Playhead jumps back two beats when hitting play

Playhead jumps back two beats when I press play for one of my GarageBand projects; doesn't occur in other projects. Is there an obscure setting that will fix this problem?
This occurs whether I'm playing or recording. It occurs with or without cycle region. If the cycle region is turned on, the playhead will jump to two beats before the beginning of the region before starting the cycle playback.
"Count In" turned off.
This issue sapped my entire evening; any help would be appreciated a lot!
Using GarageBand '08 on the late '08 white MacBook4,1. OSX 10.5.8

Try resetting your GB preferences or Mac permissions files...that sometimes works for problems like yours.

Playhead jumps back a beat and a half every time I press play

Hey Everyone,
Having a very strange problem here where I'll position the Playhead where I want to start playing, press the space bar to begin playback, and the play head will jump a beat and a half behind its current position and start playing from this earlier point. If the track is already playing, and I click a position, the playhead jumps exactly where I indicated and continues playing from there. The problem only occurs when I stop playback, position the playhead, and press play. Anyone seen this before? Any Idea how to fix it?

Google search result page jumps back to top when opening a result in a new tab

hello
when searching from www.google.com, using 100 search results per page.
i will scroll down the page, find a hit worth looking at, right click on it to open it in a new tab, and then immediately the search result page will jump back to the top.
whereupon i will have to again scroll down to where i was to look a subsequent search results :-(

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Jump cuts to beat when NOT the first clip

Hi I want to add jump cuts to a sound clip that is not the first one in the project.
After a lot of false starts in trying to get jump cuts onto a clip when the music was just
(a) attached to an exisitng film clip (green underneath the clip) - Won't work. or
(b) a pinned - sound clip first, movie clip second but where the sound does not butt up against another background clip (wrapped in purple) - Won't work
I've got it to work where it is background music - sound first, movie second (wrapped round in green). I've opened up the Clip Trimmer, added the beats on the beat with the 'M' key - highlighted the movie cliip - selected Clip>Jump cut to Beat Markers> chosen a frame rate BUT only where the background clip is the FIRST background.
If you add more songs to a project and go through the same sequence as before the number of frames is not greyed out but the app just doesn't do anything. All the tutorials online only ever show you adding jump cuts to the one and only music track but never to the second one.
This is v. frustating. Sounds like a bug to me.
Is there a way of breaking up the project so that it will play as one continuous film and so allowing different parts of the film to be the first piece of background music?

HD Movie won't play after downloading. When hit play, this pops up: "This movie cannot be played on this computer"

I have a Macbook Pro 13inch with retina display with a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, with a 250 GB storage capacity, which 30 GB is still available. Its OS X 10.9.4 version.
I recently purchased Divergent in HD in the Itunes store. I downloaded it, but when I hit play, a message appears that says "This cannot be played on this computer." I have authorized my computer so that is not the issue. Any thoughts?

You might want to try it again. It started working for me about 10 minutes ago (~8pm CST).
This was happening for rentals and purchases.

Can an "autoplay" QT jump back a page when finshed?

This may be too much to ask of a simple little app like iWeb, but here goes.....
I have an Index page ("videos") that has hyperlinks to pages containing "autoplay" videos. Is it possible to do something on one of the autoplay video pages that would cause it, once it finished playing, to jump back to the Index page?

Only thing is, I am a complete NOOBIE with iWeb & HTML, etc. so I don't really understand what I am to do with the code on that page? Would I copy it in to an HTML snippet, and where does the snippet go? On the movies page, or on the page that precedes the movie (the one that it will jump back to?

Timeline playhead goes back to beginning when it hits end

Is there a preference or something somewhere I need to
turn off to prevent the playhead in the timeline from

Why not mark it as 'Answered' (which you should do anyway) then post what you did to fix it. That would help others who encounter the same problem.
Ctrl+L toggles timeline looping.

How to make it jump back to previous menu while playing track

Can I simply set some kind of back button to go back to the menu it was at before the track began playing? I have two detailed menus in addition to the main menu, and want to go back to the detailed menu rather than the main one. I'd still like her to be able to hit 'menu' and go to the main menu when she wants it though. Maybe this is staring me in the face and I'm missing it but I'm not sure how to do this.

What you would normally do is set the menu command for the track to a script which sends the user back to the menu where they pressed the button to go to the track

I am not sure what you mean by the back button? You can set commands for various things but you need to decide how you want to implement this.
Normally people will use menu command to go back to the calling menu and not the main menu and you can perhaps route the title remote command to the main menu.

IPad with retina is stuck on error message that iPad is unable to back up. When hit ok, the message does not go away. Cannot power down. Don't have computer to sync with iTunes. Now what?

My coworker has a fairly new iPad with retina display. She has an error message that the iPad has not been backed up and needs to back up when locked, on wifi, and connected to a power supply. It has an ok button to acknowledge the message. Every time she hits the ok button, the error message remains. She is unable to power down because the error message stays at the top and disables the ability to use any other touch portions of the screen. She tried using Siri to reboot, but Siri was of no help. She just kept saying that she does not wear boots. Holding the power button down for an extended period also did not help. She does not have access to the computer that has her iTunes on it, so she cannot sync it via cable. She also does not want to do a reset because she has several photos that she does not want to lose. What can she do?

Try holding the Home and Power keys at the same time for approx 10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears, this will 'reset' the device - it won't lose any data doing this, let us know how you get on.

DVDSP plays video instead of programmed jump back to menu.

After playing one video clip, DVD is programmed to end jump to the menu, but instead, it plays another video clip, from a completely different menu. There is no doubt that the end jump is definitely to the menu, not to another video clip. What is causing this phenom?

Yes, All the tracks are separate assets and separate tracks. The end jump for A is the menu from which it came.
(Menu 2, Button 2=play videoA - jumpback to menu 2) The tracks are on separate time lines.
I did fix the problem, but created a new one! (SEE BELOW, I'd love to see if you have anysuggestions for the new problem)
I think the program just freaked out.
It really did not make any sense at all. I tried to delete the one track that kept attaching itself to the wrong buttons. (track d)
(Menu 2, Button 2=play videoA - jumpback to menu 2, had become: Menu 2, button 2= play video A & video D from menu 4 button 3 then jump back two menu 2)
I deleted track D from it's proper menu and button, removed it as an asset in the button editor, removed it's button from it's menu, removed it from the graphical, and then went to remove it from the assets folder. But dvdsp told me that it could not be deleted from assets folder because is was "in use by track A and track B" That was wierd because the tracks were in no way linked.
So I deleted all the offending tracks A, D and B, and reimported them into assets and reprogramed them to the buttons in the appropriate menus.
That fixed that problem! Now the videos play as they should when the correct buttons are activated. BUT that created a new problem.
NEW PROBLEM:
Now I can not see images in the buttons for A,D, or B. That is to say, I've got fifteen buttons each is assigned a freezeframe from the buttons' target video (Button Asset). I see the video freeze frame in all the buttons except for these three. In those buttons, all i see is the background. They are all programmed just as the rest are in the button editor, the target video is assigned to the button and them the button asset is assigned to be same as target video, motion is NOT clicked as I want a single frame to be seen.
But even though the settings are the same for all the buttons, these three won't show up.
I'm thinking its like a memory problem.... but it can't be. I've got 4GHZ of ram and 400 Ghz hard drive, of which 290GHZ is available.
Any suggestions?

Play back stops 10 seconds in when first playing project

so when i first open a project and press play to hear it itll stop right when it reaches the main part of the song where all the instruments kick in.. itll say "error" or project overload. But when i play it from the beginning again it will play back just fine, every time. ??

Logic's method has always been to free resources when the sequencer is stopped.
VI's are shut down as are any FX plugins, after stopping Logic the CPU meter will eventually drop to zero. This was done early on and was a saving grace for many years as it allowed almost any computer with enough RAM to run Logic and still have a resonably quick machine (say for editing) when the sequencer was not running.
Most, if not all other MIDI/Audio sequencers keep plugins and VI's partially active and as a result can quickly bog down underpowered computers. However, the upside is... when hitting play you don't get a bunch of VI's, FX plugins and disk buffers suddenly going from 0 to 160kph trying to grab a load of data, memory and CPU cycles at the same time.
Personally, in this day of 8-core 3gHz machines Logic could change it's M/O and no one would ever notice.
Just my opinion but the way Logic works has created several other small related problems that sometimes make it appear less than professional.

Audiobooks purchased from Audible.com. They play on iTunes on my computer. They have been playing on my iPod Classic until two days ago. I'm in the middle of two books and now one does not keep track of where I am and the other does not play. I also have other books not playing on the iPod that use to play. They all play on iTunes on my computer.

Help! On my new iPhone 4S, I can see all of my music and vidoes that I downloaded from itunes that I had previously purchased on my iPhone 4, BUT I can not play any of the songs! When I hit "play" from my 'albums' and 'playlist' or 'songs' it looks like it is going to play the song when the song screen comes up showing the album but then the screen starts flipping from album to album or song to song randomly. Then after flipping thru anywhere from 10-15 songs, it stops and goes back the previous page showing my list of music.... I have synched my phone, restored it and downloaded all of my music and videos. The only things I can get to play from my iPod on my iPhone 4S is my videos, no music. Can anyone help me? PROJECT BUG: Playhead skipping back 3/4 beat. Logic not playing audio

Only in one project is Logic not playing audio/the playhead is not moving forward.
The playhead moves back a few ticks when I press spacebar or click play on the transport. It does not continue after this.
Please help!

Try using the Selective Track Import feature to import each track to a new project.....
