Player instead of Nano?

I made the mistake of buying a Nano...two months later it broke down. Got a new one on the guarantee, two months later and now it´s broken, in the repairshop. I want to buy something else that will be able to play my music from Itunes. Suggestions? Money is not a problem, but I will never buy anything marked with an apple again...

You do realize this is an Apple support forum, so I doubt you'll get much of an answer from here. Unfortunately, iTunes locks you into the iPod. So, if you go with another player, you can use all your same music (with the exception of music purchased from the iTMS, which you will have to convert), but you will not be able to use iTunes.
You seem fairly set in your decision, but I will say I have had three iPods and have had exactly zero problems with all of them.
Good luck,
JC

While installing a program (MediaCenter.exe) to handle audiobooks from the library, I erroneously associated the download site with Windows Media Player instead of the actual application (NetLibrary Media Center). How can I reverse/change this? Reinstalling the application does not clear the error, so I'm assuming the association is somewhere in Firefox.

Never mind -- I just found it under Tools/Options.../Applications, where I changed the incorrect association of "nlmcp" from Windows Media Player to the correct one, NetLibrary Media Center. Done!

  • A script to force acrobat to play avi content with built in flash player instead of quicktime

Hello, is there a script that would force acrobat to play embedded avi content with the built in flash player instead of the quicktime player?  first reason is that the built in quicktime player doesn't play the avi files anyway (for me at least); and second is that there are hundreds of sound clips in the pdf, and it is likely that i will have to revise the document and export again, so I can't manually change the properties of each sound clip to open with flash player.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Buy software have wmv to Vp6 function.

  • Open Flash Player instead of Web browser

Is it possible to set flash builder to open the built swf with flash player instead of the web browser?

if you go into your project properties, you select run/debug settings in the left pane, on the right pane select the project and then go to edit.
from there you can set the launch path,
    it would be something like
    http://localhost/MyProj-debug/MyProj.html  for browser
    or
    c:\MyWorkSpace\MyProj\bin-debug\MyProj.swf to launch in flashplayer

  • How To Launch QuickTime7 Player Instead of Browswer Plugin???

I have some movie trailers encoded in QuickTime7 H.264, just like Apple's movie trailers that they call "HD 480p." I am trying to make these trailers launch the QuickTime standalone player, like the pro "HD" trailers on Apple's Movie Trailer site do (instead of launching within the browser). Does anybody know how to accomplish this? Thanks!!!

Use absolute address for the movie that will open in the player. I have found that using relative address on can keep clicking on the link in the bowser over and over...opening more than one player. The movie in the browser does can be small in dimension.

  • Embedded avi content – default playback on built-in flash player instead of quicktime?

Hello, I am creating a pdf book with hundreds of audio clips embedded.  Because Indesign can't import mp3, I actually had to convert all my mp3 files to avi files without video, then import those into the indesign document for export to pdf. I used avi because it uses an mp3 codec (??) and keeps each sound file at 300k compared to 4mb for the same file as an swf or wav. Size is important because the book has 800 clips in total.  So that was my first question.  Would anyone have done something different?  Well now I have a second issue.  When Indesign exports to pdf, the avi files (embedded) are set to automatically open with the built-in quicktime player.  And I noticed that the embedded avi files are identified as "quicktime content." This would be ok with me if the quicktime player played the files, but it doesn't; it just freezes when I click on the file.  Now, of course, I can manually change each avi file in the pdf to open with the built-in flash player, and that works fine, and that's the player I'd like the files to open with, but this is impossible as a solution because if I have to edit this document in a month or so, I would then have to manually change the properties (rendition) of all the avi files again in the new pdf.  As it is now, when I open the pdf and select the avi object then click properties, then edit rendition, I see that quicktime has been chosen as the default. Is there a way to export from indesign to pdf so that the preferred player of avi files is not set automatically to quicktime, and instead to flash player? I hope I've described the issues clearly.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi Chris,
Hardware acceleration on or off makes absolutely no difference, i recently tried watching videos in a 100% fresh install and new profile in firefox (no addons) and the problem still occurs albiet a little slower in the new install, ie it takes a little longer to drop out of synch.
There is a noticeable difference in framerate just before the problem occurs, like a very tiny hiccup, from that point on the audio gets left further and further behind, it's remedied by clicking back a few seconds on the video play bar but this is only temporary, lately i've even noticed it happening with live streams from the BBC, once again i must stress, this doesn't happen in Chrome or Opera or IE.

  • Script to force embedded avi to open with acrobat's built-in flash player instead of quicktime

Hi, when I export to pdf with an avi file embedded, acrobat automatically tries to play it with the built-in quicktime player, which it fails to do; it just ends up freezing.  Is there a script for indesign that would tell the avi file to open with the built in flash player (in acrobat) instead? or would that be an acrobat script?  When I open the pdf, I notice that it reconizes the embedded avi as "quicktime content." I am guessing that indesign made it "quicktime content" when it imported the avi?  any suggestions would be appreciated.

But as soon as I install QuickTime--even though the default for .m4a is
still set to WMP--in IE8 the .m4a file is now opening up with the QuickTime
browser plugin! Windows Explorer is still fine and it opens up the file
with WMP, but only IE is using the wrong default program.
Okay ... if it's MPEG 4 audio files causing the issue, try the following procedure.
Launch QuickTime. Go "Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences". Click the "Browser" Tab. Click the "MIME Types" button.
Expand *MPEG - MPEG system, video, and audio files* and uncheck "MPEG audio". OK out of the tabs, and quit QuickTime.
Does IE 8 launch the .m4a files in WMP now?

  • View Log Function on Palm TX opens in Windows Media Player, instead of a new window.

    hi,
when i clicked on "view log" after a hot sync operation a few hours ago, it brought up windows media player which, of course, could not display it. this is the first occurrence. i am using a palm tx with desktop version 4.2 and a hot sync version of 6.0.1. Strangely, view log opened up on my handheld as it has done many times. i closed the hot sync program, then opened it, and tried a hot sync--no go, media played still opened.
i'm running the palm program on an IBM Thinkpad, with windows xp pro, SP2.
thanks, in advance, for your advice.

Your computer has a File Association problem.
The HotSync log file on a PC has an extension of .htm.  Somehow, your computer has associated Windows Media Player with that type of file.
Open My Computer, then pick the Tools tab.  Choose  Folder Options, then the File Types tab.
Scroll down to the HTM file extension, and see what program is associated with it.  I'm betting it says Windows Media Player.  Tap the "Change" button, and pick the web browser program you use (mine is set to FireFox).  Click the checkmark in "Always use this program" then click OK.
    Now it should open correctly.

  • Player for iPod nano 3rd generation

Have a new generation nano, have bought 3 sets of speakers, and NONE will play. iPod either goes black and does nothing or will play songs, but no controls will work so I can't advance or use menus. I notice a lot of advertising says "works with most iPods"...I need speakers for this thing so my kid will get out of the kitchen!!! Am I doing something wrong or is this thing that unfriendly?

You need to identify the BRAND of speakers you're referring to. I have used a couple different ones without problems, but that doesn't mean everything is compatible. Usually you can read reviews of speakers BEFORE you buy (in the Apple store online) to make sure they work as advertised.

  • I want all my videos to play through one player, instead of having multiple videos!!

I would like to embed a video player into a PDF.  I would like to have links in my document that, when clicked will trigger different videos to play in the ebedded video player.  So In other words, I would like to have 5 videos on one page, but I want them all to play out of a single Video Player.  (I don't want to have multiple video players on a page)  Hopefully that makes sense.  Someone please help me...I am using Acrobat X

With the default tools, not possible. However you can do it with a custom video widget (embedding the widget as a SWF file, manually adding the skin and all the videos to the Resources list, then controlling it with JavaScript).

  • Firefox does not recongnize some downloadable file (e.g., Adobe Flash Player); instead it opens a new tab with nothing in it.

Firefox cannot download the files I want to download sometimes. For example installing Flash Player. It opens a new tab with URL "http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US_i386.pkg.zip" and title "adberdr.pkg.zip (application/zip object)" on it. It happens when I have to download some dmg or compressed files.

  • (Zen Xtra) Files opening in Windows Media Player instead of Mediasou

I just updated the Firmware, and now when I plug my player in, Windows Media player opens it and Creative Mediasource will not recognize my player. I tried uninstalling Mediasource, then reinstalling, but still didn't help. Anyone else have this problem, or does anyone have any suggestions?

If you have update the player using the PlayForSure firmware, make sure you have download and install the PlayForSure plugin file too for MediaSource.

  • How do I make iTunes my default music player instead of Quicktime?

First let me say I'm not very tech savy so this could all be something simple that I'm overlooking but iTunes used to be my default player on my mac but now when I try to play music files from other devices such as a flash drive it prompts Quicktime to start up. Any ideas on how to change this back to iTunes?

Select a document in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, click on Open With, select the desired application, and press the Change All button.
