their grumpy web browser. when selecting it, a pop-up menu just appears saying "web: already in use." is there a way to fix this or should i reformat it already.

I had an opera browser 8.60 installed and an adobe flash player that was recently intalled (aside from the built in flash player ~ went to the adobe site and said it was the latest) and a couple of themes. But already uninstalled them. basically, I had no applications installed anymore. I guess I'll just have to reformat it using the *#7370#. I'll try it now. Does it have any side effects after the format?

Media Browser Doesn't Work

Hi, whenever I press the Media browser icon or select 'Show Media Browser' on the view menu nothing happens. All other icons (Inspector, Adjust etc.) work fine. Have I missed something that's changed recently? Any help will be greatly received.

My parents' IE browser doesn't work & no other brower is loaded, how can I email them Firefox to load?

My parents have a older Dell with IE loaded. Email works so the internet connection is fine. I want to load Firefox but can't get into the web to it. Can the Firefox browser be emailed and loaded from there? Or can I copy mine to a disk - how can I be sure I have all the right files to run the download?

Try using the Add-on Compatibility Reporter extension to "force" compatibility of that add-on.

You really need to contact the developer of that Burke's Law add-on and find out why they can't keep that add-on up-to-date with the new Firefox versions. IMO, if they are using a web browser as the interface for their product and are charging you for that service, they have an obligation to their customer's to keep their stuff fixed for the 2nd most used browser in the world.

Playbook Browser won't work after software upgrade

Having upgraded to the latest version today, the Browser on my device will not work.
When you click on the browser it opens briefly and closes after about 5 seconds.
This affects other applications that rely on the browser to connect to the internet of their source.
Any ideas?

Thanks for your prompt response. I am able to use the Dolphin Browser so it's not the end of the world, but the Blackberry browser has my favourites etc loaded, so would prefer to use it day to day.

View in browser doesn't work

I have set up a localhost server on port 8500 for ColdFusion Builder, but when I try to run a simple test of

and check it in Safari browser, I get a blank page. None of my .cfm pages show up in Builder. What's wrong?

Your description is a bit sketchy, however a few thoughts (might actually start with step 4).
1) make sure your cfm files and project is set up to be under your ColdFusion9 wwwroot. So, on windows, if your project was called test, the correct folder would be c:\ColdFusion9\wwwroot\test, with the .cfm files under that directory.
2) make sure you can bring up the ColdFusion9 administrator panel. Under Servers, right-click the server you setup, and do "launch ColdFusion Administrator". Make sure your local server is setup with the right passwords.
3) check your project properties (right click on your project, select properties), and here make sure your project is referencing the server. From there you should be able to switch from the Source|Firefox|IE tabs (that's what I have on Windows), and something should show up. Also, when you run the .cfm file in an external browser.
4) Step 1, however, should be verifyable OUTSIDE of CF Builder, with a path something like:
http://localhost:8500/project-directory-name/example.cfm file
Also of course make sure that http://localhost:8500/CFIDE does something. That should tie it altogether, since when you do a launch/run from CF Builder, you can compare the address it puts in your browser, with the aforementioned addresses.
