I have Window Vista...Im not to computer friendly when it comes to deep details about the systems so I dont really know if its 32 or 64 bit but I did see that it is 919 bytes.
I WAS able to see the videos before the upgrade and the flash animation does NOT rotate in red F.

Sound coming from both speakers and headphones at the same time in probook 4440s

I have a Probook 4440s with windows 8 pro(64 bit) with IDT high definition codec installed. Yesterday when i was playing some songs i noticed that the sound was coming from both headphones and speakers even when my headphones are plugeed in and my lappy was having no such problems a few hours earliers while i was watching a movie. Please help..

It may be because you have both the internal speakers and headphones enabled at the sametime on your laptop. This might just happen automatically when you plug your headphones in. You need to manage your audio devices on your laptop.
Go to Control Panel> Hardware and Sounds> Manage Audio Devices> Playback Tab (which should already be selected)
In the playback tab there should be a list of all the audio devices you are using on your computer. Right click on the one you don't want to use and click disable. This should stop the sound coming from that audio device.
Remember: You will need to enable that audio device if you want to listen to sound through it again. Your internal speakers won't work once you enable them again. This might also be the case with your headphones. You may also have to do this every time your plug in a device or once you restart your computer.
Another note: Sometimes disabled devices will not show up on the audio device list so once you disable a device it will dissappear. This is an easy fix too. Just right click on an audio device and make sure show disabled devices and show disconnected devices is checked.

(I was using a computer with Windows XP to explain the instructions but it should be similar with your Windows Operating System. You may however have to play around a little on your computer because it may be slightly different)

Alert plays extra sound

I recently upgraded from thunderbird 26.4 to 31.2. I have always had it play a sound when new mail arrives, and since I upgraded to 26.4 it has also put up an alert box (showing who the new mail is from). Now, it still does both of those things, but the alert box now plays an extra sound (which I'm not sure how to describe, but is 3 notes, rising in pitch, sounding kind of like "di-de-loo") that is played at the same time as my new email sound. Both sounds played together are highly annoying. If I turn of "Show an alert" it doesn't play the extra sound - but also doesn't put up the box showing me who the mail was from. If I turn off "play a sound" I just get the "di-de-loo", which is not what I want
I'm running mountain lion on a mbp retina. If I go to the sound effects tab in the system preferences, I can "select an alert sound" but that seems to be a different sound. Just a kind of a beep (called "funk") that I get under certain circumstances - like when I hit backspace when I'm already at the beginning of a prompt in a terminal window. I can't tell where it might be getting that "di-de-loo" sound from.

I suppose(d) he's after 2 analog outputs only (if he need to swap cables then he supposeingly uses the same output line for both). If he uses multichannel analog speakersystem then the matter is whole different --> he will need a splitter or switcher to split/switch between that ch/ch2 -line between speakers and headphones. <i>I see only two analog inputs and one digital I(/O) on that Flexi Jack description you bring here (did this just become inserted on wrong thread?)</i>.
Yes, present (good) cards have separate headphone output line (with own amp, and w/wo external boxes).

Projected Stock for a given Material and Location (System: SCM-APO)

How to merge to frequencies together and play it? I have a program that outputs two numbers everytime and those numbers in Hz. I want to merge those two different frequencies and play the sound.

I have a program that reads from a table done in excel and finds two numbers from the table(they're different all the time). Those numbers are represented in Hz. What I want now is how to merge those two numbers as frequencies and output them and hear them from the speaker as audio. I also have the part of hearing them done but I can't figure out a way to have it connected so that it doesn't matter which numbers come up, it'll update it accordinaly. I appreciate any helpers.

I've upgraded to OS 10.8.2 and my Bowers and Wilkins MM-1 Speakers were working fine until today, and now they won't play any sound at all, even though iTunes shows the audio is playing. I've tried both the headphone jack and the USB port. Please help!

Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

Setting "use system alert? (T)" true, I can hear the beep; Setting "use system alert? (T)" false, certain frequency and duration time, I can't hear any sound. Why?

Your PC speaker only covers certain frequencies.. Mine goes as low as 37 Hz, which I cannot be distinguished from other lower frequencies. I have to go up to 80 Hz before hearing any difference. I can hear up to 14000 Hz and barely 15000 Hz. Now, you cannot compare this with a Hi-Fidelity sound system..
As for setting False, it will not play anything. So all appears normal.. And of course, if it does not play anything, the duration setting is ignored..

EDIT: I just read the othe people's posts.. The frequency & duration settings work fine on my machine. It is a PC, running Win-XP.
(Finally, I can say something positive about a PC running XP.. )

Scaling Voltage to different sound frequency and decibels

I am trying to figure out how to convert (voltage samples) to play different frequency of sounds (e.g., at 1 voltage have the play waveform.vi have a different pitch than another voltage let say 2 V). Additionally, I also want to configure the "Sound Output Set Volume" to change the volume of the output based on the voltage also. Any insights to these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Not quite sure what you mean. Sounds like you want one voltage to control both the frequency and the volume at the same time. Do you mean two voltages?
If that's the case, you need to define a function that will relate the input voltage to the output frequency, something like f = 4000*V (for a five volt scale), and something similar to volume. Do you have that or am I misunderstanding your question?

It sounds like even though the Mute switch is not on, sounds are not making the, well, sound they should, and the volume buttons make a blank volume indicator appear on the screen that does not show the volume level.
I wanted to recommend a couple of things.
First, I would reset the phone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If that does not resolve the issue, then you may want to try backing up to iTunes, and restoring the iPhone again but this time do not restore the backup and set it up as new to see if the issue persists without the previous configuration.

How do you play multiple sounds simultaneously and synchronized?

lets say I have two wave files that are similar in play length but not quite the same. I calculate a new frame rate for reach to make their lengths almost perfectly the same. Now I want to play them and have them repeat for a while.. If I don't synchronize them in some fashion, inevitably the slight difference in play time will cause them to unsync.
what's the best way to keep them in sync? I've been trying playing each sound in it's own thread for the past few days and using thread synchronization, but that isn't working so well.

I found the answer I'm looking for! version 1.5 came out with the CyclicBarrier class that causea a thread to pause when it calls the barriers await() function until a predetermined number of threads call await().
So I can create a barrier of size (ThreadCount) and tell all threads to pause at the beginning of a measure until all threads have checked in. That way all threads are out the gate at the same time every measure.

If your phone is offline, the ONLY way to find it is to look for it the old fashioned way. Your phone CANNOT be located electronically if it's offline.

I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. I wonder if somehow you ended up with a short inside of your iPad. Give the things below are trying to see if that helps. Good luck.
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
