Playing iTunes without USB drive inserted

I spent months importing songs from my CD collections onto iTunes. When my computer died I was able to get all of my songs off onto a USB drive which I put back onto iTunes on my new computer. NOW, much to my dismay, I cannot play these songs on itunes without the USB drive inserted. PLEASE HELP.

there are 2 ways i have found to rectify your problem one of which should work. 1 insert your usb drive & after the drive is recognized pull up itunes and select import just as if your drive were a recorded disk. (thats the way i did it when someone sent me something on usb drive they mailed to me) or 2 pull up itunes screen then on top of that select computer from bottom left windows screen. it should show you all devices connected to your pc including the usb. double click on the drive, look at what files you want, select any or all files by highlighting them, drag & drop them directly on the itunes screen, and they should also end up in order & in the file for you to use just as if you imported them from an audio disk.

  • HT1660 can iTunes Playlists be exported and played from a USB drive or an SD card in Ford Sync ?

can iTunes Playlists be exported and played from a USB drive or an SD card in Ford Sync ? I've been racking my brain trying to get playlists from itunes onto a flash drive and/or SD card to play in Ford Sync. It seems the playlists are "empty" and not associated with any corresponding music files. Sync responds saying "playlists are empty" ?
The only "work around" I have been able to do is create separate folders on the flash , and name the folders for each corresponding  playlist and copy and paste the appropriate music into the appropriate folders. The limitation being Sync can not recognize folders by voice commands. It recognizes voice commands for playlists, but apparently NOT iTunes playlists ??

My script LocaliseM3U should do something similar in Windows.

  • How can I export a video that will loop indefinitely when played from a usb drive?

how can I export a video that will loop indefinitely when played from a usb drive?

As far as I know, PPro does not have that capability
If you were creating a DVD in Encore, you could put an "end action" on the video timeline to itself... so at the end of the DVD video it would go back to the beginning
I am not aware of any way to do that for a simple file

Where can I download the iTunes64.msi driver. I can't update my current Itunes without this driver. I can't find it on Microsoft's website or Apple's website.

You can't download the individual .msi files, but they can be extracted from the setup.exe files if required.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)

  • How to back up your media in iTunes to usb drive

Does anyone have instruction on saving music library and play lists to USB rather than a CD/DVD? Also, since music has been downloaded from various media it is not all in one file under my music. Do you know how to find it and pull it all together prior to back up? I have been partialy successful, but not all music files ever back up. The steps I have used are as follows: >iTunes>File>Library>Export Library>Select Location (of usb drive). Many music files are left out and it does not pull play lists over.

  • Started iTunes without external drive where library is located

I accidentally started iTunes without my external hard drive turned on (where my library is).
(Now play lists, etc. are gone even if I option-start iTunes and select the external library.) Any way to go back to the way things were ten minutes ago?

The XML file is not required by iTunes but is there for other applications to examine. If this file only is corrupt you can safely delete it letting iTunes rebuild it on the next run. iTunes uses the *iTunes Library.itl* for it's database. If this file is corrupt iTunes may be able to rebuild it from a valild XML version, although some data such as ratings, playcounts etc. may be losts. In general it would be better to restore a recent backup. If you don't actively backup your library files you may still find a recent(ish) copy in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder.
If you elect to rebuild your library from scratch then you can leave the files in their current locations by making sure the option to *Copy files to the iTunes Music folder when adding to the library* is turned off.

  • How to use Boot Camp without USB drive?

    Hi
Trying to install Windows via BootCamp, I came across a real nuisance: where I am, the only way to connect to the Internet is using a dongle. When the dongle is in, there's no way to squeeze another USB plug next to it; hence I can't let BootCamp download support files straight onto a USB drive. Needless to say, if I insert the USB drive, I can't use the Internet...
Is there any way that BootCamp can first download those files elsewhere so that I can then copy them onto the USB drive once the dongle is removed?
In case anyone's wondering, I can't get hold of a USB extension cable either at the moment...
    Many thanks for any suggestions!

use and usb hub they are plentyfull and comes with 2 to 7 and up usb ports

  • Itunes and usb drive

i got a new computer and i want to transfer all my music using a usb drive but once i plug the flash drive into my new computer, i can transfer all that music to itunes, but i can't seem to save it or get it to stay on itunes since when i disconnect that usb flash drive, it obviously can't locate those song files anymore.

Make sure under Advanced tab in iTunes>Preferences, +Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library+ is checked. Good luck!

  • ITunes on USB drive issue with deleting songs

    Hi!
I have my iTunes library on an external USB Drive but I have a big problem when I try to remove songs from iTunes...
When removing songs from iTunes I select the "move to trash" option. The songs appear in my trash but are not deleted from my usb drive... It seems that it simply copies them to the trash but if I browse through the "iTunes Media" folder on the drive, I still find all the songs.
Any ideas? this is a big issue for me since I have to daily add and remove hundreds of songs.
    Thanks!!!

    Have you emptied the trash?

  • Installing from another linux but without USB drive nor CD ROM

    Hello,
    I own a CL56 (laptop) with a dual boot "windows legacy" / "ubuntu hardy" / ...
on the remaining space I'm trying to install Archlinux (for a "trial" boot system )
My clamshell is far too old to boot on USB drive and my CD ROM player just melt last week, so I have to install it from Ubuntu (or windows).
So I installed Unetbootin and ...
    - dlded 2009.08/archlinux-2009.08-netinstall-i686.iso
    on Unetbootin
    - chose (x) diskimage [ISO] /path/to/archlinux-2009.08-netinstall-i686.iso
    - selected Type : HDD, Drive : /
    rebooted and :
Got a kernel panic and a stupid error about a CD ROM not found !
forii, wikis etc. seems to have contradictory advices, that's why I'm going back to the source.
But the real question is not : how to use unetbootin but : how to install archlinux from another distrib (ie ubuntu)

  • Create Recovery Media Windows 8 without USB drive

    Hi,
I recently bought a T530 with Windows 8 pre-installed. I want to create recovery disc(s). However, in the "Create a recovery media" wizard, I don't have the option of selecting DVDs if tick the option "Copy the recovery partition to the media". I have a bunch of DVDs lying around and I would like to use them. Not to mention that I don't intend to buy USB drive just for this purpose.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,

    Hi egrivel,
As stated above, there is no option to create optical recovery media.  You can use a flash drive.  8G 16G I believe, but verify that when running the utility.  Make sure "copy the recovery partition" is checked.

  • Playing iTunes on USB Audio Device

I would like to output all audio from iTunes to a USB audio device I have attached to my Macbook Pro but leave all other audio going to the laptop speakers.
I've looked through iTunes (10) preferences to see if there is an option to select an audio device, but can't find anything.
I have my HiFI plugged into the USB device for playing all my music, but obviously I don't want system sounds etc to play over the HiFi.
Surely there must be a method to tell iTunes what audio output to use.
    Anyone got any recommendations?

    Here's a solution.

  • LR starts every time USB drive inserted

Every time I insert a USB key, LR starts.
In Preferences, File Management, I have selected 'Do Nothing' for 'When a memory card is detected. If I let LR start, it does not try to import any images but it is annoying how it insists on starting every time.
    Any ideas? A bug?
I use XP Pro, and I can replicate the problem on both a laptop and desktop.
    Regards,
    MCV

"You can remove it from the Registry auto run with some utility like msconfig or Autoruns, but it gets added again the next time you start Lightroom....
For definitive removal, you need to go to Lightroom, Edit / Preferences / File Management and in 'When a memory card is detected:' drop down list select 'Do nothing' and Adobe Photo Downloader(apdproxy) will be gone for good."
Been there. Done that. Didn't work. I finally (with the box unchecked), I nuked it out of the registry by putting several bogus characters in the command line for that item. Very naughty of Adobe, making me go into registry for this.

I am having serious issues with iTunes.
I dont know what changed but now i can no longer open itunes. It crashes before it even launches it seems like.
this doesnt happen when i have my external drive (where my music is stored). I have changed my itunes media folder to one on the external. Everything worked fine for weeks before this point.
I cannot open it in safe mode
i have tried downloading itunes and installing but that doesnt seem to work. Do i need to full remove itunes?
I also cannot open quicktime player. it says it is damaged or incomplete and theres no actual quicktime icon for the application just one of the incomplete type (similar to the prohibted sign) symbol of icons. I have tried to reinstall quicktime via the optionals install on my snow leopard disk. but no change
