Playing Albums Sequentially on iPhone 5 (IOS7.0.x)

There were 24 pages on one post on a similar, but not quite the same subject. You'd think that someone in that faceless, nanny knows best, ivory tower would have taken some notice by now. But anyway, I thought I stood more chance of getting a response to this if I started a fresh thread. Please excuse me if this is the wrong thing to do.
My problem is that I like listening to whole albums, in my car while I'm driving. I like to listen to albums in the order in which they were created. Yes Apple. In the past albums were created with a definite planned listening order, and they still are if you avoid listening to the factory boiled plastic pop a la Dustbin Beaver. When I'm driving I don't then want to have to stop to unlock my phone so that I can select the next album - it's not always convenient on the M3 and Mr. Plod takes a very dim view of it anyway.
Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to play albums sequentially on an iPhone 5 using 'Music' or whether I should be better off using a different app for this - please suggest one.

Create a playlist and place the tracks (by album) in the playlist in the order in which you wish to hear them.
Alternately, if you wish to play several albums by a specific artist, the albums are already sorted by date (assuming the track are properly tagged to begin with).
As you suggest, investigate some third party apps to see if any organize in the manner you are seeking. However, I doubt it. While I appreciate the empahasis on albums (I too tend to listen to albums, not play list of assortments of tracks), the scenario you are describing is far from a typical use case for a mobile device music app.

Check out the article below on using AirPlay. The main thing is to swipe up and access Control Center, and then you will see an option for AirPlay. Tap AirPlay and then select Apple TV and you are good to go.

How to play album video on iPhone
I accidently stumbled onto a video of an album I was playig on my iPhone. Once I stopped the album playing, I cannotfigure out how to see the video again. It is an album I bought in iTunes that must have had a video somehow attached to the music. Can anyone tell me how to play the cd so the album video shows up? Somehow I did it from the music app of my iPhone.

TonyThe iPhone works differently because it isn't formatted like a hard drive the way the iPod is (conversely, the iPhone works on both Macs and PCs without the need for reformatting, so there are advantages in this approach).
If you learn to use smart playlists you'll wonder why you ever synced any other way, even for your iPods. Smart lists can do some amazing things. -
I have just been listening to an album on my iphone through the cloud, and noticed that the album was playing in an odd order, and whe I tried to adjust to play the album from the beginning again it still took me to what seemed a random track next, and this happened consistently, seems odd heh? ANy clues?
Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

How do I play all tracks on an album sequentially on iPod nano 6th generation ?
I have an ipod nano 6th generation. I want to play all tracks on an album sequentially (as if I was playing a CD) without having to select each one in turn. On my ipod nano it repeats the same song and wont move to the next one automatically. can anyone help ?
The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen. While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

Just purchased a new album on my iphone. The album shows up in my itunes account but has exclamation points after it and I'm not able to play those songs. How do I fix this?
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library and then download again using the Purchased link in the right-hand column of the iTunes Store home page, or transfer them from the iPhone again.

I just downloaded an album into iTunes, all songs on album play fine on iPad, iPhone, but on my Mac there is one song that stops 10 seconds into it and then moves to my next song. Can I download this song again? How?
Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link. -
I've tried everything I can think of to get my Iphone 4S to play albums like an Ipod does. All it ever does is play the songs but not the albums in alphabetical order. I used to think I was reasonably intelligent until I butted heads with this phone.
Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

Music + loockscreen Bug (no album cover when iPhone is lock and play music)
hello there.
I have just got a weird bug on my iPhone 4, while playing music and the iPhone is lock.
The issue is about what happens when I'm listening to music and my iPhone is lock-screen mode (simply say it is locked).
What is happening is that when I'm trying to check the song name and cover of the album (one click on home button) there is only the title of the song and instead of the album cover there is my lock-screen background picture.
I have tried to delete all the covers in iTunes and add them manualy (because when i click download the covers some of them are in wrong place) but it still apear the same problem.Found another post with a similar issue after upgrading to ios 5 and this worked for him, I might try this tonight and will re-post if it worked for ios 5.1:
1)Connect phone
2)Hightlight your phone on the left side of the iTunes window
3)Click on the music tab towards the top middle of the iTunes window
4)Uncheck "sync music"
5) Click "Apply" down on the bottom right At either this step or the preceding step you might get a
pop up box that says "you have made changes" or something like that, click okay or apply.
6)After this is finished, check to make sure there is no music left on your iPhone by double clicking on your
iPhone in the left hand pane of iTunes and then click on "music" under your iPhone
7)If there is no music on your iPhone, then recheck the "sync music" and then click "apply" down in the
bottom righ.
8)If you have a lot of music it will take hours to sync, but when finished your Dock accesorries should work again. -
How do I remove purchased albums from artist list ios7
In the music app on ios7 under the artist tab, I can now see any artist I've ever downloaded from the iTunes Store. This includes any of the free artists I downloaded such as the free iTunes Gifts during the holiday season. How do I hide artists from the artist tab. Even though I haven't downloaded the track or album to my iphone it still shows as an option to download from the cloud.
Figured it out. It's in settings- music - then turn off Show All Music

I downloaded some albums using my iphone (3GS), I then synced it with my PC. Now all the album artwork has disappeared off my iphone but not off itunes on the PC. How can I get the album artwork back onto my iphone?
I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

How do I get the U2 album off my iphone ?
I have an iphone 4s and itunes on my macbook pro linked to that iphone handset.
I have followed all the instructions provided to get rid of this U2 album off my iphone.
It no longer appears in my itunes on my macbook. I have done everything advised on my iphone but when I go into the album to delete each song - the "left swipe" action does not bring up the red delete button - it just plays the song.
All I could think of (in desperation was to delete my music app and re-sync with my laptop - but of course you can't do that because it comes with the phone.
Please tell me why my left swipe function to delete is not working on this phone ( a relatively new handset) - or just tell me how I can get rid of this terrible album that was not of my choosing.
Shame to Apple for letting this happen in the first place. Now I have to waste my time dealing with it.

Playing albums in a particular order
Hi all:
What is the most efficient way to play albums in a playlist in a particular, user-defined (i.e., not rule-defined) order?Whatever order you place the songs in the playlist in iTunes will be reflected with the playlist on the iPhone after syncing. Select and drag/place the songs in whatever order you want the songs to be in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync.

Sharing my fix for blank album art in iphone
Just wanted to share this. I have had the problem many have had where artwork displays in itunes but shows up as blank in the iphone. The fix (v 3GS) was to in itunes, select all the songs of the affected album, right click to get info. When the dialog appears, check only the art box, cut and paste the artwork in the box. Itunes then rebuilds the songs with the art, and the next sync pushes the changes to the phone.
Also found out that if you accidentally paste the wrong art onto an album in itunes (where you drag and drop the art while a song is playing), you can drop new art over it, but the old art is still displayed. Doing a get info for the song that was playing shows both art images on the art tab and you can delete the one you were trying to get rid of.
Got direction from this forum. Hope this is useful to someone....Although this discussion is a bit old I think it's still worth answering it as google points to this page.
The only reason for the above to happen (Different cover art appearing in horizontal and vertical) I can think of is that Iphone Cover Flow is an Album Art only.
iPhone and iTunes has at least two modes to display your music in that is:
* Song mode - where tune's art is pulled from the file if any exists.
* Album mode - where album art is shared by multiple tunes with the same "ALBUM NAME".
So if many of the songs has no ALBUM NAME at all or share something like Unknown etc. It's is likely that in Cover Flow Mode (Which is Album View) those will have some strange things displayed.
On the other hand I currently have slightly different problem hence my search. My Art is mixed up especially among the podcasts. Totally... I'll try full resync.
BTW. If you got the Art in one way or another but after uploading the tunes to iPhone you don't see it it's likely that you downloaded Art only for one of them and iTunes is showing that one for all that share the album name. If you get the art from iTunes Store then Highlight all tunes that should contain the art and right-click>Get Album Artwork, otherwise Get Info and double-click on the Artwork field on the right-hand side. -
Why do I have to download songs/albums onto my iphone when I have icloud and purchased the songs from itunes? I thought the purpose of purchasing from itunes when you have icloud is that you don't have to download each song/album that you want to hear. I get like 5-10 songs from the last two albums i have downloaded, but not the entire album.
Are you talking about iTunes Match? If so, you don't have to download entire albums, all you have to do is play the songs you want to hear.
If you're asking why you have to download the music at all rather than just playing it from iCloud, the music has to be stored locally on your device, either in permanent or cache memory, in order for your device to play it.

For incoming calls ringtone not working
