Playing previously purchased iTunes movies on iPad?

Hi, I have previously purchased movies on iTunes using my iMac. I have synced them to my new iPad. I can play the music I synced by pressing "iPod", and the tv shows by pressing "videos". I just can't find where the movies have synced to? My imac assures me they're synced. How do I play them? Do I need to download another app?
Thanks!!!!!

Thankyou all! I had done all of that but I hadn't restarted both iMac and iPad. I restarted and it came up as not having sync movies checked. Don't know why but this time the sync worked. I feel like such a moron. Restarting is such a pc fix that I've got out of the habit!

  • HT204370 Watching purchased iTunes movies from iPad on iMac?

I purchased a movie through iTunes on my iPad (4th generation). Can I watch the movie on my iMac (OS X 10.9.4) too? If so How?

Depending upon what country that you are in (and if the film is still in the store) then you might be able to redownload it on your Mac's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage. If not then connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy it over.

  • I can't play my purchased iTunes on my iPad?

I live in China.  My home Mac is in the USA.  I've purchased many iTunes in the last year.  My problem started when I loaded iTunes on my PC that I have in China so I can home share with my Apple TV.  I also purchased iCloud.  I uploaded all my songs from my ipad to the cloud and then downloaded to my PC.  Now I can no longer play music on my ipad.  I can see the but it scrolls to the next available song.  But now I don't have very many left.  I thought maybe it was because of songs on too many devices (iMac in USA, iPad in China, and PC in China).  I deleted the downloads on my PC because I really want them on the Ipad. Don't know what to do. I'm hesitant to make any more purchases on iTunes.

To expand on what Templeton says (because I had the same problem and the solution wasn't terribly intuitive for me) make sure that on your iPad you're signed into the iTunes store with your iTunes ID, NOT your MobileMe/iCloud/Apple ID.
In addition to accessing this sign in in Settings, you can also sign in at the bottom of the iTunes store page.
In a better world, I wouldn't have two IDs, one for Apple and iCloud and one for iTunes, but alas, that is not this world.

  • HT201272 How can i recover my purchased itunes movies on ipad?

I have deleted purchased movies from my ipad. How can ik recover these movies?

If you are in a country where films can be re-downloaded and they aren't from studios that don't allow it and the films are still in the store then they should appear in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app. If they don't then have you got copies of them on your computer and/or on a backup that you could resync to the iPad ? If not then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download (assuming that they are still in the store) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • HT201272 All my previously purchased iTunes Music will not play on my iPhone 5. I am really frustrated! If anyone knows how to help, please do so :)

I cannot play any of my previously purchased iTunes songs/albums on my iPhone 5. The songs are listed as downloaded, but when I go to play them, the 'play' screen appears for about 2 seconds, and then disappears. I have followed all the steps I can find online. My phone is syncing with iCloud these days. Please help if you can!

    Welcome to the forums.
This hasn't yet been reported but the fact that it's only songs you purchased that plays is suspicious. What is the format of the other music? (Go into iTunes and select one and press Ctrl-I and report on what it says there).

I cannot find a way to authorize my new computer to play previously purchased music from itunes.  The directions say to click on STORE menu, but I don't see that option.

Go to the Store menu item on the menu bar, and choose Authorize This Computer, as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help), first enable it by using CTRL+B.

  • ITunes said I have to "authorize" my new computer in order to play previously purchased music, how do I do that?

I have a new iMac, when I tried to play previously purchased music on iTunes I was told that I have to "authorize" the new computer, how do I do that?

    Authorization
iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

  • Help! I just got a new MacBook and I cannot figure out how to authorize it to play my purchased iTunes music.

    Hi!
I just got my new Macbook today (!!!) and I love it, but I can't figure out how to authorize this computer to play my purchased itunes music. I don't have any other computers authorized to play my purchased music, as I have de-authorized my previous computer. How do I authorize this new one? I know the FAQ section says to go to Store > Authorize computer, but I can't seem to find where this is located? I've never owned a Mac before.

Silly me... I didn't realize that the top of the screen changes as you change windows (unlike windows computers). Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it!

Can I play my purchased iTunes TV shows on my Sony TV?

You need an AppleTV connected to the TV via HDMI to do so unless you want to connect a Mac/PC running itunes, iPhone or iPad to the TV.

  • I can't play the downloaded iTunes movie on my newly updated iMac to OS X Maverick. Why not? And How can I get it to work? Thanks.

I can't play the downloaded iTunes movie on my newly updated iMac to OS X Maverick. Why not? And How can I get it to work? Thanks.

Do you get any error message?
What actually happens when you open it?
What app are you trying to play the files inside? Try iTunes.
I assume these files have DRM from the iTunes store. The Mac needs to be authorized to play them, open iTunes & select Authorize in the store menu, then sign in with the Apple ID that purchased the files.
Select the iTem in iTunes & get info on it (from the File menu) & you can see the account name that it belongs to.

  • Purchased iTunes movies stop after 10 to 15 minutes.

Purchased iTune movies stop playing after 10 minutes and have to be restarted.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Upload previously purchased itunes on new computer

I just purchased a new macbook pro this evening and was wondering if it was possible for me to upload all of my previously purchased itunes songs onto this computer without having to use an ipod or an external hard drive. I read somewhere that you had to request a special transfer on apple.com? Is this true?

No, this is not true. You get ONE download. It is your responsibility to backup your own music, and to move it where you want it.
You can use your backup copy to do this, home share ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819 ), migration assistant ( if your old computer is a mac.

  • How can I put my recently purchased iTunes movies on to my thumb drive and WD My Passport external hard drive. My Mac keeps saying "can't be copy because it is too large for the volumes format

How can I put my recently purchased iTunes movies onto my thumb drive and WD my passport external hard drive. My Mac is saying that can't be copied because it is too large for volumes format

[file] is too large for the volumes format
That is usually an indication that the Volume was never Erased or Partitioned for GUID partition table and Mac OS, and is still in a Windows format.
Mac OS X Extended (journaled) has no such file-size limitations

  • Delete Purchased iTunes Movies and TV programs

I have purchased itunes movies and TV programs that I want to delete from itunes permanently.  They were deleted until I purchased Apple TV.

    Hello filburt,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. The 2nd and 3rd generations of Apple TV do not have traditional storage. What you are seeing is the purchase history and it will stream from iTunes when you want to watch. It isn’t taking up space on your Apple TV
