Playbook keeps asking for my Yahoo e-mail password under new OS version...

So, I did the update, and now my Playbook constantly asks me for my Yahoo e-mail password.  Not my hotmail password, not my work email password, just Yahoo.  So ... wtf?

Delete the account, reboot your PlayBook and setup the problem account again. Hopefully this will help.

  • Mail keeps asking for my yahoo password

Running Mail in Mountain lion.  About every 10 mins. I am asked for my yahoo password.  Have gmail account with no problems.  No problems with the mail accounts on iPhone or iPad.  Apple support says it's a problem with Yahoo servers.  No answer from Yahoo yet.  Any thoughts?

Ok so apparently I have been having this question & issues for months. I got so tired of pop up for pw screen. So i did my research with yahoo....
Apparently if you have a FREE yahoo account (email)  , well then your SOL.... Basically....  You now  have to   upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus ( http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com/ ) the cost shows $19.99 p/yr. and in reading ABOUT Yahoo Mail Plus it mentions,  the ability to use email clients such as outlook ,etc..
A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT for me, but THANK GOD I finally decided to seek help and now I got my answer. Hope this helps other frustrated YAHOO'ers that were having the same issues with Mac Mail on OS Mountain Lion for Macpro

  • Calendar App keeps asking for my Yahoo password

If I start up the Calendar App in Mavericks, I am constantly asked for my Yahoo Account password.
I enter the password, nothing. So Calendar asks me again, what is the Yahoo Password?
I have deleted the iCloud account from my iMac.
Reset up a new iCloud Account.
    Changed the Yahoo Account password.
Trashed Yahoo Mail accounts in settings on iMac and iPad.
Then readded Yahoo Account in Mail settings w new password.
I made a calendar date on my iPad, the iMac immediately showed it.
    So incidents are synced.
So why can't Calendar accept my yahoo password? Or do I even need Calendar to open, if all date incidents are synced?

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • TS2634 I can't open email. Keeps asking for my yahoo password. Will not accept any password I put in. When I try to reset, it wants to confirm to an alternate email, which I do not have?

My email app will not longer display my messages. It asks for my yahoo password and then accepts none of the passwords I ever remember using. When trying to reset the password, it prompts me to use an alternate email address which I do not have?  Any advise?

Can you sign in at yahoo.com?
If you can sign in then it's not a password problem.
Yahoo servers have been having probelms with not accepting the right credentals on mobile devices.
The only two ways I have seen this type of issue are to simply wait and keep trying or:
Sign into yahoo.com on a comptuer.
Sign into yahoo.com on the device
Delete the account that you have added and attempt to re-add the account - about a 50% chance the account won't re-add to the device.
If this doesn't work then your back to the first option to wait till it works again.

  • Popup keeps asking for my Yahoo password, looks sketchy

Hi, I'm new to these forums, so please be patient. I keep getting a popup box that asks me for my Yahoo password. It doesn't look anything like the Apple Mail reminders (the ones that make my Mail icon bounce up and down), so I haven't filled it in. I have also changed my Yahoo password just in case that account was hacked, but the popup keeps showing up. All of the answers I've seen in the forums and elsewhere on line are fairly confusing. This seems like some sort of virus, but no one seems to believe that Macs can get viruses.
    Here's a screen shot:

I did go for a "Genius Bar" appointment, and while there were a couple of other issues that they managed to 'fix', they didn't really want to deal with this mail situation.  So, I have spent HOURS researching this because, I am ashamed to say, I have become completely dependent onmy email and my internet, so I needed to fix this.
    While I don't have a permanent fix, here's what I know:
    Apple tells me it's an ATT issue;
    ATT tells me it's an Apple issue;
    Yahoo tells me it's an ATT and Apple issue;
    you get the picture...
I believe there is a software incompatibility between the most recent Apple upgrade in Safari and the combination ATT/Yahoo mail system, because it all began with the most recent Apple upgrade (APPLE  ARE YOU LISTENING???)
Meanwhile, Yahoo's help page went down a few days ago, and when it came back up, acknowleged a problem, said its engineers are working on it, and provided a link to temporarily help us.  If I log in to the link each time I begin a new sit-down with my Macbook Pro (after being away for a few hours) and then go into my mail and make sure it's online, I am able to access my mail normally.  So, I now automatically log into this link and mail seems to work (they must have some clue about all this or they wouldn't be able to provide this link).  SO here's the page in Yahoo help with the magic link.  I hope this helps you guys!

  • Mail, iPhoto keeps asking for old non-listed mail account password

My mother took over my old mac pro computer with OS Lion. She created a new account on the computer for herself. The problem is that the mail keeps requesting for a password for my gmail account. We looked into the account listing (in system preferences and in mail preference) and it only lists her own email - not mine. I have program specific password activated on my gmail. But the thing is, why is it requesting my gmail password (which btw is not working). She can't use iphoto to send pictures to other people or use mail becuase this password request keeps showing up and it won't send anything. It says password is invalid. It does seem to recive her own mail however.
    Help, please?
    What should we do?

In Mail Preferences / Accounts, check the entry for outgoing mail server. You're able to choose different outgoing servers, which may be the issue. This may help:

  • HT4623 I can't update my apps on my iPad because it keeps asking for an outdated username and password which is different to my current one

I can't update my apps in my iPad because it asks me to sign in to an outdated id which is different to my current Apple ID

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them. If you bought the apps with old username and password, you have to continue to use them to update the apps.
If you changed the username because you got a new email address, sign out of your old ID in Settings>iTunes and App Store. Tap the old ID and sign out then sign in with the new/changed ID.

  • Pages will not update, I plug in my user id and password and click update and it just keeps asking for my user id and password

I have an update for 'Pages', however, when I put in my yser ID and password and click update I get routed back to the enter user ID and password screen.  It;s just a loop each time.  Any suggestions?

Try de-authorising all computers associated with your iTunes account. It won't hurt since your computer can't play iTunes content anyway. Go to the iTunes Store. Click on your Apple ID and type in your password. There is a line item to de-authorise all. Click on that. Then go to Store>Authorise This Computer on iTunes.

    Hello vfrio,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you edited your existing Apple ID to a new email address and changed the password as well. To change this on your computer, you will need to sign out of the old account and into the new Apple ID in iCloud for Windows. Please use the attached article as a further reference.
What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support
    Windows PC
Open iCloud for Windows and click Sign Out.
If you're signed out, sign in with your updated Apple ID or password. The data in iCloud will automatically appear on your device after you sign in.
If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Click Sign Out. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked if you want to make copies or delete iCloud data (Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Bookmarks, Photo Stream) from your PC. Click Delete. Your data will remain in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.
    Have a great day,
    Joe
