Player keeps on freezing

Hi,
I have a problem with watching a movie with adobe flash
player (9). It downloads the movie and starts it well but every few
seconds the player freezes. Either that or it's buffering
constantly. Is there a way to change the player settings? Or is
there another solution? I have tried to re-install the player.
clear my cache/cookies etc. Thanks for your help.

hello, i have a mac powerbook g4 running 10.3.9 and the
player keeps freezing on me too on cbs .com trying to watch videos
of past programs. someone said it's streaming and can only come as
fast as it comes in but if it's a past video how can it be

Could you try steps:
(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
(2) Disable Flash using hardware acceleration. See this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable the protected mode feature. This involves creating or editing a settings file. You can disable that by creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different ways to do that:

Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.

Flash player keeps freezing on live streams

Why does my flash player keep freezing when I play live videos. When I play live videos on youtube like concerts they always freeze after about 2 minutes and then I have to refresh my browser. The same thing happens when I try to use Tinychat and it gets frustrating that I have to keep resfreshing my browser. I have tried uninstalling flash and reinstalling it again but that doesn't help.

(It did stop buffering after 8minutes for whatever reason but it was more lag (my connection) as it showed spinning circles then started again, on firefox there are no spinning circles, it just stops and never goes further.)

My adobe flash player keeps crashing. Why?

I use Mozilla Firefox exclusively as my browser. When I am connected to Facebook and playing their casino games, the Adobe Flash player keeps randomly crashing. When it crashes, it locks up the computer and I have to shut down and reopen the browser. Recently, an information box has been opening up in the upper left corner of the screen called the Adobe Flash Player action box or something like that. The context is filled with lots of computer jargon I don't understand. At the bottom of the box there are 2 options to pick from, either dismiss or continue. Most of the time the screen freezes up before I've had the chance to pick one. After I go to the Windows task manager and shut down the boxes that were open, I get the normal gray "Adobe Flash Player has crashed" screen. The really odd thing is that there is no prompt allowing me to send a crash report to Mozilla. I have uninstalled and completely reinstalled the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Just in case these might be a problem, I have the following 3 "add-ons" loaded in to the browser: Quick Time Plug-in 7.7.6 7.7.6.0, Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.305, and Shockwave for Director 12.1.7.157. As well, in case they might be the problem, I have the following 2 programs installed into my computer are: Adobe Flash Player 16 NPAPI and Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1. FYI: I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit. Hopefully I have given you enough information to make an assessment. If you need anything from me, please let me know. My macbook keeps on freezing with black screen

My Macbookpro keeps on freezing. Suddenly the screen goes black and it does not respond to any command.

It could be one of many problems, including a failing Graphics Card/RAM/HDD (I suspect the first one)
What you need to do is to perform a full Apple Hardware Test and post the results here.
On your computer, the AHT program is on the second DVD that came with your machine.

I updated my Firefox on the weekend to 3.6.6 and now it keep on freezing when ever i open firefox

it been really annoying recently using Firefox because it keep on freezing when every i open a new window. I have to close and keep on trying to open a new page until it doesn't "freeze" it been happening most of the time i open Firefox. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

Deleting the user com.apple.DVDPlayer.plist file does fix it. Problem presents itself for us because our iMac's are connected to a projector in the classroom. Disconnect the mini-display connector and the problem also goes away when the DVD player is launched. Dump the user plist for DVDPlayer and good to to. Not a 3rd party software issue for us.

Try to run a virus cleaner. Not your antivirus program. It surely cannot identify it as a malware since it let it through.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Just chiming in to say that I am experiencing the same issues.
using Win 7, Firefox 19.0, Flash 11.6.602.168
Tried the DRM fix,
Tried uninstalling Firefox and Flash, restarting Win 7, reinstalling Firefox and Flash
Tried reinstalling display and my NVidia drivers.
Still getting "Sorry we were unable to stream this video" message.
Also having problems on Chrome.
Some troubleshooting threads suggest to go to chrome://plugins and disable the chrome flash player.
When i disable the chrome flash player and try to play an amazon instant video, I get the "Sorry we were unable to stream this video" message.
When i disable the system flash player and try to play an amazon instant video, the video plays but 'stutters.' The audio is fine, but the video alternately pauses and plays for a second or two over and over again.
AIV works just fine on my iPad.
For everyone viewing, please take 30 secs to create an account and let Adobe know that their product is causing problems for your Amazon service.
This needs to get fixed asap!
