Playing music through nano and auto stereo, while traveling...nano is set to shuffle, but if vehicle is stopped for more than a few minutes, nano restarts with same song everytime! How do I make it really shuffle the songs
Having trouble with Nano shuffle while traveling. It's connected to my vehicle stereo and set to shuffle. When I stop the vehicle for more than a few minutes, the music resumes with the same song it always starts with. How can I get it to keep shuffling after restarting the vehicle?
Is the iPod actually doing the music playing? If the iPod is connected using a USB port (on the car audio system) and docking cable, the car audio system is doing music playing. The iPod is just acting as a storage device (like a USB flash drive) with song files. So, in that setup, it does not matter whether the iPod is set to shuffle or not, because the car audio system is playing the songs. Any change to how it plays songs would have to be a setting on the car audio system.

Make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for them to look at. It will probably need to be replaced. -
HP 3050 will not stay on the wireless network for more than a few minutes at a time.
My HP DeskJet 3050 J610 is constantly dropping the wireless connection. It won't stay on for more than a few minutes. If I power cycle, it comes right back on, but drops again after a few minutes. It will print fine from a USB. When it drops off, pings time out even though the device shows "ready" in Windows 7, Windows XP and OSX. I've done everything HP suggests - static IP, upgraded firmware, diagnostic tools, etc. I am out of options.
I can hit print right now, printer shows as ready, then I will get a print error. If I go over and power cycle the printer, my document will print - most of the time. It will remain on the network for a few minutes, then stop working. As soon as I power cycle it, I get a few more minutes before it drops. It has always done this from day one.I don't have another wireless network close by that I could test it on. I'm a little isolated. i might be able to work out a time when I could take it by a friend's house, but he's over an hour away.
I have a Win 7 laptop, a Win XP desktop and an old Mac Powerbook as well as an iPod Touch and iPad 3 that use my wireless network without any problems - besides the fact that hardly any of my devices will talk to the other... But that's an OS issue. They all see the network, and the printer after I cycle the power on it.
My wireless router is a Netgear WNR2000. I remember monkeying with the channels when I frist got this printer a few months ago, but I don't remember what all I did. Since I did a firmware update on the router, the channel is now set to Auto. If there's a channel you think I should try, let me know what it is. The printer shows up on the list of devices in the router, but that may be because I have its address reserved for the static IP. Interestingly, the router sees the printer, even though my devices cannot. I did a ping just now while checking that, and got this - which is unusual. Normally they all time out.

Is there a possibility that the printer is going into a standby state and having trouble waking when traffic hits? I don't know if that's possible, just seems like it looking at this. -
Using Yosemite, I an't seem to work for more than a few minutes without being asked for my login password. Keychain wants it, Safari wants it, iCloud wants it..the list goes on. Then in 10 minutes or so, they all want it again. Passwords are being stored by Safari as usual, but new tabs or pages bring up the request. How can I turn this off and still have protection?
Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
3. Click the "First Aid" tab
4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
5. Close the Preferences window
6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
7. Enter your username and password
8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:

2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
"New Keychain"
7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.

My iPhone5 network connection has been terrible for the past week and a half. My phone is no more than a year old so I don't see why it would be a problem with the phone. When I try to use the internet or look for apps or anything like that, anything that uses data really, it takes FOREVER if it even loads! Most of the time it won't even load. My network changes from LTE(which doesn't work well) to 3G(which works even less) and then to 1x(which basically doesn't work at all). This happens dozens of times a day. It's getting quite irritating. I've tried turning my phone off and letting it sit for a while and that does nothing. I'd really prefer NOT to restore my phone. What is the deal??!
Are you broadcasting your SSID? Sometimes this can cause a problem connecting. Is this Cisco router running any turbo modes or special preparatory protocols.
There are no know issues with Wi-Fi connectivity except on first connection; and the chance of 2 devices having the exact same issue is very unlikely. This sounds like something to do with your wireless router.
Have you tried to connect to another Wi-Fi hotspot elsewhere?
Do you have any 2.4 GHz wireless phones or security system that could interfere with connection? -
I had no serious problems with Firefox until downloading the current version. Since then I've had frequent crashes, usually several times a day, and even with CTL + ALT + Delete I have difficulty closing Firefox down. The crashes happen more frequently when I leave the program idle for, say, 15 minutes or more or when I attempt to open a contact for editing by directly clicking on the contact name, without checking the box first.
My anti-virus software is ESET-NOD.I get this on firefox. I get this on waterfox. I get this on nightly. I don't get it on chrome. I don't get it on internet explorer. I don't get it on comodo dragon. I don't get it on arora. I don't get it on konqueror...... Anyone noticing a pattern here?
I'm willing to admit that it's probably something to do with my isp server, so Mozilla can feel holier than thou about it, but if that's the way they insist on going, I suggest that the next time they upgrade, they call their browser Canute. -
I recently got a new car and it has an AUX port, i connected my Iphone 3gs and chnaged setting on stereo to aux. however nothing plays when i go to music on phone. I connected my Friends iphone and ipod and they play no problem. Can anyone let me knowif there is a setting i need to change on my iphone?
Maybe you have activated the random playlist. In your PC, check if the shuffle button of iTunes is activated; if it's activated, deactivate it. In this photo, it's the blue button:

This is a recent problem. It was working fine until a couple of weeks ago. If I restart the computer, Firefox gets online with no problem. However, having to do this every time I walk away from my desk is becoming annoying....Is there a way for me to fix this? your solution to my question was both helpful and not helpful it was very helpful on my computer which is a windows 7 it allowed me make some adjustment although i am for the most part really good about shutting mine down after i use it there are times that i do leave it on planning getting back to it forgetting or get caught in something else

since posting my question i have gone through any section of help n support on that computer that pertains to it. i have also been into the microsoft support site to try and configure auto logoff n auto poweroff if computer is idle for a while but when i tried to find the files on that computer they said i needed to access to set it up don't exist and of course way at the bottom of the page is operating system this applies to and you click on it and it states for xp professional only and that the support for the xp home in this matter is no longer available on their site -

Did you ever back up your phone on the computer?
Did you use photo stream at all?
May I suggest changing your passcode lock to a letters and numbers lock (if not all ready it will make your iphone more secure and a restore lock otion shouldent be needed). Then change your setting as well preventing restore after ten incorect passwords.

Internet sharing is turned "on" and appears to be working, but really isn't. Locking the screen, restarting, or a hard reboot helps, but it is extremely aggravating not to be able to maintain a connection for more than a few hours at a time!

Also, I know that we've set the expectation that the device will remain connected as long as a demand for signal flows through it, but that may not be entirely the case. After a period of constant use, any device (including the Lumia 822) may require or force itself to stop.
You've mentioned that the device will freeze after a few hours usage. Is the device also connected to the charger while being used as a hotspot? If so, do you notice the device getting warmer than it normally would be?

Can someone please share what is the pros and Cons of trusting AD domain for more than 10 different AD sites into my existing single domain forest let say ParentCompany.com ?
At the moment I only have one single forest AD domain with the Domain and Forest functionality Windows Server 2003. The main domain controller FSMO role holder is in the Data Center spread across three different VMs running on Windows Server 2008 R2.
The main/parent company has acquired smaller business chain of 15+ offices in which they have their own Domain Controller and also their own domain, sometimes they also got the same AD domain between them (no trust or whatsoever in those 15+ AD domain).
Sounds crazy but yes, there is no standardization in them or whoever manage their IT infrastructure previously.
I'm now considering what are the benefits of creating the AD domain and trust versus importing those AD objects into my domain and then decommission them.
No need to worry about Exchange Server since all of the user in those sites connecting to the RDS to my ParentCompany.com terminal servers.
My requirements or goal are as follows:
1. Simplify the AD domain structure & maintenance
2. Try to avoid the disruptions of the user in terms of downtime and selecting multiple different domain everytime they login to their PC or SharePoint sites.
any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I think you mean 10 AD domains.
Managing multiple domains can be difficult for administration. I usually recommend using a single domain in a single forest with OUs to separate resources whenever it is possible.
However, if you can't do that then you can simply create trust relationships between your domains. The advantage is that you can enable access to resources to different domains. I do not see cons here.

I would recommend consolidating your domains into a single one. ADMT is a migration tool that you can use. The advantage would be the ease of administration. Also, by having multiple DCs for the same domain across sites, you will take benefit of High Availability
of your and DRP.

IPhone 4 stops playing music through AUX and/or Bluetooth
I recently updated to 5.1.1 and my phone will stop playing music through the headphone/AUX jack. Pulling out the cord and plugging it back in reinitiates the music, but it will stop soon afterwards again. The song is still playing (becauseplay icon still up). Thought it was a problem with the cord, but other iPhones (not updated--friends phones) work just fine for long periods with no interruption.
I checked out the headphone jack looking for lint or debris and did not find any, so I did a restore. After restore of phone same problem, random cutting out using the headphone jack.
This morning it is doing the same cutting out while playing music with my Bluetooth Bose speaker... so I tested it with my physical stereo system dock, again, music cuts out...
What is going on with my phone?
(Keep in mind that I've tested all my music devices--Bluetooth speaker, physical stereo dock, and car aux jack/cord with other NON-updated iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with no problems like the one I am having.)
Thank you.I can confirm that I have exactly the same issue - music cuts out when using headphones. Sometimes it goes from play to stop and I can click play to start it again. Other times it stops (but is still playing) and I have to unplug and plug the headphone jack in again. Seemed tgo start after turnign on iTunes Match - Although the songs that stop are not in the cloud - they are on my phone. I have disabled itunes match to see if that will help and will report back...

I have tried downloading the update for Firefox 3 times, but had to go to bed before it was finiahed....seemed to be more than 45 minutes is this normal? How long should it take?

Problems playing music through my pioneer car stereo
I have an iPhone 3GS with the os4 software update and ever since I have updated the software the iPod function has had problems playin playlists when connected to my in car stereo. I connect the phone through the port at the bottom and the stereo takes control, once I have picked my song and let it play after 3 or so songs the iPod crashes and the stereo reads error n/a USB device.

And just when I thought I got them all figured out I plugged my iphone 3gs into my truck stereo only to have nothing happen. I have a kenwood ixa w404 which only uses the USB to play external music. I cant get any music to work from my iphone, but my wifes ipod works fine. Please let me know if you figure anything out. Please help!!
