Trying to play playlist on Apple TV. It worked at one time, but not now. Home sharing is on, on the computer; but apple TV keeps asking me to turn home sharing on.
What gives?

You can't import media from one Home Sharing library to another by any other means except selecting the individual items you want to import. For example, you can't select a playlist and then click on the 'Import' button to import all the items in that playlist. You have to select all the items in the playlist before you can click on the 'Import' button. By extension, the playlist on the other Home Sharing computer will not be re-created on your computer. You can select more than one item using the 'Shift' or 'Command' keys.
What you can do is create a playlist on your computer first, with the same name if you want, and then use drag and drop to copy the media from the remote playlist to your playlist. Note that the playlist on your computer cannot be a 'Smart' playlist it must be a regular playlist for drag and drop copying to work.
Regarding 'Smart' playlists. If you create a 'Smart' playlist on your computer that uses the exact same filtres as the ones on the remote library when you import the media from the remote library they will show up in the same 'Smart' playlist on your computer.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Running a MacBook Pro and a Windows XP PC. Both find the Apple TV no problem, so pretty sure there is no network or firewall problem. But they won't see each other in Home Sharing? My computer crashed and it has been restored. I am running Windows XP and I did not re-install Firefox Aurora after the computer was restored with new motherboard and HDs. There are reports of similar behavour but generally it is due to battery connections. Is the indicator light working steadily or does it blink or even not function. Here is the Apple document dealing with some of the problems.

Is your machine within the guarantee period or under Apple care. If so, return it to any apple retailer for examination and possible replacement.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing on your iPhone. It sounds like you are not noticing transparency on your iPhone. It may be that you have "Increase Contrast" turned on in your iPhone settings.
I recommend verifying that Increase Contrast is turned off in Settings>General>Accessibility.

I tried Notpod but can't get it to work. Part of the problem, I suspect, is that I can't create a folder on my player (a SanDisk Clip+). I also can't do this in Windows Explorer. Whilst I can see the Clip+ in Explorer, the option to create a new folder isn't there.
The error mesag I get in Notpod is:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close immediately.
InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelctedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex"
Then, when I plug the Clip+ into a USB port, iTunes thinks it is my iPad - which is because, I guess, Notpod hasn't worked.
I can drag and drop files from the Music folder where my iTunes tracks are stored onto the Clip+ and they get converted but I'd rather synchronise a Playlist from iTunes if I can.

Disable any security software on the computer.
Reboot the computer and the Apple TV.

Up next doesn't seem to work properly with multiple speakers over airplay. The status bar on the computer shows the song playing, but not over airplay. When I restart the song it plays, but the same thing happens when the next song cues up. Any ideas?

If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. Winston is right. If it seems OK though, I would also add that you should make sure to check it at the same day and time you have tried to download the movie. I had the same thing happen to me and it turned out my speed was fine much of the time but was dropping to like a few hundred kbps from about 7-11 evenings (typically when we were trying to order a movie).
