Playing any audio while on-line causes pc to reboot -audigy ca

god i hope some has had this problem and fixed it. If im connected to the net and i play an audio file using any type of program including windows media player , or if i recieve sound from the net including emoticions from windows meggenger then my pc will reboot. report says its a driver problem but isnt specific at all. i even had trouble getting on to creative website! Help me please? any sound at all will make it reboot while connected. im currently using dialup. soundblaster audigy with the latest driver, windows xp, AMD Athlon64, Ati Radeon x850xt. I also did a clean install of windows xp, formatted dri've and didnt instally any other software, but iit still crashes. often makes a poping sound just prior to rebooting or occasionally just drops the connection instead. Increase Playback buffers on audio software you're using (set to 000 - 2000) or try ASIO capable player.
Increase PCI Latency for sound card to 64 (you find the tool by searching after "PCI Latency" here on this forum or with google).
Can you list the IRQ state from your PC here.
Use DMA (UDMA) transfer mode with your HD(s).

Here are some troubleshooting steps for not being able to hear sound through your iPhone speakers. I'd pay special attention to steps 8, 9, and 10 in your situation:
Resolution
Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

Welcome to the  discussion forums.
Try going to synching in the sources menu on your tv and selecting 'change itunes library', when it gives you the passcode check itunes to see if the tv is showing up as a new device, if so try entering the pass code. It may be that your tv is seeing itunes as a different library because of a recent upgrade.

I am not able to play any audio from any website that I open in Firefox For example. if I play a song from Youtube in firefox, I cant hear the audio, where as the same song can be played in Chrome/IE.

My Mac freezes trying to play any audio or video...

Last night, I took the hard drives out of an older MacBook and a newer MacBook, and swapped them, which shouldn't be an issue because both are Intel based and everything is compatible. After swapping and turning both Macs on, the older Mac with the hard drive from the newer Mac works perfectly fine, like it should, but the newer Mac with the older drive is having issues. Everything works great, except when I try to play any sort of media. Songs will not play in Preview, iTunes, Safari, or anywhere else. The same occurs with video, freezing to the point where I get the infamous "spinning wheel of death."
Everything was working perfectly fine right before I swapped. I've eliminated RAM possibly being an issue and I don't think it's the video card, as I was able to Preview and iPhoto through RAW photos from a 5DmkII.
So that being said, does anyone have any suggestions?

You do not mention a few significant details. Let's find out a few things.
What models were the two computers? Please be specific such as "MacBook (early 2009)" or "iMac (24" Mid 2007.)"
What operating systems was running on each computer?

HT1689 My IPhone stopped playing any audio except the ringtone. Any ideas?

My IPhone stopped playing audio such as my music or applications with audio. The only sound it makes is the ringtone. I read some blogs where people said to plug in headphones and then unplug them. I tried that and actually had audio a couple of times but then it was gone again. Any ideas?

You could have dust, or a partical in the headphone port that is causing your phone to think there are headphones plugged in. Look into the port and gently blow it out if there is anything in it.

IPad mini will not play ANY audio or video

My daughter's 1st gen iPad mini worked great until about 2 months ago. The symptoms are best expressed in a list:
No audio at all. No music, no game audio, no alarms, no ringtones....nothing.
No video will record or play. Both cameras work and can take pictures but neither can record full motion videos. Slow mo video will record (and play), but I'm assuming that is because it is actually a series of pictures and not a video...No video from the Internet or previously recorded video will play.
Siri can't transcribe, so I'm assuming the microphone doesn't work either.
FaceTime doesn't work.
The oddest part of it is that the Ipad "thinks" it has full functionality. the music files "play" for half a second (no sound) then insta finish and go to the next song, in a turbo silent loop of her music collection. If you hit record on audio or video it will "begin" recording, bit actually not record anything, and in fact freezes up and requires you to leave, then close the app.
Now, we took it to the Apple Store near us and 3 or 4 techs looked at it and all said they've never seen anything like this before. We have tried resetting it and reinstalling it as a new iPad. At the genius bar they plugged it in and did a firmware upgrade and it made no difference.
Did I mention the warranty JUST ran out a month before this...
Any help at all would be appreciated....

Try this:
1. Close all inactive apps. Double-click the Home button and hold apps in the Task Bar down until they all wiggle then tap the minus sign to close apps. Tap the home button to return to Home screen.
2. Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

Can't play any audio cd

Since downloading the latest version of iTunes (7.0.2) yesterday and purchasing music downloads from the online store, I can no longer play or listen to ANY of my own audio cds. Artists and songs are recognized, but if I attempt to import or play a song, everything just freezes. I cannot even eject the disc. Please help.
I notice that you can run an online diagnostic if you're using a Windows PC, but not a Mac. (???)

6.0.2/6.0.3 Crashing when playing any audio file.

Hi Folks,
I've had this problem since 6.0.2 and upgraded to 6.0.3 last night hoping it would fix the issue but it hasn't.
Whenever I try to play a song in my library or playlists iTunes unexpectedly quits.
I have tried deleteing all preferences. Remove all receipts and reinstalled 6.0.1.
6.0.1 doesn't quit, but I've had real issues with synchronisation of my iPod Nano since all this took place. I don't know if these issues are connected. iTunes freezes on certain songs when syncronising the Nano and just hangs there, it won't unfreeze or force quit unless I disconnect the Nano. In manual mode the Nano seems be more reliable but although I can add playlists or tracks, removing them doesn't update the disk space, so effectively if I empty the Nano manually and update it still reports itself as full.
I've tried a couple of disk utilities on both the startup disk and the nano, nothing to report. I've tried resetting the Nano, still no change.
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated. Up until this I'd been using iTunes from it's outset (from before it was even iTunes in fact) without and real problems.

Same problem over here. 6.0.4 still doesn't solve the problem.
Deleted the prefs file com.apple.iTunes.plist. On startup iTunes updates the library file, but crashes halfway through.
Downgraded to 6.0 again, as this is the last working version for me.
I keep reporting to Apple and hope that they will eventually fix the problem (I had the problem with 4.0 as wel if I recall correctly, and with 4.0.1 it had been resolved).

Try the following.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at f10 as soon as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let windows fully load and then check if you now have audio.
If you still have no audio, open windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and open Services. Check that the following services are all showing as Status= Started and Start-up Type= Automatic
Audio Service
Multimedia Class Scheduler
Windows Audio
Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
If you need to make a change to any of the above, just right click the service and select Properties, then in the dropdown box next to 'Start-up type', select Automatic and click Apply to save the change. Then click the Start button.

My FCP Won't Play ANY AUDIO PLEASE HELP! I spent 20 hrs on this!!!

So I'm editing some footage from a trip a friend and I took and (stupid) downloading a piece of crap MPlayer and, before I put in the DVD mind you, save my project. That d*&% Mplayer freezes up on me and after deleting that, I find in ALL of my FCP sequences, NO AUDIO PLAYS. I'm mean nothing. I have probably spent about 20 hours editing so I'm sure you can see my frustration. Also (body after the funeral), I set my autosave on every 10 minutes and it hasn't ever worked. What sould I do? IIIII NNEEEDDD HEEEELLLPPP!!!!

Have you checked the sound pane in System Preferences to make sure the program you loadedd didn't change something? Also check the audio routing in FCP to make sure it's set correctly as well.

When playing any audio the audio quality on my Thunderbolt display steadily worsens over an hour period and becomes garbled. Restarting the media player fixes it. Does not occur when MacBook Pro is undocked.

When playing audio/video on my MacBook Pro docked to Thunderbolt display the audio quality steadily worsens until it is garbled beyond understanding. I don't know if it occurs when using the MacBook undocked. It takes about an hour to become noticeable and steadily worsens. Simultaneously when the computer speaks the time this is also gargled. As the problem develops it sounds like there is a static halo around each spoken word.

ITunes 10.5 won't add to library OR play any audio files prior to update

I recently updated to iTunes 10.5 on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8, and iTunes won't add any of my old music files to the library, regardless of what directory they are in. The permissions on all files and folders of interest are read and write. I've tried directing the library to sevral different places, deleting the library files, etc. etc. Nothing works. Not only this, but iTunes won't even open ANY of the old files when I click on them, even though they all have the iTunes icon. Additionally, when I move the files in the library but don't tell iTunes in preferences, they still play (there are two songs in the library I just downloaded from the store to figure out what's going on). Anyone have any ideas here, this is a mess. Oh, forgot to mention I reinstalled iTunes as well and that didn't resolve any issues. Have tried restarting the computer also. Thanks for any thoughts,

My iTunes won't play ANY audio!

I ust upgraded to 7.5--all of a sudden all the mp3s and the samples and the audio part of videos will not play! My computer still plays them in other players, so I think this is just an iTunes problem. Anyone else experience this?

Just got off the phone with applecare. I reset my PRam and all is well. iTunes works great and Quicktime too!
