Playing radio app through external speaker

besides playing music through ipod function can i play internet radio from an app such as iheart through an external speaker..was thinking of the altec lansing612 but would appreciate suggestions for best sounding speaker for iphone 3g..thanks

Easy. If you're going to buy a new car stereo, just make sure you get one that not only supports Bluetooth, but also Bluetooth A2DP streaming audio. This way, you will be able to stream all audio from your iPhone (calls, iPod, and any/all audio from apps). This will work in basically the same way as your current external bluetooth speaker, but will play through the car's speakers.

  • How do I play Apple TV through auxiliary speaker system?

Please help. I am trying to use my Apple TV to play movies with the sound instead of going through the TV through a speaker system. The only Input for the speaker is a Female Auxiliary. I do not have an Auxiliary Output with my TV. Is it possible to run the audio through my AirTunes Express Auxiliary? That is how I play music through my computer into the speakers. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

The Apple TV outputs a digital signal over an optical cable, you would need to convert this to an analog signal for your sound system. You can do this with a DAC (Example Only -Not a recommendation or suggestion that this is suitable in your circumstances).

  • MBP only playing out of 1 external speaker

I have a logitech z-2300 set up on my mbp and as of today, music only plays out of the left speaker, however when I put pressure on the stereo input plug it will play out of both. Speakers have been fine for 2 months, I have to arrange the cord so its snug around a corner to constantly play out of both speakers.
Is my stereo output plug messed up?

Sounds like a headphone jack connection problem to me. You could have it repaired: http://www.iresq.com or Google for other 3rd party repair sites.

  • Play other apps through car stereo like pandora an aol music

With the increasing number of music apps other than the ipod I'm looking for a way to play those through my car stereo. I have an 06 VW Jetta that has a built in ipod player, when I plug it in it goes directly to the ipod and only plays ipod if I'm in another app switch to another one it always goes back to the ipod. I would like to play pandora or aol music or flycast any of them throuigh the car stereo and I wanted to know if anyone knows a product that can allow me to do that. Or how I can do that now. I have the cassette player through the headphone jack but my car doesn't have a cassette player. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apple has an accesory that transmits from your phone to any stereo/radio via the FM band...just pick an unused spot on the dial.

  • Play iPod classic through external Yamaha amplifier

We frequently hooked up our 13-month old 120GB classic to a Yamaha AVR RXV3000 via mini/phono cable to boost playback volume. A few days ago, the LCD went out of commission (backlit display, zero on-screen navigation, failed 5Rs - no damage otherwise to the unit). The iPod is currently being repaired by a 3rd party vendor, but they are unable to provide a specific cause for the breakdown.
Best guesstimates, how would you rank order the most probable causes of a failed LCD display (impact or dropping, power surge, faulty part, . . .)?

I have to consider the 13 month of usage in this. That LCD screen should last at least three times that or more under normal conditions. Now, here are my rankings:
    1. Overexposure to heat
    2. Defective component
    3. Impact and Trauma to screen (This usually cracks the screen)
    4. Exposure to moisture
    5. Power surge

  • How can I play my ipad through my TEAC speaker

I have a 2/3 year old single TEAC speaker with no airplay functionality. How can I play my ipad through this speaker, preferably without wires
    Thanks

If you're just looking to play audio, the easiest way is to buy an AirPort Express and connect your stereo to the miniplug jack, then play using AirPlay. That's how I do it! And as an added bonus, it can extend your wireless network.

An AppleTV would work too, if you're also looking to stream video.

  • Removing IOS 5 and reverting to ios 4 (iphone 4) - as it will not allow me to download apps or stream music on radio apps.

    HI
i updated to ios 5 today on my iphone 4 much to my dismay it cant stream radio apps i paid for anymore because it somehow HOGS the internet, but yet when i tried to play one of the multiplayer adventure games it is fine.  i dont know if its an INDIVIDUAL app issue whereby i have to enable or disable something or something within the settings to do with the itnernet i need to change?
i cant even download apps on my iphone either it gives an error reading something along the lines of my internet; i connect at home with wifi and successfully stream music radio apps through my home speaker system; or i did do so before updating to this TRASH!. so i'm sure you can understand why i now ask to remove ios5 otherwise there is no point in me keeping the iphone, i have one year left on my mobile contract with orange to pay for.
i need to perform a downgrade, i have ONE back up from july which would be the ios4 version if i restore it using this back up file in itunes, would it definately remove the ios 5 and put the ios4 backon my iphone ?
    Lorrie

    You can NOT downgrade iOS.
That said, millions people have updated to iOS 5 without experiencing the problems you report. Why don't you try some basic troubleshooting before you resort to drastic measures.
Restoring from your backup will NOT revert the phone to iOS 4.
First, try to reset all settings. This will re-set the network settings and clear any personalization (wallpaper, custom assigned ringtones, etc.) but you will not lose any data.
Then, try a simple re-set. If that doesn't work, try restoring from your last backup. If that doesn't work, Erase all content and settings and set it up as a new device.  It's possible one or more of the apps you are trying to use

  • When receiving phone calls, the background apps play through the speaker making it impossible to hear the person on the other line. How do i fix this? This started happening on my iphone 4 and now i have the same problem with my iphone 4s.

I once had a phone call in the middle of a trip. I was listening to my music and phone rang. It was work calling. I answered the phone and the music continued to play. I had to tell the person to hold, then i had to use multitask to find the app and manually turn it off. Once that was done, i retrurned to the phone call to find out that when i receive an email it too plays through the speaker while i am on the phone. Why wouldn't it mute these things while i am making a phone call? Is there a setting for this? It seems to me that this only happened since IOS 5, but i can't be 100%. What i am 100% on is the fact that it happened on my Iphone 4 and is now happening on my Iphone 4s.

The music continued to play with the iPod?
If so, when a call is received while listening to music with the iPod, when the call is answered the music should be paused. When ending the call, the music starts playing again from where is was paused.
There is no automatic mute with notifications for received email or messages while on a call and there is no setting for this.

  • My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked.  It only plays through it's internal speaker.  All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc).  How do I fix this?

My iPod Touch will not play through external speakers when it is docked.  It only plays through it's internal speaker.  All the other functions on the iPod can be controlled by the external speakers (volume, track, etc).  How do I fix this?

    I would try in oreder:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • My wireless earbuds work just fine, but some third-party apps play audio only through the iPod speaker even though the buds are properly connected.

My wireless earbuds work just fine, but some third-party apps play audio only through the iPod and iPhone speaker even though the buds are properly connected. Does anyone know why and is there a solution?

Assuming you are using Bluetooth headphones, do the apps have the option to use Bluetooth?
The app should have an option to select the speaker (or wired earphones) or the Bluetooth headphones.
    You can also try:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store
Contact the developer/go to their support site if only one app.
    Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    Restore to factory settings/new iPod

  • Games, incoming calls, texts and reminders don't play through the speaker

Have had my 4 a week and it's been perfect until today because none of the above play through my speaker, therefore I can't hear incoming calls, texts or reminders - or play games without wearing earphones. But when on a call, I can switch to speaker and it works - I just can't hear it ring.
All other apps play perfectly through the speaker as well as earphones, iPod, you tube, radio stations, etc.
    Nothing's changed in the settings.
Have tried the usual; blowing into the jack hole and plugging/unplugging really quickly.
The fact that some things do play via the speaker tells me it mustn't be hardware related (and that the phone isn't confused about whether or not the earphones are plugged in).
Has anyone else had this? Is there a fix?
Am going to call CPW to at least notify them in case it has to be replaced. But if I was to do a factory reset, would I just have to sync everything back via iTunes and then set up my email etc?
Would a visit to an Apple bar be a good idea? Am based in SE England and both bars are 90 mins away.
    Thanks

Doh - I never realised there was a mute switch! Everything now back to normal and all is good in the world again.
I'm sending you a virtual pint! Thanks.

  • Shoutcast radio app stops playing

Shoutcast Radio app, after playing for approximately 30 mins starts stuttering, then stops completely and closes retuning to the app icon.  This happens moreso when I have the original ipod charging base (can connect to a receiver through the base's phone plug via RCA adpter cable); when in my Yamaha ipod speaker system it seems to play longer, but even then it routinely crashes.  Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks for the info!  I will try to uninstall and reinstall the app to see if that makes a difference as I have the latest OS, the SHOUTcast app is the latest and I've performed the turn-off/on attempt to fix.

  • BB will no longer play music through external headset or external speakers

Suddenly I found I was no longer able to play music through any external speaker or headset on my BB Torch. No one seems to be able to solve problem. BB Replaced but same problem. Complete factory reset solves problem but as soon as anything is restored, problem returns. Interestingly, if I make a call the headset works fine. If I play music, go to menu and try to 'activate headset' I get new window with headset and red dot on it. Coupled with this problem I notice if I go to 'set-up' and select 'email accounts' it will not open. I have had to activate all my accounts via my laptop. Anyone any ideas!

I have the same problem. Just started yesterday.  I have owned two blackberry's and i'm beginning to think that they are a bet overrated.

You can use a simple little App called LineIn to Pass Thru Audio from Input to Output.
