Playing Videos on the Iphone

Hello,
Hopefully someone here can help me answer my questions. I deffinetly hope so.
I recently purchased an iPhone and created a couple movies (short, about 15-30 seconds) and put them on my webserver. I was able to play the movies fine via the iPhone, however if I password protect a folder that contains the movies I get an error message on the iPhone saying 'error playing movie'.
Their is no error authenticating when I attempt to go to the folder (brings up username and password screen, and allows me to go to the next page). I just can't play the movies if they are password protected.
Any help would be awesome.

Did you play the video on wi-fi? And if so, it should stream HD video.

Ok, I want to connect my iPhone 4S to a projector via a HDMI cable. I will be playing a sequence of videos from the iPhone, so need to be able to skip through them when they're done, but WITHOUT any icons showing on the projector screen (if that makes sense! it's in a gig/onstage scenario). What's the best app for me to do this? If I did it in iTunes (under Movies) would the play/pause/forward icons be visible on the projector screen when I skip through to the next video?

Can I purchase a cable or connector that will allow me to not only listen but view a video from the iphone to my tv or computer monitor? Where do I purchase such a cable? Thanks

Playing Video on the iPhone while it is locked

im currently using the iphone 4 with firmware 4.3
Not to long ago, i was able to play video when my phone is locked or doing other things.
what i mean by that is...
while locked
1. i have a video running
2. i lock the phone while video is running (this cause the video to pause)
3. i then double click the home button to access the ipod controls
4. hit the play arrow and ill have the audio for the acutal video.
or while doing other things

2. i hit the home button (this cause the video to pause but phone not locked)
3. double click the home button and scroll to the left to get the ipod controls

But recently this feature does not workk anymore. the reason why i do this is because i have music video which i like to listen too, and can always jump back in the watch the ones i like. and for other video which has a lot of audio (russel peters!)
does anyone know of a fix to this? i really liked this feature but aint working for me anymore. i have to leave ipod running on my iphone and cannot lock it.
im am not sure if upgrading to the firmware of 4.3 caused this because i dont know when exactly the feature stopped.

Hi,
I found a solution. Go to itunes and change the classification of your videos from "movie" to "music video".
1. Go to iTunes and find the video(s) you want to change and right-click on it with the mouse and select "Get Info".
***To change multiple videos at once, highlight all the videos then right-click on them.
2. Go to the Options tab and look for the entry called Media. Then select music video.
3. It will take a minute or so for each video to update the media type.
You can highlight mulitple videos and do it all at once. Once you change the classification, your videos will move into the music section of iTunes. No need to change your playlists, they will work properly after you sync your iphone.
Keep in mind that you will also see the same videos under the video section labeled music video on your iphone. If you play from here, you can't play it when the screen is locked. It will only play while the screen is locked if you play it from your playlist or if you click on the video under the music sections (Playlists, Artists, Songs)

Trying to play videos from my iPhone, i.e; news videos and TED videos. Can hear audio but can not see the video.

I have synced my iPhone 4S with iTunes and I got an error while copying one movie. Now this movie shows up grayed out in videos on the iPhone but NOT in iTunes. Hence, I cannot delete this partially copied movie from my iPhone. And since it is grayed out, the right-to-left swipe does not work. I have resynced with "no movies" option so that every movie would be deleted and indeed every movie was deleted except for the problematic one. I rebooted the iPhone several times in case it was a glitch. No success. I even tried tools like iExplorer and DiskAid but I cannot find this **** file. Is there any way to delete this partially copied file from the iPhone without having to restore it?

You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.

Reinstall iTunes. Make sure you follow the instructions in this support document to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet.

I have been successfully using my Apple TV with my iPad2 to access Netflix through airplay (mirroring) and suddenly it won't work. It says "the connected display is not supported" What's up?
Also when I try to stream Netflix through my Apple TV menu on my television it says "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later. But trying again later doesn't work any better.

HT201177 I can't play videos on the web - they just stall - stop and start.

when I am playing videos on the web, Vimeo for example, they play for about one or two seconds and stall. Then they play another one or two seconds and so on for the entire video. I have no means of changing the download size in safari preferences. I am at a loss what to do. i know of no-one else with this difficulty and the Microsoft laptop on the same broadband router dos not have this problem.

Empty the Cache, and you can also try the RE-SET Safari option from the menu-bar.

Ziatron is correct that Flash does not work on an iPad, but it does work on a Mac. See Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.160.

I have an iPhone 4 and a iPad 2. On both devices I have iMovie. Many times I take video with the iPhone as it's more handy but it's harder to edit it on it.
I would like then to transfer the movie to the iPad to edit it using iMovie.

Import the movie from your iPhone's Camera Roll with your computer followed by transferring the movie from your computer to your iPad via the iTunes sync process - selected under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes.
