Playing videos and other content from my Lenovo Tab A8 to my Samsung SMART TV
Hi,I've a Lenovo Tab A8. I also bought a Samsung SMART TV recently. I want to connect my Tab to my TV so that I can share and watch the Tab's contents on the large screen wirelessly. I tried many different apps but they did not help. Is there anyway this can be done? Would be great if you can let me know. Thanks Tashfin
On my A7-30, I turn on my Screen Mirror function on my TV and then turn on the "Cast Screen" function on my phone. It will then connect.

With wi-fi sync, can I select video or other content from my mac to sync to my iPad?
While using my iPad, is it possible to select content (video, music, etc) that resides on my mac to then be transferred via wifi to my iPad? I understand wi-fi sync will automatically (or manually) sync my ipad with my itunes on my mac based on the settings in itunes, but is there a way to manually select some content to sync without having to go back to itunes to make that change?

If you're at all familiar with the cable sync, the WiFi sync is identical with one exception...
If configured for WiFi sync, IOS updates are only via the IOS device.
It's actually quite slick. Typically, I plug my iPad into a wall socket at the end of the day. Then, I fire up my Mac and check to see how lousy my 401K looks. My iTunes opens automatically upon login (configured via System Prefs) and the iPad sync is performed in the background. -

they want to utilize those. We also have images and

products that they could also utilize.
This is the question.
Besides just handing them a disk, using IFrames or just
linking to a
page that is hosted on our domain, I'm looking for
suggestions for how
to share content. What other solutions have you seen?
Are there any new solutions out there?
Are RSS Feeds a good option? What is an advantage of an RSS
feed. (I
have not created one)
I just want to make sure that I can offer them the full
spectrum of
possibilities.

Have Corp site subscribe to your news feeds. When your feeds
change so do
the links on their site.

I did find an error log related to the error code and tried all suggestions on the list of recommendations, still no luck
I definitely am running OS X10.5.8 (hopefully will be updating later on this month)
I tried several brand new discs from the same box, still no luck.
My last option is to go out and try a different brand, guess I'll go with Verbatim this time but I think I'll poke around some more before buying 20 more new discs. -

You don't have to shut down the computer to switch accounts. All you do is click the Apple symbol in the upper left and choose Log Out and that's it. You can also set up Faster User Switching by:
1. Open System Preferences - Accounts
2. Click Login Options
3. Check the box called "Show fast user switching menu as" then choose from either icon, short name or name.
Then when someone wants to switch users they can. The advantage of this method is if you are have a document open and don't want to close it the document will remain open. If the other user attempts to shut down the computer they can't until you have logged out thereby saving all your data.
A very simple and elegant solution. -
I am having problems with video and high content webpages freezing. I am also getting pixel lines across my webpages. Maybe two or three lines. I was running os 10.4 but I just up graded to 10.6 the other day. I have 2GB of RAM.

Unfortunately that is not all that uncommon for the Early Intel iMac's given there age and the fact that the air intakes are probably choked with dust. Then add the extra heat caused by running a more intense OS X which is causing it to run a little warmer than normal and putting extra stress on the graphic and display components.
My 6½ year old 17" Early 2006 Core Duo w/2GB of RAM is also running 10.6.8 and is also starting to get a single line that (knock on wood) goes away after a few minutes, while many others started getting permanent ones after 2 or 3 years. One thing that I think has helped, is that about every 3 or 4 months I shutdown and vigorously vacuum out the bottom grill work and small vent under the stand to keep it running cool.
On that note: unfortunately I can only suggest that you clean your intake vents and hope that no permanent or irreversible damage has been done. -
The video and sound was working on my computer two days ago (and has ALWAYS worked on my computer since purchasing it in 2010) but now for some reason I can't play video and there is no sound. I updated software today. Still sound & video not working.

How do I stop Firefox from playing video after I navigate from the page or leave Firefox?
Simple and annoying. . Extremely frustrating issue with Firefox for Android. ..
I watch a YouTube video or any flash video. . And after I hit play, the ONLY way to stop it is to hit pause or let it play to the end or close the tab. .
It will NOT automatically stop if I open another tab. or if I navigate from Firefox. .
I feel this is a very basic feature. Did I set something up that was wrong?

How come although iPads are getting more powerful, the iOS apps from apple are so mediocre and just not that great? We spend all this money for the latest ipad and all we get is these $5 video and music apps from apple. Why create the iOS platform and only offer so so apps like IMovie and GarageBand ? While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.
First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -

Composite AV Cable will play video and audio, but not music
I just bought an Apple Composite AV Cable to use with my iPod touch 3rd gen. It will play videos and the accompanying audio through the TV with no problems, but it will not play just music. What's the deal?
No. However, you can get a cable from the headphone jack to an audio input for your TV.

Lock screen while playing videos and music?

This is an old iPhone I use to play videos and music for my daughter (2 years). She watches the video, but tends to too=uch the screen because that's what kids do. Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value). You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these). Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above. As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library.
