Player froze, someone please h

Hi. I'm new here and also new to mp3 players. I will try my best to describe what happened. I was ripping some CDs to my Zen Sleek player and everything was working fine. Then in the middle of a track it just stopped. It looked like the battery died. So I clicked to stop the rip, shut the program, and tried to shut the player. But I could not shut it. No backlight, nothing. The "docked" symbol is on the player screen, with the darkened arrows, as if it is transferring, but I cancelled the transfers and shut the program. It still did not change so I waited a while for the battery to possibly die out, but nothing happened. The booklet says not to unplug it because the file transfers could be ruined, but no file was being transferred, so I removed the cable. Still nothing. The screen is frozen on this picture! I don't know what to do. I was going to plug the charger in to see if a fresh charge would help, but I am afraid of breaking the player. If the battery did die out during ripping a CD, what are you supposed to do to fix it's It's just frozen now. The battery symbol has the "lightning bolt" in it. And if it is frozen how do you get it back to normal? Shouldn't the screen have nothing on it and just be blank? Could someone please tell me what I can try or how to get customer service. This player is brand new and has been working fine until now. I've put more than 000 songs on it that worked fine. Thank you for any advice or help you can give.

Try resetting the player. Use a bent paperclip and press the reset button gently. Locate the reset button from the manual (I can't tell you where exactly, since i don't have a Sleek myself.)

It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

I am trying to make a Presentation to email for others to see without a browser, but when I do, it doesn't show. I've downloaded Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22, I've built the presentation, I've published the presentation and uploaded to my hosting. I have tried everythiing I can think of. It works on my machine; however, when I try to view it out of it's containing folder, it doesn't show anything but the preloader. Can someone please help me?
I can send you an example of a working Presentation along with a Zip file containing my presentation with everything I've built if my explanation isn't quite clear. Please help.

So my first Zen Micro froze on me. No amount of tech support could save it. I returned it and received a new replacement. Within days my replacement had begun to freeze, and I would bravely pull out the battery and reboot it. I think (keep your fingers crossed) that I've unstuck whatever that bug was. NOW - my new issue - the dreaded "No license to play - please sync from PC" error. So, reluctantly, I downloaded the 2..05 Beta firmware, which as far as I understood it, resolved this issue specifically. After a successful download and install, I rebooted in hopes that it would be fixed. Well, it's still giving me the error. I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong. And I am down to one download on all of my Napster 2 Go songs (due to the same problem on my first Micro). So I have three choices:
) Ask all of you what I can to do get this resolved easily.
2) Delete my entire library, and use my last sync license and load it all onto my Micro again (which is a good hour project)
3) Gi've up an buy an iPod. I am pulling out my hair in frustration, and I'm telling you... I always felt the same way you all did about Apple and the iPod. But the reality is, NONE of my friends have my harware/software issues. All I ask for is two consecuti've weeks of listening to my MP3 player without license issues, frozen hard dri'ves, reboots, pulling out the battery numerous times, etc. I just want to listen.... turn it off.... and know that it will turn back on again when I want it to.
Someone please help, and convince me that I should give this one last shot!!

Well, it's perfectly understandable that your iPod-bearing friends don't have issues with N2Go, because they can't use it!
So I guess you have to determine whether your problems lie with the actual player or the N2Go service.
Do you have problems playing/synching songs you've ripped yourself or that you've bought from a service other than N2Go?

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar. Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com. Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

Quicktime movie trailers still not playing, could someone please help me?

I have not been able to watch any movie trailers from quicktime for two years now and this is really getting old.

I have all system requirments and updates also allready unselected derctX and selected safe mode, still all I get when loading the movie trailer from QT websight is the white box with QT logo in middle, sometime the logo will also have ?mark over it. I figured it was just taking its own sweet time loading so I wated it out. 4 hours later there was still no change. you'd think apple would have fixed or resolved this problem since it has been ongoing for last two or more years.

I'm not familiar with XP Home, you should be able to right click on the folder, and set the share permissions. You may have to turn off Simple Sharing to get access to this. Also you can set permissions on the folder as well. The share permissions I believe are Read, Write and Full Control. The NTFS should be able to set Read, Write, Modify, etc. Remember in Windows it will take the least privileged, meaning if you set the Share permissions to Read, and the NTFS to Write, you will only be able to read.

As to what it might be, that's hard to say. You should try some basic troubleshooting... Repair the hard drive with disk utility. Boot in safe mode and see if it happens then, log in to a different user account and see if it happens there, reboot from another system and see if it happens.
Apparently some people have had this kind of problem caused by swelling batteries that push on the underside of the trackpad and cause all kinds of strange problems. Is your machine's underside deformed at all?

Can someone please give me detailed instruction on what to do no next. I've read several forum discussion on this subject and seen various examples. i would like help with mine. Reason being is because my MBP boot up time is almost around 2-3mins long sometimes it can even be upto 5mins. reason i ask is because i know this is not normal. compared to my macbook (mid-2010) this is REALLY slow. And all the specs of my MBP should in theory make my MB a thing of the past. (Why i bought the MBP in the first place). i've done PRAM reset and booted in Safe Mode. i've removed several applications using the correct uninstalls where required.

Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged after the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutesafter the boot time, not before. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post any other kind of diagnostic report, such as hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

MP3 Player froze u

I don't know what to do. My MP3 player froze up today. It's stuck in the Now Playing mode, with the song, but nothing is playing. The backlight is on too. The little icon says it's skipping ahead to a different song... The screen saver won't go on, it won't play, it won't go back, and I can't get it to turn off. Ack. Please help me.
Should I take the card out?! Ah! I really want this to be okay again.

I have this problem too....it was fine until last week it started freezing and then shutting off. Then it progessed to freezing at the welcome screen, now I can't even turn it on. I downloaded the new firmware and it still doesn't work! Pretty disappointing for a player that worked perfect for less than a month. And since their customer support is only open during hours that I work, and it takes them at least day to respond to emails, I feel like I am never going to get this taken care of.

Someone please help. It's about DVD playback.

OK, so I MADE a DVD on iDVD with my MacBook and I burn it with a "Maxwell DVD -RW DATA - Video" disc.
So after my MacBook succesfully burned the DVD. I took it out and played the DVD on my old old DVD Player in the living room. Played fine, everything was great(Except one of the movies I had on there was all blue; no other colors, something must of gone wrong with the burning because in the iDVD project that section played normal). So I played it on my roommates computer, he has a old Toshiba running Windows XP, and it played perfectly(except that chapter that played in all blue). I take it back to my MacBook to play it and I insert the disc. The DVD program comes up but nothing happens. I click the play button and it says "Disc is not supported" or something like that.
I do not get why it doesnt play, especially if I made the DVD on the same computer and it played on my old dvd player and on my roommates old computer.
Can someone please help me?

hiya - if this is a new mac (and you haven't played another disc yet) try putting in a bought dvd from your collection - it should then ask you to select a region
once you have selected your appropriate region (remember that you only get so many changes) - try inserting your idvd disc and see how you get on - it should now recognise it and play fine

Can someone please tell me how I am supposed to sign in to my iCloud account. It tells me it recognises my Apple account but it isn't my cloud account. Please keep answers simple as I've looked at other responses and they completely lose me.

This is typical Apple to be honest. The only reason I use iTunes is for my iPod. Perhaps I need to find another mp3 player.
You do not need iCloud for iTunes, I am sorry that you misunderstand but iCloud and iTunes do not require each other.
I'm certainly not paying the inflated prices that Apple charge for their laptops that are quite frankly no better than my Dell.
I've had Dells, they are worth what you pay, no more.
