Playbook Micro SD slot??

Currently I have a 16g playbook and have been thinking about getting a 32g. While searching I have noticed they are listed as having Micro sd slots. Does anyone know if truly they are coming out with the slots or is this a misprint?
Example best buy says sd card slot yes

Any such "listing" is erroneous. They've never had them, may never have them, and RIM never said they'd have them. Some of the blogs and retailers do tend to be pretty sloppy in the information they slap together on products like this...
Another example: last time we checked, Best Buy said the PlayBook didn't support Flash, which is pretty laughable given how prominent that particular feature has been on this platform.

  • Micro SD Slot

Why is there no micro sd slot on the iPhone or iPad?  That would make it so much nicer.

Get yourself a Camera Connection Kit, or a ZoomIt adapter, and you can use SD cards, or Micro SD cards with your iPhone.  You probably can't use them as an extension to the internal storage, like you probably want, but you can use them, and they connect to your 30 pin dock connector.

  • I want buy Ipad Wi-Fi 3g in Canada Apple Store. Is it have micro-sim slot for using 3g abroad?

I want buy Ipad Wi-Fi 3g in Canada Apple Store. Is it have micro-sim slot for using 3g abroad? In Ukraine being exact.

    Lets make it clear.
The thing is i know that in the US Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G Verizon goes without any slot for micro-sim. So i won`t be able to use 3g abroad.
In Canada store they don`t give no required carrier.Does it mean that Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G from there has a micro-sim slot and is ok for using 3g worldwide with local carrier?

  • Problem with IPhone4, maybe you have the same!! (related to Micro SIM Slot)

    Hi,
I have bought Iphone 4 from "Carphonewarehouse" and when I got back home and after I put the micro sim card I shook the Iphone (it is my habit to check if a device properly assembled)
then I heared sound as if something lose inside, when I tried to figure out I found that the small part, which used to push the Sim out of the slot, is moving so it creates that sound
So please is that with everyone or just my mobile? let me now so that I can ask for replacement.
    Regards,

Many thanks for your kind reply. Of course, that's common sense but if some have and others haven't,it means something has to be checked, otherwise if that resulted in other problem I would have no right to complain since that might be considered abuse.
So please I still need real cases whether this problem exists in all Iphones 4 or not.
    Regards,

  • Crackling sound while pressing the area of Micro SIM slot?

I´ve to ask the global z1 compact users about the build quality of the devices.
My first device from amazon.de had a crackling sound while pressing the area of the micro SIM card slot - amazon did an instand replace but the replacement unit also started with this issue on day after set up. I think this is not a general fault but i´m a bit angry with this issue on such an premium device.
Can you hear anything when pressing this area? what do you think about that? Will you recharge?
I´ll hope that this is not a problem for water resistance...thinking about the Z in the first times...loosing back panel...

  • Micro sim slot

I bought an ipad2 (WI-FI + 3G 64GB) at a Verizon store, to use in another country. The ipad2 cost me 906 $ (including tax)
Once back to that country and at my surprise when trying to activate the ipad2, there was no slot for the micro-sim. Some apple community people told that Verizon does not use sim cards.
I feel cheated !! Why do I pay a full price for something which is limited to Verizon.
If I knew about that I would have definitely changed my mind and bought the device elsewhere !.
My Ipad2 is now worthless since i don't need a 3G iPad2 to be forced to use it as a WI-FI only !!
I sincerely expect a real explanation and a helpful solution from Verizon

Just like thatdecade said, it is common knowledge that Verizon does not use SIM cards
Verizon is a 100% CDMA network (Code Division Multiple Access), CDMA technology doesn't use SIM cards, instead, it must be programmed to your Verizon account (and it is usually a long and confusing process to use a CDMA device on a different network, and that is only if the new carrier allows foriegn MEIDs), the same goes for Sprint (though, even though Sprint just got the iPhone 4s, I'm not sure if they have the iPad 2)
If you had gotten your iPad 2 from AT&T, being that AT&T is a GSM carrier/network (Global System for Mobile Communications), they do use SIM cards, and as long as the GSM iPad 2 is unlocked (which I don't think AT&T allows), it can be used with any SIM
The best thing to do, is instead of going to a carrier, if there was an Apple store near you, it would be a better idea to go to an Apple store instead and tell them your situation, being that the Apple store is not carrier biased (as they can program AT&T, Sprint and Verizon iDevices), they could give you the right iPad depending on your situation

  • Micro sim slot (for ipad2)

I've just bought an ipad2 : WIFI   3G (from a Verizon store in the US) to use in another country but at my surprise there was no slot to insert the micro SIM !  Can anyone help me with this ?

Only posting because I think some clarification is needed. What they are both getting at is three models were made for the iPad2.
    Wifi only:
Has an all metal back and can only get access from wifi hotspots.
    AT&T:
This model has a little black plastic strip on the back at the top for better antenna signal strength. It also has a sim card because it uses a technology that requires sims. This slot is located on the side towards the top.
    Verizon:
This model also has the black plastic bit but it lacks the sim slot because Verizons technology doesn't need sims.
Both the AT&T and the Verizon model are locked to their respective carriers, so to answer your question, yes you have to use verizon for any 3G access, (you can add a contractless plan from the iPad itself in the settings). This also means that even if you had an AT&T iPad you would have to use an AT&T sim. There are ways around this with the AT&T model, though they usually involve messing with the firmware by jailbreaking.

  • How to remove nano sim card from micro sim slot of Z3

I mistakenly put nano sim card in my new bb Z3 im unable to remove it plz help me out in this issue

You will have to be very careful. You may be able to use an exacto knife to remove the nano sim. However, it is highly likely you will, if you haven't already, damage the sim card reader. You may have to disassemble the device and even then sometimes it's not possible to remove it without damaging the sim card reader.

I'm accustomed to Apple products (such as iPhones, and ipad 1) which I bought before, also, in different countries and i've not encountered such problems.
It's Verizon's responsibility to bring such a detail into the customer's attention, since the standard Apple products do have micro-sims slots. I'm no a Verizon products' expert, and I'm not supposed to be. If Verizon sells a "modified " product it has the moral and the legal obligation to bring it into any customer's attention.
    Thanx
That is your opinion, and you are of course, entitled to it.
When I purchase something, though, I like to make sure that I am getting the correct product for me. I make sure to ask questions about how I will be using the product, or do research about the product which I am purchasing. Especially if I am travelling abroad and bringing this item back home with me with the knowledge that I WILL NOT be able to have access to the store where I purchased this product.
Obviously every possible way an item can be used cannot be described when you are speaking with a salesman. If you are going to be using the item in a way which is out of the ordinary for this product or establishment, i.e. purchasing the product and immediately leaving the country to use it abroad, that responsibility is up to you.
That is me, of course, and my opinion.

  • How to transfer address book to new iPhone 4 (which has micro-SIM)?

Since I will be unable to put the SIM card from my Blackberry Pearl 8100 into the micro-SIM slot of the iPhone 4, how can I get my contacts into the new iPhone 4? The B'berry just has accumulated contact info SIM transferred from previous Razor, not address book or calendar or anything from my iMac's now Entourage 2008 program.
My iMac's address book has 350 entries collected over the past 20 years. I sure do not want all that significant amount of old, historical info to be on my phone, so a direct sync would bring a ton of crap to the iPhone (don't want that).
    Is there a way to:
    1) mark some (read most) contacts NOT to transfer in a sync?
    2) or any (relatively) easy way separate current 'phone related data' from the rest of the data which is more related to email and physical addresses info that I (think I) have no use for on the phone. It seems like my iPhone address book would be a confusing mess if all data from my iMac were transferred over.
Any ideas on this are appreciated.
I have been reading of the huge frustration on iPhone pre-order 'trying' today, so I have not attempted yet. I need to decide if my address book transfer would be best done at an Apple Store or if I should have it shipped to my home for me to deal with the data transfer. Hmmmn.

Sorry about my sentence structure. If I recall right I was responding late at night.
With that said, my suggestion is to yes create an gMail account (if you don't already have one).
Find a way to export out your current contacts to a .CSV file.
Google's gMail address book has an option to Import from a .CSV file (maybe some other formats too).
Once imported, verify everything looks good and edit as needed.
When you get your iPhone there is an option to have the iPhone get and sync it's address book with Google.
Once setup, it allows you to edit contacts via a computer (browse to gMail, edit contacts) and the iPhone will automatically get the changes. Also any changes you make on the iPhone will automatically show up in Google's gMail contacts. Thus no need to ever plug phone in to sync contacts. You only need to plug in to sync music and other data.
I find this process far better than having to plug in to ensure my contacts get backed up.
You can read more about it here on Google's site:
    http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/

  • There is no slot for my SD card on my HP Stream 8

I can notFind the SD slot, HP stream 8.
I have the external component identification sheet with numbers one through 10 and I can find all but the SD slot.
It looks like it may have to go back because I can't find.
Also I do I get the app Amazon and/or Kindle to show up on my Windows 8.1 screen it shows it's there but there is no icon or window you might say an 8.1 screen because I would like to download magazines or books  and read killing Patton for instance.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The micro SD slot is underneath the back cover which you will have to pop off. There is a little slot for your fingernail or other tool at the upper right corner to get started.  You will probably want to just put a card in once and then leave it there, and then transfer your stuff on and off the tablet/card with WiFi.

  • I have a micro SD card that I use between my Samsung phone and MacBook Pro. I can copy data from it, but I can't put data on it from my comp; only my phone. Why can't I?

I also use an adaptor so it can fit in the micro SD slot on my mac. Does that make any difference? The files are the same format, too. For example: some music files on the card are .mp3 and some other music files on my mac are .mp3 as well. I'm not sure what's going on here.

    1. Sorry i wasn't specific about the version of NTFS 3G, this link http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/2010/10/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x-2010102.html is the free version, you may see the known issues, although i don't have any problems with the app.
    2. Fat32 shouldnt be a problem :S, ill try it myself tomorrow (i don't have my mac with me right now).
Edit: One thing kinda obvious and may have overlooked, the micro sd adapter usually has a lock mechanism on the left side, is it locked? if so unlock it.

  • Thinkpad 10 MicroSD Card slot

Can anyone help?  I have a new Thinkpad 10 and I can't get the MicroSD card to be recognized.  I believe this is due to fact it is not seating properly in the socket.  It slips well into the slot but doesn't click or lock in as the instructions say.  I need to use tweezers to pull it out.  Are some types of cards not fitting well?  This one is Micro-SD XC made by PNY

Just a thought, but are you sure that you are trying to insert the Micro-SD card into the Micro-SD slot (and the correct way round)? It may be obvious, but the TP10 has both a Micro-SD slot and a SIM card slot (even on models that don't have WWAN hardware fitted). It has been known for people to try and put the Micro-SD card into the SIM slot before now.
