Playbook camera error 4003 error message

My playbook camera has stopped working and gives the error message 4003. I have the latest software updates and have tried a security wipe with no luck.
I can not find any working links to BlackBerry Playbook support. II have no warranty and do not know how to go about getting this fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Scott

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Error 4003 is a hardware problem, you can read more of this issue in this thread.
If you are on Koodo, contact your PlayBook support number and initiate an RMA. If they say your device is past warranty, ask for the problem to be fixed, they've fixed it for many and it is a known issue. BlackBerry has been good to replace these devices.

  • Sony NEX 5n: I get a " camera error" message when I take a picture

When I take a picture I get a "camera error" message. I have taken the battery out; tried turning the camera on and off; Checked the version of the firmware and I have 1.2 so it is up to date. Tried changing the memory card.

Hello bobbi00! The camera error message is usually an indication that a shutter malfunction has occurred. If the error message appears often even after trying the steps you mentioned, the camera will require service.
You can find repair information and initiate service for your camera on this link.

  • Upgrade to Lion broke iMovie 08 - iSight Camera - No camera connected - To import video, please connect a camera - error message

I recently upgraded to OSX Lion.  My MackBoo Pro is fully patched and updated.  I can launch iMovie 08 but when i try to record or import video from camera it get the error message. No Camera Connected - To import video, please connect a camera.
All my other applications work fine with iSight including iChat, Skype, PhotoBooth.  So why would a specific upgrade to Lion break iMovie 08?
I looked at the other posts on this topic and no one has a really solid explination or fix.
    help please!!

That is odd.  When logged into Discussions, the Profile tab on my personal Apple Support Communities > People page includes the following screen-shot from immediately below the big avatar picture:
Clicking on the "Edit" link opens the dialog window shown in this screen-shot:
The choices bar lets you correct your OS.  Update saves the info.
If yours does not work this way, try a different browser.  (These screen shots are made using Safari on my Mac.)

If you want to fix your problem, it is time to reinstall and updated to the most current iMovie '08 version.
If you did not buy iLife '08 separately, perhaps it was included in the Software Applications disk(s) that came with your Mac.
lonestarry wrote: ... a colleague ... has the exact same issue...
Has your colleague reinstalled and updated iLife after upgrading to Lion?
I am using iMovie '11 (version 9.0.4), so I cannot test your specific version.  iMovie 9.0.4 is properly working for me after I restarted it one time.
However, depending on individual system configurations, Lion compatibility may be version dependent.  For example, this forum post contains reports of iLife '08 (and even older) working with Lion.  Moreover, as shown in this screen-shot from the roaringapps listing, it is the newer versions that may have problems:
Your version 7.1.4 should work with no trouble if all your Apple software is up to date.

    Hi ajaa,
This article should provide mroe information on the issue you are having with your camera. http://bbry.lv/nRqWO2
Try backing up your device via the BlackBerry Desktop Software and performing a clean reload of your device software. http://bbry.lv/bpv7DT Make sure to test the camera to make sure the issue has been resolved before restoring any data from your backup file.

If the above does not work, try booting the device in to Safemode, this will cut off any third party app from using the Camera.

  • Camera Error Message

I am trying to use my camera for the first time and keep receiving the following message: Error The media library can't be accessed. Please try again later or restart your device if the problem persists. I have restarted my Z10 several times and the problem will not resolve itself. I cannot use the camera function as a result which is frustrating. I have tried the camera function with and without the SD card and the problem still exists. Please help!

Open you camera app, swipe from top down and you see a settings icon, click on it.  Under camera settings, save pictures on media card should be on if you have an sd card inserted.  Also before you start saving your files on your sd card, you must format the sd card first within the z10 application. Otherwise it might not be able to save the pictures to you sd card. You can save pictures to device if you take the sd card out.
To format your sd card, on home screen, swipe from top down, select settings, scroll down to storage and access, format media card.

  • How to fix "no connected camera" error message on mac os x?

how do i fix this issue?

Try these suggestions in order for your camera problem:
    (1) Simply restart Mac and check to see if the trouble goes away.
    (2) If not, Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
suggestions may help you.  The proper "reset" suggested there
       often restores normal function.
    (3) Use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
download and apply the latest Combo Update.  For your Mac OS,
the current one is at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1582
Do this even though you already have applied the Mac OS X (10.7.5) update.
Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
    that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera.  For hardware help, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD."  Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
    (4) Unless you have a current backup, make one now.
Then use the final "Troubleshooting" suggestion:
"... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."

  • Getting error message on import that says can't import jpeg files and won't import

why can't I import from the camera that I always use with my iPhoto? On connecting the camera, error message says "can't import jpeg files."  None of my camera settings have changed.  Is it a problem of connectivity with old camera and new iPhoto '11?

Not an old camera problem - most likely a memory card format problem - when was the last time you reformated yoru card?
What camera do you have? Does image capture work?

  • Camera error 4003

Pls Help! Does anyone know why I'm getting camera error 4003 in the camera application and how to fix?

Call BlackBerry Customer Service to initialize an RMA for warranty repair. From what I have read, this is caused by one of two things, a corrupt software update that affects the camera or a physically defective camera. Customer Service may walk you through a complete Operating System reload or just exchange the unit for a new one.
While the PlayBook is running, you can try a forced reboot reset by pressing and holding the power and volume + button at the same time until the tablet's screen shuts off and reboot is initialized. Chances are this won't fix it but I have read that it can in certain instances. In my opinion I believe that you need to exchange the tablet for a new one.

  • I have files that have been on my computer for over a year and all of a sudden they wont open and an error message comes up saying they were improperly downloaded or came in an email attach which is not the case

I have files that have been on my computer for over a year and I have used them several times and all of a sudden they wont open.  I received an error message saying they are improperly downloaded or came as an email attachement which is not the case.  Please advise

They seem to be word files - they will open if I choose "open with" microsoft word, but if I double click they don't open they are appearing as PDF on my screen.  I even opened one and then tried to "save as" making sure I chose .doc and they still appear as PDF
I just created a new document response.doc in word and when I saved to my desktop it appears as a PDF file and I absolutely did not create a PDF or save as PDF it was a simple word
    doc.
The message says "Adobe reader could not open response.doc because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example attached in an email and not properly decoded)
The reader version is I believe the most current, I always update when prompted.  OS is Windows 8
