Playing movie on iphone issue

I transfer a movie onto iphone, start playing and all works well. If I pause for a few minutes and go back to play, only audio comes through and no video. I must restart the movie and both work again. Happens on multiple movies transferred onto ipod

No, there is no way of adding video (or audio) data to an iPhone other than by synicng it with iTunes.
However, if you are using WiFi with your iPhone, you could try streraming video to your iPhone from your home cimputer. Movie cannot be played on this iPhone

When I try to download movies from iTunes on my Windows 7 to my iPhone4 I receive the error message "movie cannot be played on this iPhone". The movies are in the appropriate format. Also, I have noticed that others have had similar problems, several responses to their questions ask you to convert it for iPhone use through the Advanced menu. However, on my iTunes no such menu is avalible. Is there some other way I might be able to convert them?

If you are trying to sync 1080p HD versions. Older devices can not handle this and the best they can deal with is 720p wherease iPhone 4s and iPad 2 and 3 will have no issues.
Right ckick in itunes on the troublesome movie and on the summary page of Get Info it will tell you the type of HD.
I have this situation with my iPhone 4 but my wife has no issues with her iPhone 4s. For some strange reason she refuses to swap - Go figger.
For movies I had purchased from itunes i downloaded the 720p version .
to do this
First in Preferances, Store choose 720p as your preferred download.
Then go to itunes store and under Quick Links select Purchased. Select your movie and click the cloud icon to download.
This will download the new 720p version. You will see no difference in the iTunes section but when you sync the iPhone4 and iPod touch the movies will sync over.
Behind the scenes iTunes stores both versions with slightly different filenames and automatically syncs the right version to your device

You need a CONVERTER, not ADAPTER The setup:

You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet.

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.

Hi Everyone,
hope this message finds you all in time. The recent Apple TV update 5.1 is terrible. Apple knows it is which is why (thankfully for some relentless user -I have no idea who but I believe it was under threat) they have allowed to sign 5.0.2 again which means you can downgrade your Apple TV 2 and 3 to a 5.0.2 version via iTunes. Who knows how long they will keep the window open but I have downgraded my ATV early this morning. I couldn't post this earlier because I was out all day but I am doing it now.
Here's how to do it:
1) Connect your ATV to your computer via a Mini USB (not included with ATV but included with many other electronic devices) - in order for your ATV to appear in iTunes you must FIRST plug the USB cable to your computer and ATV and only THEN plug the power cable.
2) Download your ipsw restore file from Apple.
5.0.2 (ATV 2): AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
5.0.2 (ATV 3): AppleTV3,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
3) In iTunes select yout ATV, hold SHIFT and click on Restore
4) Find and choose the downloaded IPSW file in the Open Dialog Box and hit Next
5) As long as Apple still signs that version the Restore process will begin and will take a few minutes to complete.

I phone is only 3G. 3G is not very good for streaming video even if you got a strong signal. Also I would hope you have unlimited data if you do get in a good signal.

MPG movies, can they play on an iPhone???

I have several movies that are in MPG format. I cannot load these onto my iPhone. Do they have to be in a different format? What formats actually will play on the iPhone. Is there a way to convert mpg files to a compatible format?

If you can load them into itunes, then you can highlight them and click on advanced at the top of itunes.
Then choose convert selection to ipod.
