Playing the Cover Art Showing

So I just upgraded to a Classic, and now there's always Cover Art flying around on the screen. Is there any shortcut to begin playing the song that goes with the cover art that's currently being displayed, or do I have to drill through the menus?

Unfortunately, covert art is just there for added looks and there is no way to go directly to that song. Maybe some day that will change. If you would like to suggest this to Apple you can do so through the page below. Hope this helps.

Why isn't my cover art showing up when i download purchased music to my ipod touch?

sadly when i buy music from the itunes store the cover art shows up but then when i download it to my ipod touch 4 generation it doesnt show up. i have the newest version of itunes. some one help, the cover art is easier for my brother to detect songs.

If by cover art, you mean Cover Flow, then ensure that potrait orientation is not locked by bringing in the multi-tasking bar (Double clicking the home button), swiping to the right and make sure that there is no lock icon!
Then you can rotate your iPod and see your music in Cover Flow!

When I download a movie from iTunes the cover art disappears. I try get info and add the art, it doesn't show up. So it's just gray. It opens and plays fine. Apple can't figure it out. It's an nas drive. When I use a firewire drive I get the art

When I download movies from iTunes to my NAS drive, I don't get the cover art. It shows up while its downloading, but when it's finish it disappears. If it has an iTunes extra the cover art is there. I tried get info and add the cover art, it never shows. Regardless of how I add it. Funny thing is, if I download the same movie to my external firewire drive, no problem its there. I've called Apple with no success. I've even tried copying the movie with the art from the firewire drive to replace the file on then NAS drive I still loose the movie cover art. I also tried several times to re download it, no luck. Any ideas? I'm out of ideas.

In iTunes if you right click on the video and select Get Info and go to the Option tap what Media Type is shown?

That moves only the iTunes media, not the iTunes library (which is really kinda nebulous).
iTunes library = iTunes folder and all the media, wherever it is located.
The /Music/iTunes/ folder contains the iTunes library.itl file, which keeps track of everything in iTunes.
I do however still have the original MAIN startup drive still in the computer, it's just not the startup.
This is good you still have it.
Try this...
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the /iTunes/ folder on the original drive. It should be in /Users/your_user_name/Music/.
Don't mess with anything. We can get it cleared up.
Does everything work okay?

How to show the cover art in the sidebar?

Hej!
I just updated iTunes to the latest version and wanted to make it look like before and already managed to enable the side and status bar.
Now to my problem: I just can't find out how to show the cover art of the selected/playing song in the sidebar...
If they didn't remove this option, please let me know how to enable it.

I was able to somehow pull the single tool column down and get it to show as a double column. I am not sure as to exactly how I did this, but I did get the double column tool box and so far it has remained. There is some gray column overlap at the bottom of the screen.

My Podcast Just Became Searchable But The Cover Art Is Not Showing

My podcast just became searchable in the itunes store. I knew it took a few days but the cover art is not showing yet.
Is this a process that just takes more time as well? When I subscribe to it the artwork shows up but it's not showing up in the store..

The image is correctly referenced in the feed: it can take several days before the image appears in the Store, so it's just a question of waiting.

Cover art shows on the podcast page but not in search

Ever have this happen? When you search for my podcast by keywords, the podcast appears in the list, but without the cover art. Great, that explains it. We had moved the image to a new URL and actually updated the original feed that we input into Feedburner with that URL ... but we also had Feedburner Smartcast turned on which creates its own iTunes tags and overrides any that may already be in the feed, and the image URL in Smartcast there was the old one.
In any case, we not only updated Feedcast Smartcast with the correct image URL, but we also put a copy of the image at the old URL so that even the URL presently used by iTunes should work.
Any idea how long it takes for the store to update the cover art? Anything we can do to expedite it?

Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. Then log in using a different ID.

Why is it that I upload The Wall into my iTunes and the cover art is never recognizable?

Seriously! I'm anal about having cover art...and there is no longer the option to upload an internet photo. What do I do? I even try calling it other album names and it refuses to recognize any Pink Floyd.

Find the cover art for The Wall on a website. Right-click the track, Get Info, and open the Artwork tab. Drag the art from the web page to the space on the Artwork tab. When you are done, click OK.

After I add a cd to my library the cover art does not come up haw do I add it?

After I import a CD into my music library the cover art does not appear, and when I try to add the cover art it says that it is not available, when look it up I can locate the cover art but it will not import. How do I get the album cover art?

Have you tried Settings>Privacy>Location Services and see if you can turn it on in there?
Obviously it has to be an app that works with location services so if it is and nothing else works, delete the app and download it again to make it ask again if you want to allow your location to be used with it.

Mp3 files in Finder doesn't show all the Cover Art

Recently I buy some new tracks but when I add the cover with ID3 Editor (or iTunes), I can't see the covers of the files in the Finder. Moreover when you copy & paste a MP3 with an available cover, it will disappear. I find it very annoying. I made a clean install for OS X Lion and I don't understand what's happen Maybe a bug ? I didn't had this problem with my Snow Leopard...

I have had the same issue ever since Lion. Its been very painful not having album art preview in finder or the play button when rollover the file for so many versions of OSX. Today I worked hard in trying to solve the problem since Applecare support hasn't helped much, all they did was tell me to bring the computer in. The other main reason I got so motivated to try and fix this is because the DJ app for Mac only reads album art from the finder even if iTunes can display the album art. The other reason that got me curious is that my friends macbook pro album art worked fine, so I cross checked with his computer until I figured out a few things that helped and ultimately fixed the issue. FINALLY!
My set up:
- I have my full iTunes library folder on my external as I have over 700GB of music.
- It includes all my database files in there, which is very important as I have many playlist settings from over 7 years of iTunes activity.
SOLUTION:
1. With every new computer I have purchased, I use to just pressed option on Mac and press iTunes to locate my folder (which I have said is located on my external drive).
2. I tried today to press option again BUT locate and selected the default library in the user/music folder of my internal drive (standard setting from Apple).
3. Miraculously, all the album art appeared in both my external drive library and also today's downloaded songs on my Macbook pro. Ofcourse with the new default location I don't have any songs or data.
4. So I tried to find a way to keep this library data on my internal drive since it can help the finder display all my files properly, yes even have the play on rollover button but as well link it back to my external drive with all my 700GB songs.
5. I then went into iTunes Preferences/Advance tab and in iTunes Media folder location redirected the location to my external drive iTunes/ iTunes Media folder. If it asks to collate data, press NO.
6. Then I quit iTunes.
7. Next I copied the 4 files to my desktop from my external drive as I want to keep the data I have made with all my playlists etc. The four files are iTunes Library Extras.itdb , iTunes Library Genius.itdb , iTunes Library.itl , iTunes Library.xml
8. I then went to my internal drive User/Music/Itunes/ and dragged these 4 files I copied from my external drive into here and making sure to REPLACE the four existing files already there.
9. Next open iTunes and you will find all your presettings appear with all your music linked to your external. What this does is keep the important library files on your internal drive (that somehow makes your finder files album art appear), BUT to read also all the music mp3 files located in the external drive (action from step 5)
Presto!! All your music files whether on internal drive or external all the album art has appeared.

The cover art is missing on my playlists songs, but not for songs in the cloud on my iphone 5s

Ever since I updated to iOS 8, not 8.0.2 (still haven't done that update), the artwork on my music is missing for any songs that are on my phone and in my playlists. My music that is stored in the cloud still has its cover art. All of the songs still play, but I really want the artwork back.

I am not sure how many of you had to re-os, power off multiple times, or restore. So, try these and hit 'like' and/or 'This solved my question' or 'This helped me', if it works as explained below.
What you do on the iTunes is what appears on iPhone. Artwork missing in iPhone is unlikely, if iTunes on PC has them. I am going to be very simple in writing, for everyone to understand as clear as possible. Follow the below steps -
1. Go to iTunes (On PC). Right Click and select 'Get Info'.
2. If any error message gets displayed there, try to play it once or locate that song manually, if you have recently changed the location.
3. Select 'Artwork' tab and ensure the artwork is still there.
4. (Here is the funny part) - Go to 'Info' tab (the tab between 'Summary' and 'Video')
5. Ensure for any particular song, the following values are always captured -
a) Name -
b) Artist -
c) Album - (Most of us tend to delete this album data, to avoid seeing duplicate of the name or artist)
Eg. On my iTunes (PC), a song is categorized -
a) Name - Bad Day (Ladies and Gents - I did not purposely select this song )
b) Artist - Daniel Powter
c) Album - Bad Day
Try the above simple step and see if it works. If not, reply back to me and mention the exact error message. Can try to help.
