Playbook volume button defect or not?

Hi, I have a new Blackberry Playbook, and the minus physical volume button seems easier to click and makes a clicking noise, while the plus button is much tighter and does not make a clicking noise. Is this normal, or is this a defect? The plus button still works, and slightly needs more effort to press than the power button. How is the volume button on other people's tablets? Please advice. Thanks.

I own a blackberry playbook tablet.
The SN is 134422566854.
Date of Purchase - Dec 31, 2012.
The main issue with that is, the volume button is not working.
I gave it in a local service center, located here in my hometown LUDHIANA in order to get it fixed.
But i was denied the support.
I asked the reason, in return i was told that the rubber lining besides the LCD is not in place.
And they denied fixing the issue for me.
I dont even have any tech support number, so that i can call and log my complaint.
It wasnt provided in the box pack.
I tried to find it online.
I found it anyhow.
But when i called in the tech support number, i was not able to reach that number.
it said that the number is not valid.
Now the main issue as i told you is with the volume button.
its not working.
So i want to get it fixed.
The device is still under warranty and i really dont want to escalate this issue to higher authorities in BLACKBERYY INDIA.
Please look into the mattert A.S.A.P.

Blackberry Curve 8520 - Volume Button (increase/up) not working

The increase (top one) volume button on the side of the phone does not work. The decrease volume button work fine. For example, I open up media player, put on an mp3, but it is too low to be able to hear so I click the volume button to increase it but it just does nothing. I have threw my Blackberry once or twice in frustration since I got it for Christmas. I imagine this might have something to do with the fault but I don't know for sure. Hoping someone could help us here. How can I get this fixed?

I've had the same problem on my 8520. I'm pretty sure the handheld hasn't been dropped/abused.
I fixed it the first time by setting the Key Tone in Options|Screen/Keyboard settings to On then back to Off (a bizarre fix I saw on another bulletin board, but amazingly it worked).
However, it happened again a week or two later and the same fix didn't work a second time.
I've just reloaded the OS (5.0.0.1036) but made no difference.
Does anyone have any ideas? Would be v.grateful....

Volume Buttons on Thinkpad not working

I installed Arch on my Thinkpad X200 with Fluxbox and PCManFM running as a file manager. Problem is, my Thinkpad's volume buttons don't seem to work. Any ideas?
I installed the tpb package and now my mute button works, but the volume up and down don't.

IPhone 4 volume buttons defective

The volume buttons and the silencer switch thing above are non responsive. I just bought this iPhone from eBay and am unaware about the past. How would I go about fixing this?

First thing you should do is factory reset the phone (if you haven't already). If that doesn't work, you should take it to an apple store, as it would be a hardware problem. They should be able to figure out the problem. They will probably take it in for repairs. If you don't want to go through all that trouble, just enable assistive touch.

IPod touch 3rd generation side volume button (defect?)

I received a 64GB iPod touch as a gift a while back, but I've only just gotten around to using it to replace my 2nd generation 32GB iPod touch. I've noticed a problem with the side volume control however, I can turn to volume down easily, but it is very difficult to turn it up. If I press on the upper end of the button it is completely unresponsive; I can only turn the volume back up if my finger is positioned near the center (but slightly towards the upper end) of the button. While listening to music the volume slider works fine, and I have been very gentle with it. I was just wondering if any others have had the same issue, as this wasn't a problem on my second generation iTouch. It's very inconvenient, especially when I want to use the alarm. It sounds like a hardware issue -- since I received this in December, it's still within the warranty period.

One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF

You may have debris in your headphone jack blocking the sensor. Try blowing hard on the jack, and inserting/removing your headphones quickly multiple times to clear it.

Mute button, low volume button and high volume button not working after upgrade to Win7 Pro

Hi all, Im using X301. Previously it was shipped with the Vista Business. I was entitled for free upgrade to Win7 since the thinkpad was bought after 25th of June 09. The problem started after I successfully upgraded my Vista to Win7 Pro. My Mute/Unmute button was consistently in amber colour (signal for disabled). the volume button also is not working anymore. On the system side, everything was fine. the drivers is working properly.. the windows also is showing the volume is in a good shape. Unfortunately the button on the thinkpad is always on the disabled mode. Ive been searching for a related drivers that i could download and solve the issue. but till now all the softwares and drivers downloaded from lenovo could not solve my problem. any suggestion or comment is highly appreciated. thanks a million

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

Volume button not functioned

I am in Colchester, Essex, UK. I have problem with the volume button which did not funtioned properly since I bought it. I thought it is like that. I try to use the ipad at Tesco near my place and feel the button is typically different from mine. Now, it get worsen as it can't slow down the volume. I have tried to use the "lane express" but failed. Please advise me where should I report this faulty? I just bought it end of May 2012 and this item still under warranty. For your information I bought this new iPad while I was in Malaysia.

Backup your data and do a factory reset. If that doesn't help then bring it to the service center. X2 has been updated to Lollipop for quite some time. Have not come across any volume issue after Lollipop update.

Volume buttons having problems now

I have a macbook which has been bootcamped to have Vista on it, right?
So I was fooling around with buttons trying to figure out what the right click function was.
I googled it, and got a few different things, so i tried them all.
And a few of the ideas had to do with pushing F10 - F12, which are the volume buttons on a macbook.
Now, everytime I touch one of the volume buttons, it does not go up one by one with the little white square. Instead, it goes up a bunch of squares, and half of them are like grey or black, and the white one goes to a different spot each time. It's really bothersome, so please help me if you can..

The photos showing the incorrect orientation after being transferred to your computer is not an iOS problem. This is a Windoze problem. The photo viewing app included with Windoze ignores or doesn't recognize the photo orientation data included with the photo's EXIF data with iOS devices.
Try using a photo viewing app by a 3rd party that doesn't ignore this.

I have an iPhone5 bought in late Dec 2012.
I've noticed on rare occassions that the volume down button some times would not respond.
Starting yesterday, the volume down button would not respond more consistently.
Sometimes a reset would fix it, sometimes a reset network would fix it, but the problem would come back.
Came across this thread, and pressing gently on the upper right hand corner fixed it!
I remember seeing some video on Youtube or iFixit that shows how to replace the power button. It appears that the volume buttons and the power buttons are tied in together on the same piece of connector. I supposed taking the iphone in and out of cases may have warped or twisted the connector inside the case ever so slightly that the sensor for the down volume button got shifted.
The down volume button works now, after doing the trick you suggested. I'll wait and see if it comes back before taking it in for warranty repair.

Silver mark in between the volume buttons on iPhone 5.

I recently saw a silver colored mark in between the volume buttons which is not coming off. what might this be and how to remove it?

I have an iPhone 4 and recently started to have some problems. First, the button on the side of my phone, that puts the phone on silent is not working. I can move the switch, but my phone stays in silent. However, If I plug my headphones in, Then I can hear everything like I am supposed too. Also, my up volume button does not work. This is with the headphones also.
I have tried doing a soft reset, I reset all of my settings, I updated my software, I restored everything back to factory settings, and nothing has fixed it. I bought it from best buy and can send it in for service, but the last time I sent a phone in, it took them 3 months! and I really don't want to go without my phone that long.
Does anybody have any suggestions?

Sounds like it either believes that there are headphones plugged in, or the switch is broken.
Why in the world would you take it to Best Buy for service? Take it to an Apple Store. They can replace it on the spot if it's defective.

Iphone 4 volume buttons not working

iphone 4 volume and mute buttons not working, checked all settings they are all fine and when headphones in it works??? When I take out headphones the volum buttons do not work, when phone rings or text receives only vibrates???? HELP!!!!

This could be due to some debris or dirt inside the headphones jack that makes the iPhone think that the headphones are connected even when they are not.
Try to see if you can clean the jack being very careful, with canned air as sold in electronics store. Some people have been successful by introducing and withdrawing the headphones jack several times in a row to displace whatever is in there if it is lodged in.
Avoid introducing anything else like a pointed object. You could damage the jack.
If all of this does not work, I would try first resetting the phone by holding the home button and the power button together for about 15 seconds or until the whilte apple appears, then waiting until the phone resets. If the problem continues after this, take it to an Apple Store to see what they believe should be done.

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.
