Player for dynamic live streaming

Hello. I run a FMS 3.5 Server and I do not have much knowledge about it. I want to use the dynamic streaming function that FME provides, but I do not have a player that supports the dynamic switching. I looked into ActionScript and Flex but it is all to complicated for me. Can somebody sent me a link where I can download such a player or can somebody give me help so I can figure this out? Thanks!

Thank you for the link but it does not solve my problem. In this thread they work with manifest xml files like a playlist. Which i tryed but also doesn´t work. Adobe declairs FMP with easy config and less code for non geeks. And this is exactly what i want for my project.
Does anybody can post some  html sample code especially for dynamic streaming/ MBR wit Flash Media Playback??? For Live or On-Demand.

  • Flash player for online live streaming and whats app for Yoga 8 tab

    I have baught this Lenovo yoga tab 8 and I was trying to watch the live cricket matches online. But unfortunately an error message appearing on the video window on the web page saying that I need to upgrade the Flashplayer. So I tried to get the Adobe flash player from Google Play store but it says that this device does not support the application. Same has happened when I tried to install "Whatsapp" from play store. Is it because of the lower Android version? If, so is it possible to upgrade the Android version? Please suggest me the solution or alternative.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks rmbrkfld but....... is this link to be opened only in Tab or what?
    Because I just tried it on my computer and its not installing. The zipped folder has been downloaded, I unzipped it but there is no option/file to say Install, neither it was automatically installed  ........ (what's the name of this player?) .......... Please clear this.

  • MacMinis + SL Server for Intranet live streaming ?

    Hi,
    is this asking for trouble (not enough horse power) or can the MacMini be used for a live stream into our intranet?
    The documentation on this Apple site actually suggests a Macbook (for the Broadcaster) and a MacPro (as streaming server).
    We will need to do this only, say, three times per year for 45 Minutes.
    Signal will come via Firewire 400 from the camera.
    Will two MacMinis be able to handle the load?
    How many clients, do you think, can connect at the same time before we run into trouble?
    Thanks for any friendly advice,
    Barbara

    There's a lot to consider when dealing with streaming.
    If you're only streaming to the LAN then you might be able to use multicast, in which case this is a no-brainer - the server only sends out a single video stream to which all the clients subscribe (the heavy work is done by your network switches).
    If, on the other hand, you can't use multicast, or if your 'intranet' really consists of multiple sites/locations then you need to consider bandwidth since that's likely to be your major bottleneck.
    It really doesn't take much CPU to stream a connection (the hard work is in the encoding which is why Apple recommend a separate machine for encoding which passes the stream to another machine for distribution). I don't know what the hard limits are on a Mac Mini as the streamer but I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 100 clients on a reasonably-high quality stream. If you find it can't handle that (or you have way more clients) then QuickTime Streaming makes it easy to add additional streaming servers so all you need to do is balance your clients across the various streaming servers, making it easy to grow incrementally once you work out what your load is.

  • Dynamic Live Stream don´t take the best stream for my bandwith

    Hi @all,
    I hope someone can help me with my problem - btw. sorry for my English!
    I build a client side application where is only a FLVPlayback2.5 component and a short AS3 script.
    AS3:
    import fl.video.*;
    VideoPlayer.iNCManagerClass = NCManagerDynamicStream;
    myPlayer.fullScreenTakeOver = false;
    var dsi:DynamicStreamItem = new DynamicStreamItem();
    //myVideo.source = "dynamicStream.smil"
    dsi.startRate = 1548;
    dsi.uri = "rtmp://x.x.x.x.x/dani_/";
    dsi.addStream("test548", 548);
    dsi.addStream("test848", 848);
    dsi.addStream("test1548", 1548);
    myPlayer.play2( dsi );
    My Encoder is setup with three streams:
    Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps
    Vid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps
    Vid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps
    I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log.
    In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate.
    I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.
    My network connection is on a 100MBit leasd line, so I don´t think that my connection is the problem
    What did I wrong? Or Have I missunderstood something in the examples for dynamic streaming?
    Regards from Munich/Germany

    EDIT: Must I change something in the ini-file or in a nother config-file of the server.

    I put an text area in my script to see which stream is taken.
    I slow down the bandwith to 100, 200 and 350 kbps and - surprise surprise only the 100 kbps stream was taken by my app.
    Nobody any idea what the problem can be?

  • Sound works at 2 locations for a live-streaming video but not on the third.

    I am trying to watch live streaming video from a trial.  Three television stations offer this video.  I am able to see two of the stations, but there is no sound on the third.  Since I am not always available to watch, I would like to watch the replays in the evening.  These are only offered by one station--of course the one where I can't get the sound.  I am able to watch the news videos from this station but not the trial ones.  Is this a problem with the station or is it mine?  I should add that I have tried in several browsers with the same result.
    Sound and video work fine on everything else.

    That's odd.  It sounds like a problem with the stream but I tried that link out and the sound worked fine for both the commercial and the trial.  I did notice that the trial's volume was low for the first 5 - 10 seconds, but I could clearly hear the proceedings once they started.
    What browser / OS / version of Flash Player are you using?

  • Authentication for pushing live streams to FMS3

    Hi there, I have setup FMS3 and use it to test my live
    streaming. But I was wondering is it possible on the FMS to setup
    an application for live stream, so that it checks for
    authentication before accepting the live stream for broadcast? What
    I mean is if I create a live application on FMS, anyone who knows
    this application name would be able to push the stream to FMS. Can
    FMS control this with a username and password? Thank you.

    The video clip at NAB is a sneakpeak into the upcoming release of the FMS which supports streaming to iPad and iPhone, and its coming up very soon.
    Streaming to android and other devices is already supported on the released version of FMS4 technically, so you can give that a try, and with this upcoming release, you can be sure that all the mobile devices would run high performing videos.
    i know i have not answered what you asked for, exactly, but be assured it will be very soon. We hope to meet your expecations.
    Thank you !

  • Disk Management for RTMP live streams

    Hello,
    Can anyone tell me if there is anything similar to DiskManagement functionality (available for HTTP streams) available to RTMP live streams in AMS?
    I'm having trouble with INDEX files that are being created for the live+DVR streams (we are serving 24/7 streaming), even though I delete RAW DVR files which are old, INDEX files constantly grow and FMS crashes CPU after few days.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Hi,
    The methods that are mentioned as missing as expected by FMLE as it makes calls to them. They are defined in the sample live application that comes with the installation. The code for these can be picked up from the samples folder under the FMS installation from the application live. You can add these in all of your server side scripts to make them more relevant.
    Thank you !

  • We need to optimize FMS for smooth live streaming can anyone help?

    So we are coming across the same problem over and over again. I called Adobe FMS tech support and they assisted us to achieve what we need, but we are having two main issues.
    First, we need to allow live, clear, and smooth video broadcasting with FMS so we implemented dynamic bandwidth detection so the system can automatically detect a users specifications and adjust video accordingly. This has worked better for us but we are coming across two main issues; first, the video is now very pixilated, and second, we are still get a pause or delay in movement from the stream every 4 seconds or so.
    We are looking to get similar video quality as seen on the justin.tv live broadcasting site. I know this video detection and quality is achievable, but not sure what values we need to put in or are missing?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    I'm interested in doing something similar - bridging FMS to a
    an Asterisk conference. I know breeze has this capability, does
    anyone know if this can be done using FMS?

  • Dynamic live streaming on AMS 5 on AWS buffering and skipping

    I'm having a lot of trouble getting Adobe Media Server 5 on Amazon Web Services working with live dynamic streaming, I've done a of this on Flash Media Server 4.5 and am trying to duplicate what I have done there on AMS since I got an email that FMS 4.5 will be dropped soon.
    I have tried replicating my own setup from FMS 4.5 and I have also tried using the base install and following Adobe's tutorial. I get the same results in both events.
    First, the HLS streaming appears to work fine. I've watch it on several iOS devices with no problem.
    I use StrobeMediaPlayback for HDS streaming and that's where there are problems. The streams usually play fine at first and even transition well, then after a few minutes I start getting a lot of buffering and then video skipping. The longer it goes on, the more it buffers and the larger chucks of video get skipped. Sometimes I also get and error that says "TypeError: Error #1009"
    I am using FMLE and both it and the server are set to use absolute time.
    Any help would be appreciated!!

    Hi,
    Welcome to Adobe forums.
    May I know the FMS URL and the stream name you are using inside the FMLE and make sure you have full permissions on Adobe media server folder. And also check the streams folder inside the livepkgr folder and see if you are getting all the files created.
    And would you mind if you can send me the logs folder at [email protected] so that I can analyse this issue at my end.

  • Only 1st RTMP bitrate for HTTP Live Streaming works

    Using this on AWS with cloudfront/cloudformation.
    When I created new Cloudformation, my first RTMP will works. i.e I publish at 500kbps.
    Then if I stop and send single bitrate at say 800kbps, it will not works. i.e OSMF will keep buffering.
    SSH to my EC2, I restart FMS server, also no different. When I republish at 500kbps, it works again.
    Then, Create fresh new Cloudformation, and send 800kpbs this time, it works fine.
    So my conclusion, I can only send 1 known bitrate, and cannot change to another, ( but can change resolution).
    Must be something wrong here. What exactly happened?

    Hi,
    When you first publish with 500 Kbps and then superimpose with 800 Kbps, it may not allow you to do so. Since on republishing it appends to the previous streams and it might not work with streams of two different bitrates. My suggestion to you is - try publishing in record mode. This will clear old streams and should work like a dream.
    To publish in record mode, use this publishing string;
    livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-record-mode=record
    Thanks,
    Shiven

  • Offline image for Live Stream

    I am new to using flash media server. I setup the server and using the default player for the live stream and when I am not broadcasting I want to display an image instead of the black box that comes up till I start the live broadcast. Is there away to have it pull an image when I am not streaming?

    Hi,
    When you said you are using the default player, did you mean the livetest.swf inside <fms-install>\applications\live ?
    If so then that cant be modified since it has only .swf file. You may have to write custom client side player (swf file).
    And also do you want to display any image or the last frame of the video before it stopped?

  • Trying to find lowest latency setting for FMS 3.0 live streaming app

    Hi,
    I work for a technology company in the agricultural industry,
    and we recently bought Adobe FMS 3.0 for live streaming of an
    online auction application. Initially the tests were ok, but the
    stream latency is becoming a real issue. It starts at around 1s
    delay, which is barely acceptable, but an hour into the sale it
    stretches to 2-3s, and more. This is becoming a real deal breaker
    for the Flash solution that looked very promising at the beginning.
    We need to find the absolute lowest latency setting for the
    live streaming application supplied with FMS3.0.
    Low latency (1s max) and stable latency has highest priority,
    more important than picture quality or uninterrupted streaming.
    How can we achieve this? Are there any settings where I can
    tweak the stream latency?
    I am not a Flash expert, but I can find and modify the
    configuration files on the FMS Windows 2003 server.
    Any help would be immensely appreciated.

    On server side:
    FMS installs itself with default configurations optimized for
    Max CPU efficiency. Reducing/shutting-off FMS publisher queues
    using Application.xml config should help in removing the delay that
    you experienced.
    <Application>
    <StreamManager>
    <Live>
    <Queue enabled="true">
    </Queue>
    </Live>
    </StreamManager>
    </Application>
    Changing default setting to <Queue enabled="false">
    disables live publisher queues & aggregate messages ad
    therefore "the delay". (the delay should be reduced to <100 ms
    for a perfect kind of network or LAN)
    --> On client side: Do NOT use NetStream.setBufferTime API
    at all ! i.e. do not set any buffer on client side.; Flash player
    (upto 10, the current version) would try its best to keep the
    buffer around 0.1 seconds, which is the default value.
    OmicronPersei8,
    Which publisher are you using to publish the live stream?
    Sometimes , it is possible that a some fault at stream publisher
    may make buffer at flash player grow.
    I hope this would help !

  • How to find metrics for live streams?

    Hi there,
    We have installed FMS and have used it for a live streaming video event.  The event lasted an hour and FMS worked great.
    How can I get statistics on that live stream?  I'd like to know how many people saw the video, and how many people were watching at one time.
    Can you please tell me where to find this?
    Thanks

    One way to check this is to use the FMS logs. The access logs in <FMS install>/logs folder contains all such information regarding events with time. With default logger configuration it records only certain events like connect, disconnect, etc.  and fields related to them. To enable more logging make changes to the following tags in conf/Logger.xml
    tag 1. Modify <Events> value under <access>. The value of this tag controls which events will be logged in access.00.log. Select the ones which you need. The information of all events have been provided.
    tag2: <Fields> under <access> Similarly you can configure what fields you want to be logged for each event.
    I understand this is not very straight forward as this log may get very large. So you may also consider using file parsers which may be available and use them to parse this file.
    Another way is to use admin API commands. You can check the list of admin APIs listed in FMS documentation. These APIs may give you some information too and you can use the most suitable ones for your purpose.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek

  • Publishing multi-bitrate live streams for iOS

    I'm having difficulties publishing multi-bitrate live streams that can be viewed on an iPad/iPhone.
    I'm running Flash Media Server 4.5, and have carefully followed Adobe's Tutorial on streaming live media (http) using hls found here:  http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd609-52e437a812a3725df a0-8000.html#WS0432746db30523c21e63e3d12e8340f669-8000
    After completing the above tutorial, the video can be seen just fine on my desktop computer via the flash plug-in, but it's not working in iOS...
    When I go to what I believe to be the proper URL, (http://myflashmediaserver.net/myevent.m3u8),  I get an error message on my iPhone and iPad saying "The operation could not be completed".
    I have created two set-level manifest files (one .f4m and one .m3u8) for the live stream using the Set Level F4M/M3U8 File Generator and saved them to the WebRoot directory, but alas, no love.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Mike

    I just finished going through the short and sweet tutorial on the Adobe website "Capture, encode and stream live multi-bitrate video over HTTP to Flash and iOS", which confirmed that I seem to be doing everything right, but I'm still getting the "The operation could not be completed" error message on both iPad and iPhone.
    Grasping at straws, I'm wondering if it could have something to do with some of the "hacks" I was asked to make in the other tutorials, (which, oddly enough, weren't mentioned in the tutorial mentioned above).  Specifically:
         • Edit FMLE config file on the Mac I'm encoding the live video on (change <streamsynchronization> from false to true)
         • Delete/Rename the "manifest.xml" file in applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent directory
         • Edit "event.xml" in applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent (change <segmentduration> from 40,000 to 16,000)
    However, I've tried running this with the above hacks as well as in their non-hacked state and am still not seeing success.
    Please advise.  Thanks!
