Playing video A, then looping video B

Hello there.
Pretty new with flash in video.
I have two video footage pieces we shot.
I need to be able to play the first video (from beginning to
end) and then I need the second video to loop automaicly.
The videos are FLVs (with alpha channel, but i guess it won't
effect the answer...)

Up front I would say the short answer is "no"... but the long answer is "sort of".
Replicators are part of the Fractal "arsenal" and Motion definitely has those, but I think you would be very hard pressed to come anywhere near the type of fractal imaging as in the Electric Sheep example.
I was able to squeeze the following out of Motion (the base element is a simple square), but by the time it got this far, Motion wouldn't play faster than about 1 frame every 5 or so seconds. At a certain point, you end up having to render movie files in order to see it in action (and that took Motion about 8 minutes for a 12 second project [09 iMac i7].) [If you're interested, I posted a short video of these here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6Fe_ydfAss. The segments are longer than 12 seconds each because these are designed to loop @12 seconds and each one was looped more than once.]

If you have a faster mac than mine, you might be able to do more than this... and you really don't have access to the Maths that fractal apps have, so depending on your creativity for devising the "root" motif element you may (or may not) be disappointed in what Motion has to offer (it *will* try your patience!) If you would like to experiment anyway, I will explain some of the techniques I used for the above (which are, at best, rudimentary!) Once you get the basics down, you should be able to take off in your own directions.

How do you play a Flash video and then close the player?

I have a splash page that plays a .swf. At the end of the
video the home.html page is opened. As/after the home page launches
I want to play a Flash video and then have the player close.
I am willing to trade wife, children or beagles for the info.

Are these two separate browser windows? One for the Flash
.swf and a different window for the home.html document? Is this
correct:
1. show .swf in one window,
2. open new, second, window with home.html
3. show second .swf in first window
4. close first window when second .swf finishes
If this is the scenario, then no, you can't reliably close
the first window. You can use Javascript to close a browser window,
but, if that window wasn't opened using Javascript, then it may not
close gracefully, or in the case of IE, may display a prominent
error message.

I would recommend deleting the affected movie from your iPad, and redownloading the movie.

As far as I know, PPro does not have that capability
If you were creating a DVD in Encore, you could put an "end action" on the video timeline to itself... so at the end of the DVD video it would go back to the beginning
I am not aware of any way to do that for a simple file

1 video stream 3 sequences in there, how to play 1 chapter then return

I have one 10 min video stream made of 3 sequences from fcp, I have set the chapter points and have 3 buttons on the menu. I need it to press button one, play track one then return to menu. Then press button 2 that should play chapter 2 then return to menu and so on for button 3. ( return to menu )
For the life of me I can see or know how to do this? Anyone got any ideas?

Set the end jumps for the tracks (if seperate tracks) to the menu, otherwise the end jump for the markers to return to the menu (if all on same track and you do not need a play all function)

Play looping video when powered on

I want to use an iPod as a video playback device in an installation. It will play a looping video continuously. I would like it to begin doing this when powered up, is there a way?

It's probably Protected Mode or Enhanced Security blocking your ability to:
1. Reach the URL
2. Open the player required to play the video
3. Or Both
You can try disabling both as a test to find out.

Download first 25% of video and then rest if user presses play.

I have a site where they insist to have video play on the home page, but now went over bandwidth this last month. Is there any way I can have the video download part way and then if the user presses play the rest of the video downloads? Right now I am using the FLV Playback componet to display the video.

Tried to play video..then blackedout and wont turn on now

i put a video on my ipod and went to play it and then may screen went black. the only thing that it will do is when i plug it in to the computer, a battery with a lightning bolt will come on (not flashing). then when i unplug it, a battery with an exclamtion mark will come on then fade away to black again. what should i do?

Menu video no longer loops in DVDSP 4.03?

I have a demo (last opened 11/29/02 with DVDSP v4.0.2) that has a song as the primary focal point of the main (1st) menu. Song is 2:32:12. The two drop zone video files – one is 11:11 long, the other is 37:08 long – used to loop and start over when they reached their end in the last DVDSP v4.0.2. When the song repeated after it reached its end, the two drop zone video files would reset to their beginning and the cycle would repeat.
Now, since the 4.0.3 upgrade, the two drop zone video files play only once, then just sit on their last – black – end frame. They do not repeat anymore.
I checked in the inspector for the menu itself, and it is set to “At End – Loop,” which, of course means that the song will loop when it gets to its end.
I looked in the prefs to see if there was a new option designation for this situation that used to work fine in 4.0.2, but no longer works in 4.0.3. There was none.
I reset the asset of the shorter file Contents 2 window to none, then re-drug (re-dragged) the file into the drop zone to see if that would fix the problem. It did not.
I would hate to have to shorten the menu loop repeat length to the shorter of the two drop zone videos – music repeating from the begging every 11:11 seconds would be extremely annoying.
Has anyone else seen this or something similar since the 4.0.3 upgrade? Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file that stores the "Saved Form" data.<br />
Rename or delete formhistory.sqlite (plus formhistory.sqlite-journal and formhistory.sqlite.corrupt and formhistory.dat, if they exist) in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case there is a problem with the file that stores the "Saved Form" data.<br />
This will remove all saved form data, so you may want to rename formhistory.sqlite to formhistory.sqlite.sav or move the file to another folder in case you need to recover some saved data.
You may also need to delete search.sqlite and search.json in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]

Can you loop video forever as a menu background, but audio only once?

I'm wanting to make a menu that has a video background and plays music as soon as the DVD starts up, but I want the music to stop after it plays through twice and the video to continue to loop.
I know I could do this by setting a loop point, but I don't want the user to have to sit and wait the first time the music plays before they can select a button.
Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for the reply, but I don't think either of your solutions will achieve the result I'm wanting. I want to loop the AUDIO just once (it plays two times after the menu comes up), but I want the VIDEO background to continue to loop forever. I also want the user to be able to make a menu selection at any time, including right when the menu first appears.
If I set a loop point, it makes the menu unusable until that loop point is reached the first time.
I was thinking I could do this with two menus. The first menu would have the audio and video and only loop one time, then its end action would send it to another menu that looks exactly like the first, but only has the video looping on it. The only problem with this solution is that if the user moves their selection to something other than the default button, it will jump back to the default button when it goes to the second menu (or whatever button the "end action" is set to on the first menu).
Would there be a way to have the first menu jump to the identical second menu and stay on whatever button the user currently has highlighted?

To create a OneStep DVD:
Connect your DV camcorder to your computer and set the camera to VTR, VCR, or Play mode. Turn on your camcorder if it doesn't turn on automatically.
Open iDVD and click the OneStep DVD button. (If iDVD opens to a recent project, choose File > OneStep DVD.)
Insert a recordable DVD disc.
iDVD rewinds the tape in the video camera and captures the video.

To burn a OneStep DVD from a folder:
Choose File > "OneStep DVD from Movie."
Locate the movie you want to add in the dialog that opens, then click Import.
Insert a blank DVD disc into the optical drive.
This kind of disc is sometimes called "kiosk mode" and is a good way to create demos or other presentations that play automatically and require no user interaction.

You need the autoplay and loop in the video part of the code like this:

How ever I do this in a completely different way 1st I set up a Html page holding the video and the code then I embed the video into Edge with an Iframe like so:
