Are the movies purchased from the iTunes Store and if so were they purchased from the same account as the TV shows.

  • How can I play an HD movie purchased from Itunes  on my TV using HDMI connection?

I would like to know how i can play movies purchased in Itunes on my TV using the HDMI cable?   When I try playing HD movies from Itunes I can't play them.  I get the following error:
"To play in HD, you must have a computer with a built in display or have it connected to a display that supports HDCP".
I used to be able to play them before but not anymore.  Not sure why.  Maybe it's due to the new update.  Is there a fix?
    Thanks,

Ok, best to contact itunes then so they can look into it

    Yes there is.
Go to the iTunes Store on your computer.  Click the "Purchased" link about halfway down on the far right side.  Click the "All" tab on top.  The song is there.  Re-download it.

Yes, if the movie has been downloaded to the iPad, then you can watch it without Wi-Fi.

  • Every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad and the message I get is this: some of the items in the itunes library, including were not copied to the ipad because you are not authorized for them on this computer... help?

For a couple months now, every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad giving me the error: "some of the items in the iTunes library, including were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer". I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
    Thanks.

  • Getting error "cannot open" when playing Videos purchased on itunes.

I'm trying to stream videos from my PC to my iPad 2 using the "Videos" app and i keep getting error "cannot open" on any video that I try to play that I purchased through iTunes. Other videos I added that werent purshased through itunes play fine however. Can anyone help with a solution? My iPad is on 5.0.1 if that helps.

I'm getting this error suddenly. I used to be able to stream purchased movies just fine, and now it simply says, "Cannot open." With movies I ripped from my DVDs, they will play just fine, but movies purchased from iTunes give the error every time.
I know I don't have any odd characters in my name like mikesoderstrom had and I haven't changed any account details since the last time it was working a few weeks ago. The only major change I can think of is upgrading to iTunes 11.
My iTunes account says that both my Mac and my Phone are still authorized. Maybe I should try deauthorizing all anyway, but I'd rather not deal with the hassle of re-authorizing, especially if it didn't work for someone who tried it already.
I have no problems with downloading/updating apps, just with Home Sharing purchased movies.

  • Cant play movies downloaded from Itunes

I have 2 issues.1. I can't play movies downloaded from Itunes. It says that format is not supported. What can I do?2. I bought the WDTV three weeks ago. ABC Iview no longer supports WD products as of July 1. Not happy. Can anyone help?

Page 88 in the User Manual Note: The media player does not support playback of protected premium content such as movies or music from the iTunes® Store, Cinema Now, Movielink ®, Amazon Unbox™, and Vongo® http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/UM/ENG/4779-705123.pdf  You're correct about iView ... (I guess WD can't take the blame for that one) http://iview.abc.net.au/support/announcements oh well, i can still watch it on my PC, Chromecast, PS3 and Tablet and Phone

  • Movies purchased from iTunes-What format?

Does anyone know if movies purchased from iTunes store can be burned to a DVD and played in a DVD player? I'm thinking about buying some but I would like to play them on my 63" TV rather than my puter.

I know I can hook the puter up to my TV but then I also need to hook it up to my surround sound as well which would involve buying a bunch of adapters and cables which is more expense and inconvenience. And I don't have the convenience of the remote control. Seems to me that if I'm going to buy a movie for $15 I should at least be able to burn it to a DVD. I could go to the store and buy for that price or less. I just wanted to buy a movie so I could watch it tonight and I don't want to go anywhere. Besides, a lot of people on the forums have been saying that they can't get their MBP's to play through their TV's. Samsung seems to be the biggest problem and that is what I have. Doesn't give me much reason to buy from iTunes.

  • Movies purchased from iTunes to stream to LG smart TV from NAS via DLNA?

Want to stream HD movies purchased from iTunes and stored on a WD NAS drive on LG smart TV (42LN578V)? Movies have standard iTunes DRM protection and so won't currently play on TV. Why is this not possible?! DRM or iTunes app for TV would offer sufficient protection for copyright holders surely? PC not up to job (so can't 'cast' to TV) and this would be a backwards step anyway. Must 'play' on TV in HD & 5.1. Is this not possible?!

iTunes running on windows laptop by the way. Don't want this to have to be on in order to watch the movies. Can an Apple TV box be an 'authorised device' for use in playing iTunes movies and then stream them directly from NAS?

  • HT2729 itouch 5 will not sync movies purchased from itunes that are in my itunes library.

My new itouch5 will not sync movies purchased from itunes thatsare saved in my itunes library.

    Mike, Hi
Thanks for yoursuggestions. I did see that article, tried correcting the permissions, looked at a few of the other things, but this doesn't make sense. This would only be the second computer that had these purchased songs on them. SO the 5 computer limit should have nothing to do with it.
The weird thing is how the computer tells me that it's not authorized to play the purchased songs and gives me the opportunity to put in either an AOL code or an Apple ID code to authorize this computer to play the song. I do it. I get a message that, congratulations, the computer has been successfully authorized to play the song. But then it simply does not play and when you try to play it it just recycles right back to the original message saying that the computer is not authorized.

  • How do I access my iCloud content? Specifically movies purchased in itunes.

How do I access my iCloud content? Specifically movies purchased in itunes. I have multiple Apple devices, one itunes account, one cloud...purchased upgraded storage. The iCloud page on Apple website states that movies purchased in itumes are automatically transferred to the cloud. I can't find the movies unless I sync my devices via a cord. I am interested in purchasing Apple TV but want to make sure I will be able to access movies purchased.

Movies are not stored in icloud.  They are on the cloud - yes, but what Apple means,  is that you can redownload the movies via the iTunes Store, where all movies are stored (the itunes cloud).

  • I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes.  Before iOS 8, movies played fine.  After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive.  Anyone else have a similar issue?

I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes.  Before iOS 8, movies played fine.  After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive.  Anyone else have a similar issue?

I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view.
