Player doesn't play

Downloaded update 2 days ago and now nothing plays. "Blocked Plug-in" is the standard message now. I've uninstalled/reinstalled to no avail. Looked thru Sys. preferences but all seems to be in order. Thoughts? Solutions?

Flash Player Doesn't Play on Some Websites. I can see the play button and volume etc but selecting play doesnt do anything on some websites. I have the NSZ-GS7 Sony Internet Player with Google Tv/Google Play. I installed the latest firmware and I believe it carries Flashplayer 10.2.164.113
I can only watch some programs on au.tv.yahoo.com/plus7 . This website supports Flashplayer 10+ and also supports Google Play. So I do not understand why I cant watch. Do I just need to change some settings?
Also, cant watch on www.jump-in.com.au/ and I can see a still image of the video, i can see the big play button in the middle but selecting it will not do anything.

I typed chrome://plugins" in the address bar but that didnt do anything and just gave me blank white screen.
I did manage to get into the settings for Google Chrome another way and found the Plugins window but there was no option to "Always Allow". The only option I had was to either Enable or Disable.
I read something somewhere about changing a setting for the Unsandboxed plugin to "Always Allow". But I havent been able to get to this plugin in the setting options in Chrome.
Looks like I will be returning the product and getting myself an Apple TV device instead and use my Iphone to Airplay.

DVD player doesn't play some DVDs

I've had my macbookpro for several months now. I've been mostly satisfied, but the DVD player seems to be messed up. I have never had a problem with software or CDs, but every once in a while, the DVD player will not play movies. Most of the time, these are Netflix movies which, understandably for shared discs, sometimes have blemishes. However, these same discs have no problems playing on my cheap dvd player hooked up to the tv. I've taken it into the mac store, but they told me nothing is wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to upgrade or change the dvd player? Thanks.

First, welcome to the discussions.
This issue is not a suprise because of the Optical drives and the Fimware that Apple uses in there computers.
Apple has much higher standards for there Optical Drives, and therefore they are very very picky about the Media that they will accept and burn and read.
My quess is that the Movies you are getting are either scratched or smudged and they will either eject from your Mac or will render you an error message.
On some occasions there will be a problem with Optical Drives. If you can read and write with New Good Media, and you are able to use the DVD Player with New Commercial DVD Movies then this tells me it is the Netflix DVD's are of poor quality.

DVD player doesn't play movies with .avi extension

My friend recently gave me dvds that had movies burnt off the net. They're all files with .avi extensions. When i tried to open the file, it said i needed a higher version of quick time player, which i downloaded off the apple site.
After all this, i still can't play my dvd. What's happening here? The drive also makes these weird noises, like there's something seriously going wrong with the dvd. I tried playing it through dvd player on my mac book pro, but i couldn't open any file on it. It keeps sayin " NOT PERMITTED" . Funny part is, my friend could easily watch all these movies on his windows xp computer...

I think it is unforgivable a DVD player won't play DVD's that are not actually DVD's at all but data disks. I am still mad my DVD player will not paint my house.
Windows uses the one size fits all WM Player and it plays DVD and data disks or files etc.
Use Quicktime and Perian (free) to play those pesky files either from the DVD or from a drag and drop to the desktop first.

Creative MediaSource Player doesn't play DVD mo

Just bought a Sound Blaster li've! 24-bit card. no problem to install but can not play DVD movie.
The software installed from CD in the box coming with the card is Creative MediaSource Player v2.02.59.
Download an Creative MediaSource PlayerOrganizer 5.0.38 from Creative but still can not play DVD.

Flash Player doesn't play smoothly and out of sync in full screen

Hello! Everyone
The flash player (11.2.202.235) does not play smoothly and in full screen audio and vidoe is out of sync. I didn't use to have any problem at all, it only started about two weeks ago and since then despite trying various things (i.e. disabling hardware excelration, uninstalling & reinstalling, trying various browsers etc.) has not resolved the issue. I don't know why it has suddenly stopped playing smoothly as I have not installed any software recently which might have cuased this.
I am using Windows XP (service pack3) and have dual partion with dual operating system (both XP). There is the same problem on both operarting system and flash player won't run smoothly on either of them. Although my computer and graphics card is quite old but the downloaded movies/DVD playback is fine even in full screen. It runs smoothly and audio&video is in sync so I don't think it could my the graphics card.
As I mentioned I have tried all the browsers but without any luck. The BBC iplayer plays ok most of the time if not in full screen but as soon as you make it full screen the vidoe is more like a slide show and very jittery and audio&video gets out of sync. Same with youtube vidoes, they play ok when not in full screen but the video in full screen does not play smoothly and audio&vidoes gets out of sync. However the ITV player & Channel 4 content on 4OD does not even play smoothly when not in full screen and the video&audio is out of sync all the time.
It would be really helpful if anyone can suggest anything to resolve this issue as I have not been able to find anything on the internet to solve the problem and its driving me up the wall. Although I have tried to include as much details as I could think of so please let me know if I have missed any details that could be crucial in order to identify the problem.

Windows Media Player Doesn't play video files or DVDs (Windows 7 Home Premium)

Hello,
I recently purchased a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it. Since then, Windows Media Player has not been able to play any kind of video files or DVDs. I have tried using the Fixit tool and turning the WMP off and on with the Windows
Features menu, but it has not solved the problem. I have also made sure that my video and audio drivers are up to date.
The errors that come up say:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer.
and
Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings.
Any help with this would be great, because I like using WMP better than other media players.

Firstly, please try to use the Video example in C:\Users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos if it could play normally.
Secondly, try to reinstall Graphic Card driver for test.
If problem persists, try to remove WMP in Windows feature and add it again for test.

I've been installed JMF 2.1 on Ubuntu 9.04 and it's a Virtual Machine . It's seem successfull. I only have error "Can't open video card 0...." but i think it's not important
I used jmstudio to open some file, and i've opened them, but they're played incorrectly.They're played very fast, both audio and video. Example : a file has 1min33s length played in approximate 20s.
i tried some ways but it doesn't change
i use JMStudio to open them.
Please help me. I need to solve it now because my project is out of date.

Flash player doesn't play

Hi,
I'm having problems with Flash on various websites. I have Windows 7, and IE9. Flash is 11.0.1.152 When I go to web sites that use FLASH, the display doesn't load. For example, trying to upload photos on Snapfish - I get a blank screen. If I scroll the page down and up, then I'll get a partial display, which vanishes when I try to click anywhere. Jackie Lawson animated cards don't display properly. The display is fragmented, and partially displays then disappears. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it doesn't help. Any suggestions?

I am also experiencing similar problems like Sue. I am using Windows 7 64-Bit & IE9 and downloaded the flash player version 11.0.1.152 yesterday. I cannot see adobe flash objects in many websites. Please check this one http://www.gardenhotels.co.jp/ the big rectangle near the top of the page is just all black from my screen, but when you scroll up and down, you can see parts of the object. And this one http://www.jalan.net/, the medium rectangle on the left hand side should be a map of japan which you could clike the cities inside the map. The map just cannot show from my screen!! I also tried to right click, exactly like what Sue experienced, "If I scroll the page down and then back up, I see a small box with the one option for dislay - Enable Hardware Acceleration - and it is checked. When I try to move the cursor over to uncheck it, the whole box goes blank/whit as soon as the mose enters that area, so I can't uncheck it"
I must also say that when I was still using the old version before the download yesterday, these objects worked perfectly fine.
Please advise how to clear this problem. It's so frustrating!!

Soundcloud embedded player doesn't play sometimes

I embedded the a soundcloud file in a website. It plays well in Chrome and IE, but not in Firefox 20.0.1.
It should play HTML5 audio.
There is a nice rotating image in the player, but no sound.
The strange thing is: some files do play in Firefox (all do in Chrome and IE) and some don't. Anyone experiencing this odd behavior? And is there anything I can do?

The DVD player doesn't play. It says the DVD is empty and asks if I want to burn.

I have tried to play several different movies with no luck. The player spins and acts like it is going to work and then gives me a screen asking me if I want to burn the DVD because it is empty (which I know it isn't). Any suggestions as to where I even start looking in regards as to how to fix the problem without having to take the laptop somewhere? Quicktime X Player doesn't play wmv files correctly!

I have a brand spanking new MacBook Pro 13" with Snow Leopard installed. When I play WMV files with Flip4Mac installed, I'm unable to use the scrubber to move to different parts of the movie being played. I have to wait for it to cache (basically play back) before I can skip around in the movie.
Funny thing is that my previous machine was a Macbook v. 1.1 and I upgraded it to Snow Leopard from Leopard with WMC. QT Player worked with WMV files just fine. What gives?

RE: +I found a solution that works from the Flip4Mac boards.+
+Go to System Preferences, select Flip4Mac then player, then advanced.+
+Then select QT Player 10 and all works fine.+
*For those of us w/ a different version of QT you won't need to specifically select QT 10, just hit the "plus" then browse to your applications folder and select whichever version of QT you have and this fix works. You don't need to have QT 10. (For those of us not blessed to be in Leopard yet.) I have QT 7.6.4 Pro and it works fine. Brings back the quick little "import" bar we love so much when opening WMV files. Turns out there was a purpose for it after all! Unless QT is told to import all media prior to opening the file, it imports as it plays causing the afore mentioned issue.

Bug?? v4.5 Media Player doesn't play 3gp video files.

I recently upgraded my 8330 to v4.5 and now cannot play any video files. Before the upgrade, at v4.3 the same video file could be played. I reloaded the device software, reformatted the microSD card, recreated the video file and even completely wiped the device. Nothing..
any advice or am I stuck? Is there anyway to go back to v4.3?
