Playing videos in apple website.

I can't open videos from apple website, it asks me to download quick time which is built in my macbook, then it asks me to update software, when i tried to do so, i got a message that everything is up to date?

UPDATE - we went to the nearest Apple Store today, and played with 6 different MacBook Airs, and found this problem on FOUR of them. They couldn't play the videos on the Apple website. This stumped the sales staff until one of them went into Safari's File menu, selected "Reset Safari", then re-booted ... and it worked!
Came home, did the same thing ... it worked.
So now my question is: why does "Reset Safari" clear this up?

Usually, that's due to a DivX plug-in or Safari extension... start with Safari - Preferences - Extensions & switch them off. If nothing there, see Safari - Help - Installed Plug-ins & note any that are for DivX.

I can't load the videos from apple's very own website. the error message that came up was 'the file you are trying to play has failed to finish downloading and can no longer play' (DivX Plus Web Player).
I do not face this problem from other sites.
Please help and I truly appreciate!

It looks like you have added a 3rd party video app that is interferring with QuickTime, which should be the internet plug-in that is used to play videos on Apple's website.
I would get rid of any extra things like DivX Plus Web Player and install Perian and Flip4Mac, maybe Silverlight. Those are just about the only extra things you need to augment QuickTime.

Not able to play video directly from websites like metacafe in safari browser

I recently purchased an iPhone 4S however I am not able to play videos directly from websites like metacafe.com and all others. Whereas few of my friends who bought iPhone 4S / 5 (factory unlocked) versions can very well play videos from all websites. Whenever they browse videos, it start streaming on their phones and stArt playing in QuickTime player. What is the reason of this behavior, is there something missing in my iPhone?

When I play video clips from websites like Prescreen the sound is loud enough to hear w/out headphones. When I play my own professionally mastered video I have to wear head phones to hear loud enough. Is there a trick in Compressor or other software?

Not even close to good enough, LCD screen will crack, water will go in through the jack/charger ports..
The phone i describe has no external ports just 4-5 little pins which can't let water in or out of the device, the docking station will connect via these 4 - 5 pins for data transfer and recharging...., IPX8 standard, all the electronics are epxoyed with a glue to stop real bad shocks from drops and bangs, along with a silicon case and all the other preventative meausres means this little phone is going to outlive you.
in combination with heart rate external bluetooth connection, really what more could you want... only the Sonim comes close in terms of perfection but if it managed to pack all of above, then it would be simply wow... If you mean "can I play a video file's video part via AppleTV and the audio part via the Macbook" then the answer is no.
You could probably play the video on AppleTv and also play it on the Macbook and output the audio, but you would have to do this manually, and 2 applications accessing the same video file might cause stuttering playback issues. Additionally you'd have to manually sync the audio and lip sync problems are annoying at the best of times.
If you mean "can I watch a video from AppleTV and play separate music via iTunes on the Macbook", then the answer is yes.

Quicktime X wont play videos on apples website only audio

I downloaded the DivX codec to try and watch a movie for school, then i tried watching the iPhone 4 video on Apple's website and it wouldn't play, then i uninstalled it and tried watching the video again and it would only play the audio and NO video
Please help!!

Safari preferences / Extensions tab
Uninstall DivX, quit and relaunch the browser, and try the page again.

Viewing Videos on Apple Website

When I try to watch a video posted on the Apple Website, like a guidance of the Mac system, the video "box" just turns green. The sound works fine - but without video that doesn't help much.

Safari Not Playing Videos On Some Websites?

On many websites like CollegeHumor for example Safari isn't playing the videos, it will play videos fine on Youtube though. I don't have Adblock enabled, I have Java & Javascript enabled. Using the latest version of Safari, everything up to date.

I understand - but do they play in a New or Guest user account ? since this would indicate that the problem lies somewhere in the usual account, rather than being a system-wide issue.

Cannot play video on Apple TV after iO7 upgrade

I upgraded my iPod Touch to iOS7.
I found that "Music" does not suppot playing video from playlist "Music Videos" on apple TV.
It send to Apple TV audio only
I can use "Videos" but this application does not support playlist and I must manually select files.
Do I miss something ?

Neither Safari nor Fox will allow the playing of videos even after installing, uninstalling and reinstalling flash.
