Playing videos on IPhone

I have synced photos and videos to the phone via ITunes. It shows that there are 10 videos on my phone, but does not display them so that I can play them on my phone. Anyone no how to display the videos?

i tried using mpeg-streamclip to convert .avi files to iphone mpeg4 files. i choose the itunes option and then the iphone option. the conversion almost always fails !!!!
if it is working regularly for you can you tell me what i may be doing wrong???
are there specific settings in addition to choosing video for iphone that i need to enter before i start the conversion ???
-very frustrated with mpeg thus far.

3) What kind of network connection you are using (GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN/Wi-Fi)?
4) In which country are you in (in case you're in a country where YouTube access is restricted)?
5) If you use a specific app, does the access work better with some other app (e.g., if you use some web browser, does it also fail if you use another browser)?

Create a smart album with the following criteria:
Filename contains .m
This will group all of your movie/video files together, .mov, .m4v, and mp4. Then check to see if the lates videos are included. If the are Command (right) - click on one of the videos and select Show Event from the contextual menu.
The the videos are not in the library launch Image Capture (located in the Applications folder) and use it to manually upload the videos to a folder on the Desktop. From there import them into iPhoto.

made a video on iphone and synced to iphoto on imac. I can view the video on my mac but they do not sync to my ipad or to apple tv. do the videos need to be converted? should be seemless if the video is recorded on an apple device.

I am trying to download a video (that I have downloaded from youtube) through itunes, but unable to do so. The file xtn of the video file is .flv and I have tried " add file to library" and "add folde to library".
Let me know how I can save this video in the iphone. Of course, I can play this video directly through youtube when I am connected to the network.

Playing video from iPhone 4 on PC

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for a fix. I have been able to transfer both pictures and video from my phone to my PC without problem. The videos have the quicktime thumbnail but if i try to play it with quicktime the sound is ok but all I get are blocks of vaious moving colours. I have tried downloading new codecs with no effect. By chance I found that the video will play in realplayer but nothing else. Ultimately i want to be able to edit the video. I am quite happy to buy Quicktime pro for PC but don't want to do this will also not play the video.

Hi many thanks for your help. Unfortunately I have already tried both those solutions with no joy. The files are opened by the soft ware but when it plays the video it is just blocks of colour but the sound plays ok.

There is not a Flash Lite version that is compatible with the iPhone at the present time so if a website video is provided with Flash, you can't watch it.
Apple is releasing an iPhone SDK - software developers kit in February which reportedly Adobe is waiting for to provide a Flash Lite compatible version for the iPhone which is the company responsible for this.
If website content is provided with or supports being viewed with QuickTime, you can watch it.

1. Connect the iPhone through standard USB connector cable.
2. In iTunes, select your iPhone icon from the left hand side.
3. You should see iPhone info in the main window on the right.
4. Click the 'Video' tab from the top of the main window.
5. Select how you want the TV shows synced.
6. Press 'Sync' or 'Apply' on the bottom right.

what is the easiest way to get video clips onto the iphone from iphoto? keeps on saying cannot play video on iphone. tried putting in itunes and that didnt work either. video is from a flipvideo, goes automatically into iphoto, can easily put into imovie or itunes if that helps, any other suggestions would be great. iphone is a 3GS

Once converted, add it to your itunes library & from there you can sync to your phone. Handbrake can do the conversion for you automatically & has presets for the iphone:

IPhone 4: connecting to TV for the 1st time with new "Composite AV Cable" only plays sound, not video on TV. However, this new cable works fine with old iPod to play videos on TV. Suggestions?

I'm trying to connect my iPhone 4 to my TV to play videos via use of a new "Composite AV Cable" but only sound will play off TV, not video. I've tried every yellow/red/white input on the TV but to no avail. Any suggestions?

The iPhone 4, unlike iPod, doesn't ask you to set for PAL or NTSC. In fact, in the SETTINGS/Video menu it only asks if you want to "Start Playing From Beginning", "Closed Captioning" and "Home Sharing". I was surprised it had no settings like the iPod at all.

I appreciate what you are both saying -- but it is not the music that is the problem. The video itself is NOT blocked - you can view it on a computer -- but when you try to view it on ipad/iphone the message says, "not available on this platform".
