Playing HTML5 video as inline in iPhone webbrowser

Hi,
Is it possible to play HTML5 video as inline in iPhone webbrowser?
Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that this works in Firefox 14.0.1, but not in later versions including the current Nightly build (18.0 a1).

  • Why can't iPod Touch 2nd Generation play html5 video?

I have just upgraded my 2nd iPod Touch's OS 3.1.3 to iOS4, but it can't play html5 video on iPad-ready sites like (http://tv.robbreport.com/). My iPhone 3GS and iPad can play html5 videos on this website smoothly.

I'd like to report further that after changing the wallpaper the iPod Touch has somehow stopped being able to play either video or audio.

I am facing the same problem. Rebooting didn't help. Downgrading though works.

  • Safari version 7.0.6 (9537.78.2) won't play html5 videos. (Mavericks on Macbook Pro)

Since upgrading to Safari version 7.0.6 (9537.78.2), html5 videos will no longer play. (Mavericks on Macbook Pro) I get the error message "Please upgrade your browser to view HTML5 content". The only extension I have is ClickToFlash. When I disable it, I get the error message immediately without having to click on the "Flash" button to give it permission to run.

same thing for me... yesterday i started noticing flakey graphics on video playing, then went shopping on Amazon which kept telling me to upgrade my browser, and when I check the link to safari update, I am greeted with I have the latest version of safari.  I checked my Last Yosemite update... it is current.   I rebooted my computer went to bed, and today, nothing on Yahoo, Abc News, youtube will play when it comes to video.   A conspiracy in the making to take down or disrupt all apple users I am sure must be going on.    I say this because I checked another iMac which has been working flawlessly.   And update to flash came in, I did not perform that update.   Videos worked fine.   That update was done and bam... no video playing on that computer either.
I think Apple should release something immediately and stop anymore flash on mac updates to be installed.   Adobe needs to be notified that what ever they have released is killing all apple users who use safari.
ANYONE READING THIS BE AWARE THAT THE LATEST FLASH UPDATE PROMPT WILL KILL YOUR MAC SAFARI AND VIDEO PLAYING ON SAFARI WILL END.   AMAZON and OTHER SITES WILL TELL YOU YOUR BROWSER IS OUT OF DATE, IGNORE THAT BECAUSE I THINK WHO OR WHAT EVER COMPANY IS BEHIND THIS HAS BEEN WORKING INSIDE WITH THOSE COMPANIES ALTERING CODE SO THAT PEOPLE ARE DRIVEN TO START UPDATING SOFTWARE IN HOPES OF SNAGGING THE UPDATE FROM ADOBE THAT CAUSES THINGS TO CEASE WORKING.
TODAY Both IMACS Running YoSemite will not play video and are both crashing with Graphic Hardware errors... 2 iMacs that are 2 years apart on Manufacture date, and both were working flawlessly this past weekend.

  • Safari 5.1.2 doesn't play HTML5 video

I'm developing a website which uses HTML5 video as a fullscreen background.  At home, I'm developing on a MBP running Snow Leopard.  At work, I'm using Lion with Safari 5.1.2.
Currently, the page displays fine on Safari/Snow Leopard, Chrome/OSX, Firefox/OSX, IE9 (what?!), Chrome/Win and Firefox/Win.
Safari 5.1.2 on Lion and on Windows will NOT play the video and instead defaults to the poster image I have set.
The video has .mp4, .webm and .ogv versions for all the supported browsers.
I have tested this by downgrading my Lion computer to Safari 5.0.5 and the video played perfectly.
Any ideas?  Seems like people are having issues with 5.1.2 and YouTube HTML5 videos also.

    I believe you..

  • How to play YouTube videos in HD on iPhone over cellular?

Does anyone know how to play YouTube videos using the Google YouTube app in HD on the iPhone over cellular? I'm asking because I have an iPhone 5 with a large LTE data plan, which I don't mind using a bit more data for better clearity on the videos. I know in the past people have suggested to use YouTube in the Safari broswer to view videos in HD, but I find it to be non-consistant. Anyone have a better idea how to watch YouTube videos in HD on iPhone/iPad over cellular (3G/LTE)?

Did you use iAD to create the widget?   If  you did...  then there support  group  should have answers.
If you used one of the widgets in iBA  - as you have  had no suggestion for a fix... you will need to contact iBooks support.
The  More Like This column on the right shows links to similar problems.
It would  seem to be  related to  your  use of  You Tube and Vimeo content or maybe its how you  put the  widget content  together.
Have  you search the iBA help files, previous posts and the iBA  tips?

  • Firefox 29 cannot play HTML5 videos

I have been trying to play videos on Vimeo on Firefox, but all I can see is a black screen instead of the video, even though I can hear the audio. This problem occurs with all websitest that host HTML5 videos. I have observed that this problem mainly occurs for videos of the type H.264/MP4.
I have tried disabling all extensions but the problem persists. However, if I choose Restart with Addons Disabled, then the problem gets resolved and I am able to view the Video and hear the sound as well.
I cannot imagine what's wrong. I have Disabled Hardware Acceleration and even Reset Firefox and the problem still persists.
    Please help.

For issues with HTML5 videos, you can try to disable the HTML5 media player by setting a few prefs to false on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    * media.windows-media-foundation.enabled = false
    * media.directshow.enabled = false
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar and you can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue

  • Is there a way to play a video recorded on an iphone 5, on an iPhone 4

I recorded a video on an iphone 5. I transfered it to Aperture. When I tried to sync it to an Iphone 4 it would not transfer. After some digging, I think the problem is that the iphone 4 does not play 1080p video. If that is the reason, is there a way to have aperture or itunes convert the video to the 720p that the iphone 4 can read?

I found out how. Bring it into QuickTime and export to iPhone 4 format.

  • After beta 6 update, cannot play html5 video youtube

i'm in html5 trial in youtube and after the 6.b03, it doens't work anymore
    screenshot: http://cl.ly/1n2j0Q0S3o1s1Y3H1N0G

This is because ICS uses Google Chrome as a browser and Google Chrome does NOT support Flash. You can install a third party app like Dolphin and or Skyfire as well as downloading Flash. After you install these you will be able ot play Flash Videos.

  • How to play HTML5 videos? Please help

So I've used Firefox since ever it came out and now I have problems with playing videos on YouTube because of the HTML5, I currently have Firefox 35.0.1 and I even had 36 but the problem was still there, the only way I found to solve this was to downgrade to 31 since it still uses flash, please help me here, the videos won't play on Firefox but they will play in Internet Explorer.

May be difficult to sort out if you are on the unsupported Firefox 31 I suggest you upgrade *
If you do need to use Firefox 32 a safer method that works in some cases and in this sort of situation is to use the current up to date secure and supported version (Fx 35.0.1 at the moment), but spoof Fx31 by using an add-on to switch the User Agent String. There is even an add-on but for the opposite problem

Firefox 35 works for me playing Youtube HTML5 videos.
    I attach screenshots of

    Click thumbnails for larger image
YouTube has been making changes and may make further changes relating to different Firefox versions and the Flash/HTML options on YouTube. If anything the more likely problem is being offered only HTML and not FlashPlayer.
Another complication, but again the other way round is that due to a series of security patches having been issued recently for FlashPlayer, so users may have old versions of FlashPlayer that Firefox blocks.

More complicated but it is possible to install multiple versions of Firefox, but you should also use separate profiles for each version. It is something you may consider trying if you need to keep a working Firefox 31 for playing You Tube until you sort out Fx35.

'''This''' HTML5 video can played in my chrome and IE9 browser at same computer, but Firefox v8.0.1 can not play.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player.

  • How can I play a video in the background iphone 5s?

    Hello there.
As a Mac user I've got the pleasure to have the experience to do several things at the same time.
One of them has been playing a video in the background I mean in the screen there's a small square that you can move freely and
You can type a message or search on the web for many other things I don't know what to do for that is there anything that I can do?
    Thank you!

Yes, hold down the Shift key while resizing.

  • When playing HTML5 video, VideoObj.currentTime=N fails

    Sample problem is at
    http://132.236.21.62/collt/authoring/currentTime.htm
You will also see a description there, and here it is, too:
A base64-encoded webm video is embedded with the HTML5 VideoObj=document.createElement("video") command, with custom Play, Pause, and Rewind button. Play and Pause work fine. But after the video plays to the end, there is no way to play it again. The Rewind button uses the command VideoObj.currentTime=0.1. This works in FF 15 in Mac OSX as well as in Safari 5, Chrome 21 in Mac OS X and Safari 5, Chrome 21, and IE 9 in Windows. It fails with FF 15.0.1 in Windows. Happens every time. My Windows 7 is 64-bit.

I can confirm that this works in Firefox 14.0.1, but not in later versions including the current Nightly build (18.0 a1).

  • Safari wont play html5 videos. It used to play some videos on safari but now it displays black page with a silver play button within a circle with a line over it

Hey guys please help me out, I use videos on safari for work and at my leisure time.

I'm pretty sure this is a new feature of their site - videos autoplay on modern browsers now.  Download the Google Chrome app and see if the issue persists. My guess is it will and there's nothing you can do. It's not an issue with your phone.

  • Pre Lion iPhone videos show Thumbnail but can't play - new video generates Unsupported Video Format popup, no thumb but will play via quicktime

    This is really frustrating -
Over the last year I have been uploading all of my photos and occasional iPhone video to Aperture 3 (latest version all patches in place).    Aperture would recognize the video, create a thumbnale and otherwise treat it nicely.
Now, since upgrading to Lion I find that though I can "see" the old videos in their folders or projects and the associated Thunbnale, I can't play them - I either get the spinning color wheel and then nothing or Aperture will crash and report an error relating to Quicktime (sorry don't have an error code at the moment).
If I try and export a video I can - but what I get also can't be played by Quicktime - just a black screen.  When I hit Play - the scroll bar moves, but there is no sound or video.
From Final Cut Pro X, I can imoprt this exported video file and see that it appears complete - but FCPX uses it's own playback elements.
If I shoot a new video on my iPhone, I find that I can see the thumbnale in the import option of Aperture when looking at the phone, but once imported I get a Popup telling me that it is an "Unsupported Video Format" - "Do you want to open this video clip with QuickTIme Player?"   If I hit Open then the clip does play, but the thumbnale remains a black square with the warning Exclamation Point.
I have also had some issues with Lion Mail crashing when trying to play a video made on an iPhone and sent to me via email.   Seems more likley to be a Lion / Quicktime issue then an Aperture and Mail issue - but who knows.
I spent 2.5 hours of quality time with the Genius bar this morning.  We reinstalled Lion and after that the suggestion was to trash and re-install Aperture, but that would require my disc and of coruse a trip home.   Mail doesn't seem to still have the issues with iPhone movies that it had - but Aperture is still not happy.
Did as instructed and dragged Aperture 3 to the trash, did the empty trash option, restarted and reinstalled.   Then did a software update to catch the new update for Aperture and it found that.   Interestingly when I did start it up after that it DID NOT ask me for my key - so clearly some elements were left over.
Now upon retstarting Aperture 3 once again I find that I can still see my old movies (their thumbnails show up) but I still can't play them.   The new test movie is there but still generates the popup regarding it being an Unsupported Video Format.
And it's not just my iPhone.   Video sent via email from another iPhone can play as an attachment, or when dragged and dropped to the desktop, but once imported into Aperture is once again proclaimed to be an Unsupported Video Format.
Hoping someone out there knows how to resolve this....

For some reason it just started to work now. Have no idea what didn't work before.
