iphone 4 is not recognized by itunes and is only on emergency mode, keeps telling me to connect to itunes but when I connect iphone to computer it does not recognize it

Did you try recovery mode?  Hold down the home button as you connect it to iTunes.  iTunes should pop up a window that says "iTunes has detected a device in recovery mode" and give you the option to restore.

  • My iphone 4S shows up on my computer but does not show up in itunes devices. I have all security

I just got an iPhone 4S and am unable to get it to show up as a device in iTunes.
I previously backed up my old iPhone on my Windows 7 PC. When I connect my 4S to the PC it is recognized by the PC but does not show up as a device in iTunes.
I have turned off all virus protection software & have tried uninstalling iTunes and all associated Apple software. I reinstalled all Apple software with no results in my 4S showing up as a device in iTunes.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

My ipod has been disabled and will not connect to Itunes

Are you still holding the home button when you plug it in or do you let go?
You want to make sure that you turn it off, hold the home button and plug it into the computer BUT do not let go of the home button. Keep holding the home button until you get the itunes symbol and the cable on the iPod.

  • ITunes cannot connect to the store, nor can I activate my Touch.

My iTunes hasn't been able to connect to the store EVER on this machine. Naturally, without a functioning iPod or iPhone, this hasn't bothered me. Of course, now that I've got a touch, it's a little annoying.
I can't activate my touch, and I can't get at my purchases.
Here is the log from the diagnostic. I have tried flushing the DNS cache, I do not run a firewall, I have reinstalled iTunes (wiping it's registry details as I went), I have activated port forwarding on my router to some port I saw suggested. Please help!

SO we rule out Winsock provider issue.
Can you try these entries in command prompt (Run as Administrator for Win7/Vista) one at a time?
    ipconfig /release
    then
    ipconfig /renew
    restart computer
    ipconfig /flushdns
totally shut down computer then restart.
    netsh winsock reset all
    restart computer
Now test your iTunes again. If that does not work, uninstall your Antivirus program and test again.

  • My iPhone is connected to my computer but will not open up in iTunes.

My iPhone 5 quit working after 5 months but my warranty is up because they replaced my first iPhone 5, which is frustrating enough. I set my iPhone 4 back to factory default and set it up. iTunes and iCloud, etc. is all connected on my phone but the phone will not show up on iTunes on my computer. I don't know how to get it to connect. I've never had a phone or iPod that didn't pop up on iTunes as soon as I connected it until now.

    Hi kaylalynnnn,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that when you connect your iPhone to iTunes it does not show up as a device. Please follow the steps in the attached article to get this resolved.

  • I connect my Iphone 5 to my laptop and it will connect to my computer but will not show up on my itunes why is this? i have tried everything that other people are saying but nothing is helping.

HI so i connect my phone to my computer and everything works but it wont connect to itunes for some reason but did just a few weeks ago. I did something where i lost all my photoes and it reset my phone to waht it once was so i wonder if that was the cause but i dont know. help would be very much apprecieated this college student is getting super frustrated.

Since no one here can possibly know what you specifically mean by "tried everything that other people are saying", no one can determine what you did wrong.  Also, you didn't say what computer OS you use.
Read and follow ALL recomendations in the following aritcle appropriat for your computer:

  • My ipod touch (2nd generation) connects to my wifi but does not give me internet

I have an Ipod touch (2nd gen).  I did a factory restore yesterday and not I can't connect to the internet.  I am connected to my wifi.  I see the wifi symbol on my ipod touch. However, when I try to go on safari or other apps that use internet such as weather, it says: Safari cannot open the page because it is not connectged to the internet.  I know my wifi is working because I am using it to send this message.  I have tried restarting my ipod and as well as forgeting the network and reconnecting to the network, but I still get the same problem.
    Thank you for your help

    - Do other devices successfully connect tot he network?
Does the iPod successfully connect to other networks?
    Try:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router

  • Email client connects to BT server but does not do...

Windows 8.1 and latest version of Thunderbird. When I run Thunderbird it connects to the server, logs on, and begins to check for new messages. At this point it stops - none of the new messages are downloaded to my laptop. However, messages in my outbox get sent (and arrive at their destination). This is happening with both main and sub account emails. My wfe has a Samsung Galaxy phone and has the same problem with her emails, so I think it isn't related to Thunderbird - the problem must be with the BT servers? Does anyone agree?

Problem solved on all machines. Despite not having received any emails for 18 hours, just after posting my initial message all emails started coming through to all accounts and sub accounts on all machines. I assume BT fixed the problem on their servers.
It took a very long time to open BT Mail this morning, after logging in - a matter of several minutes. Perhaps there was a server problem.
However Microsoft Outlook 2013, set as a pop3 account, responded as normal.
(I do an occasional login to BT Mail to check the spam folder, as pop3 doesn't see the BT Mail spam folder).

  • SD card recognized by computer but does not appear on desktop

Three SD cards used in a Nikon camera and formatted in the camera. One card shows up on the desktop and files are accessible. The other two show up on the disk utility with accurate sizes and amount of card memory used but show zero files and do not show up on the desktop. All three cards show on the desktop of my iBook G4 with a card reader and have files that can be copied and deleted. All three cards can be erased by Disk Utility on the MacBook Pro. All three are formated MS-DOS, either FAT16 or FAT32. It does not matter if I use a card reader in the USB port or the SD card slot.

Thank you Niel, for the interest. Have been busy working through the list of to do. It did not show in the General tab. I clicked that box a few times and it removed those remaining ones and returned them, when ticked again. In Disk Utlil it shows and I could get it mounted, but still it did not appear on the Desktop, even after restarting a couple of times.
So using Applescript and following Pink Mutant Wes. I put the name of the drive in "500" and clicked the run. As yet it still has not appeared on the Desk, but I was at some stage at least able to open it, from Disk Util with the magic mouse and read what was on the drive. Will see how I get on tomorrow with this, as sleep and dreams are beaconing. Dave

i have 64 bit windows 7- and itunes version 10.6.1.7. yet i cannot connect to the itunes store.  do i need to download something additional?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • TS1389 There is no web page connected to the store that can authorize my cpu

I cannot find a link to authorize my new windows 8 laptop to download itunes music selection

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
