Playing music for others online

I am interested in playing music for others in a chat out of itunes or something of that nature and was wondering how i set up the sound to play directly through the soundcard to increase the sound quality. I have an idea how this is done for pc's but cannot fugure it out for mac. Basically i dont want it to play the music through my interenal speakers and then be picked up by the internal mic and retransmitted. There has to be a simple way to do this. ANy help? I am just using the internal stuff, no fancy speakers or anything. Also any free apps or programs that i can get to play around with sound as well?

Itunes will not play music or other media files suddenly.

Itunes will be playing a file, usually an audio file, then suddenly it will stop playing mid track. When I tell it to continue using the shortcuts, or the controls, or window bar it says it playing but no volume is produced and the track does not actually play as marked in the status bar. No error is reported or crashing. Any suggestions? Only remedy is closing itunes and opeing the application again. Mild annoyance but it shouldn't be happening. My iPhone 4S plays music for 5 seconds on a dock then stops sending audio

Hi. My first time in an Apple Community. My 4S plays music through headphones ok but if I connect it to a dock (Wadia 170i), the music plays for 5 seconds then stops. It's the same whether Spotify, Audible (talking books), BBC iPlayer etc. So whether streamed or stored on the iphone, same result. It's important to note that the iPhone continues to 'play' though the sound no longer seems to be sent through the dock. It could be a dock problem but it's so simple I find that hard to accept since it has no problem with an iPod. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Thanks. Paul

Having a party - How can we play music from other people iPhones using apple tv?

We are having a party and want people to be able to play music from their own iphones/ipods using our apple tv. is this possible?

either mirror the iphone on to your apple tv or when they are logged into your internet via wifi. If they open their Itunes, the airplay button should appear for them. Just make sure they are connected to your network.

Just pair it with your laptop/pc just like any other device. That should be enough and you can use it windows media player

On a MBP won't play the audio for a Vimeo video. It will play audio for other video sites (YouTube, etc.).

I have Adobe Flash enabled. Everything is up to date. Am I missing a plug in?

I get an HTML5 media player to play the file by default.<br />
If I disable this nedia player then I get a Flash player.
On Mac there is currently no support to play MP4 files via the built-in HTML5 media player, so this might interfere and prevent the Flash player from being used.

Purchases of music can be easily transferred from one iTunes library to another, so you can buy tracks via your iTunes Store account and then get them into your husband's iTunes library. How you can do this will depend on your setup and situation. Is he using a separate computer and going to be taking that with him, so you want to load the tracks onto it before he leaves? If that is the case, take a look here:

Once you have the tracks on some removable medium, you can mount that on his computer and then just drag the content to the iTunes window. Make sure that the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is set in the iTunes -> Advanced preferences before you do.
If you don't have access to his computer, you can gift the tracks to him and he can download them himself using his own iTunes Store account:

IPod shuts down after playing music for 1 minute

Whenever I try to listen to music or radio the device shuts down after exactly 1 minute. Can't find a setting to change this. I already did reset all settings, to no avail. Any help? Thanks!

Make sure the headphones are plugged all the way in, meaning no silver from the headphone's plug can still be seen. You shoul hear a sort of clicking noise when inserted the headphones to signal that they have been fully seated.

I have an iphone 4, I want to change the ringtone from the "boring" ringtones that they have, I go to change the ring tones "settings" > "sounds" > "ringtone" it then says "standard" & above that "buy more tones"...well I've bought more tones...so why cant I use them as a ring tone?!!!!

You convert the song you want to use to a ringtone. You can not set a song itself as a ringtone, it must be in a specific format and under a certain length.
Google is your friend.

Time Capsule cables for playing music

With Airport Express, you can have a cable run to your receiver and play music. There doesn't seem to be the same cable port available on the Time Capsule. Is there a converter cable to achieve this?

No. This is not a feature of the Time Capsule and it has no ability to play music.

HT2688 How do I share a playlist of old standards with my fathers ipod touch. He has alzheimer's/dementia and one of the things the doctors have suggested is to play music he would have listened to in younger years.

I am trying to figure out if I can share a playlist of old standards from my itunes library with my father's ipod touch, which we purchased for him a few years ago, without erasing the content that is already on his ipod. The current content was put on it by my sister, who does not currently live near here.
My father has mid/late stage alzheimer's/dementia and one of the things that has been suggested is to play music for him from when he was a younger man.

I just discovered what the Project Loop End marker is for. I am no longer frustrated. And, apparently, it IS a problem to set project durations shorter than about eight seconds. I had no problem setting it to ten. Four and five are problems.
So, for anyone else who wants to end a Motion project on an exact fram: Project Loop End. To me, that sounded like it would go back and play the effect over again, but it doesn't.

My itunes no longer plays music. This is both songs from my library and any songs I select from the itunes store to sample. I can still buy songs and they sync to my ipod but again they will not play on iTunes. I have the latest iMac

Ipod does not play music in play after...

Hello Guys...
I have this problem... In the night I connect my ipod to the computer to charge while I am working, in the morning I browse in the ipod menu but when I play any music file, the screen shows the "play symbolo" but the song does not play, I press "pause" then "play" but not works, after it, I reset the ipod pressing the "menu and center" buttons, after it, works good.
In the day when I dont play music for couple hours and try again, the problem comes again.
The question, any solution?
I have 5th ipod generation, 30G, ipod software 1.2.1, iTunes (last version) 7.1.1.5, windows xp.

ITunes music for non-iTunes players?

hi, i see that this iTunes plus says that you can use the new type of music for other non-iTunes players? Basically I play a video game and that game has it where you can play MP3 files in the game. However it does not support traditional iTunes purchased files because of how they are incoded. Will the new iTunes plus files be able to be played in a regular MP3 player? or be converted so that they can be? buying from iTunes and not able to use the files in other programs besides iTunes is a huge turn off :/

If your player can play 256 kbps bitrate AAC files (which you can find out from the documentation that came with the player) then you will be able to listen to the new iTunes Plus tracks as-is.
If your player can handle AAC tracks but only up to 128 kbps (which is the case with my Blackberry phone, for instance) you can make a copy of the track with a reduced bitrate and listen to that on your player (and use the original higher-bitrate version on your computer or iPod, if you like).
And if your player can only handle mp3 files, you can create a copy in mp3 format that will work just fine.
These conversions to lower bitrate or to mp3 can be done very easily within iTunes.

I LOCKED THE PHONE AT 21% and I was able to play music to 4% which means there is no problem with the battery, this seems to be a programming error.
Earlier suggestion include that the battery has a dead cell but it wouldnt keep playing music for over 2 hours it it had a dead cell.

My issue with IOS 7.1 and higher is my Bluetooth for the phone still works...no problem but the music does not work with bluetooth...I have an Acura TSX 2010...Acura said there are no incidents reported, but me...I just upgraded to IPhone 6 and still no good....as soon as i hit the AUX button it say USB...not bluetooth...ugh
