Playing content with computer from an ipod without syncing.
Is there a way to watch what's on my ipod on a computer without syncing or 'tranfering purchases'?
N.B.
The ipod is synced with another computer.
Click here, set the iPod to manual, and play the content.

My old computer crashed and I can't sync new songs from my new computer to my IPod without erasing all of the existing content on the IPod. Can new songs be added without erasing?
Yes by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
However, you can make this computer the syncing computer by:
- Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music
- For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
- After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos. -

my iPod was originally connect to an old HP. The HP has since died and now I own a Macbook pro. I want to transfer the music from my iPod (originally synced with the HP) to my Macbook Pro. Is this possible without losing the music on my iPod?
Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

How can I transfer purchased iTunes from my computer to my iPod without losing all the songs I currently have on my iPod? I've already burned the purchased songs onto DVDs, but they still aren't recognized as authorized songs that I can copy onto my iPod. One other note: The songs I purchased were done so with iTune versions much earlier than 10.0, does that matter? I couldn't tell you what version though.
Not sure what you are saying.
What is stopping you from adding the songs?
Are you getting an error message?
What does it say? -

Why doesn't my ipod touch 2 recognize or sync new playlists from my computer? It did in the past, but now the syncing process goes in reverse; the
playlists on the ipod touch 2 sync to my computer! Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Try syncing using the manual method
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
- Backup and then restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
I have lost my previous itunes library content after atempting to sync my ipod. Is there any way that apple can provide me with a history restore for an itunes library?
if you have all the songs still on your ipod you can put them back on your computer from the ipod... just DONT LET ITUNES SYNC WITH YOU IPOD when you plug it back in. change the settings to manual control for syncing ipods or your itunes will delete all of them. i dont know what to do for the unchecked songs... i had a similar situation and i used a mac program to take the songs off of my ipod. hope this helps.. just google for an application that will let ya take songs off the ipod.

I Have a Ipod Classic that all my music is on.
After my previous computer crashed I have not had any of my music able to be transfered to the new computer from the Ipod.
Is there a way to do this?Unfortunately, unless you have a backup and can restore the iTunes library to the new computer, you are stuck with the current state of the iPod. This is one of those things that makes doing backups so important.
Unless your music is all purchased from iTunes (not from your own CD's that you imported into iTunes and then downloaded to the iPod), you will be able to re-download all your iTunes store music back to the iPod when you install iTunes on the new computer. When you first attach the iPod to the new computer and new iTunes the first time it will tell you that this iPod is synced with another iTunes library and let you initialize the iPod (which will erase everything on the iPod - so don't do this unless you don't care about the stuff on the iPod now).
I've seen 3rd party apps in the past that will let you copy music/content from iPod to computer and bypass iTunes, but not sure if they still exist as this was several years ago.
good luck -
Help! How do I charge Ipod without syncing with PC?
Ok I had to do a PC recovery and I lost all my songs again. How can I charge the Ipod without syncing it with the PC?
Also, does anyone know how I can get my songs on my Ipod back onto my PC?
-Thanks in advanceI really hate disconnecting my iPod from my computer, too. So, I have those speakers and it hooks your iPod up to an outlet and it charges your iPod while you're listening or not listening to your music, and its really small, so its great for traveling.
This is what it looks like: http://f3c.yahoofs.com/shopping/3059825/simgt_oi409328.jpg?rm____DR6tkVRT9 -
I feel that other people use my computer from the outside without my permission. How do we know?
Thanks for your helpFirst thing to do is find the information you received on your internet service, which should have the info on logging in to your router itself. Login, usually from a browser like Safari, and find where to change the admin password, not the netowrk or WiFi password. Change the admin password from the factory default, and write it down so you don't forget it...if there is ever a problem with your service you have to have that.
Once the router is secure, on your iMac how do you operate? Did you just set it up out-of-the box without adding user accounts?
With the router secure there is little risk of an intruder using your equipment...but it would be worth it to change your network password, especially the wireless part of the network, and to check to see what security method is being used. The most secure is WPA2. -

We have some 3rd generations iPod touches that are note syncing with the computer we have. The original computer that the ipods was synced to is gone. We downloaded the itunes to the new computer and logged on as the same account and it won't sync the applications we have.
An iPod can pn;y sync wiht one iTunes kibrary and the new computer is a new iTunes library:
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party probgram like one of those dicussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup

Deleting Past Dates from an iCal calendar
I have just imported the date book from my palm (10 years worth). It was a little tricky at first (I had to create a new palm user and then export that file-- not my main file.) But it did import into iCal as an "other" calendar. Here is my question.
