Playing videos using buttons created in Shockwave

Hi,
i have created a 3D image in 3D studio max and i have
exported it as a Shockwave file to run in Director. This 3d image
has buttons that i have created, and i want to be able to click on
these animated buttons and play different videos. I have been able
to get the buttons to press, however i cannot work out how to get
them to play a video once i have clicked them within the shockwave
file.

I just wanted to make sure that my movie collection saved in TC can be airplayed to the ATV (even without internet connection) without putting the movie collection back to iTunes cause it eats out the MBP's HDD.
Here is my actual setup:
I have a separate wireless from my ISP which I use for internet connection which is setup in another room. Becasue of limited space I purchased the TC just for wirelessly backing up my MBP. I did not configured my TC to be connected to the internet. I use the TC's wireless just for data transfer. The ATV is connected to the internet thru the wireless of my ISP. I also configured the ATV to connect to the TC so that both MBP and ATV will be on the same connection and can airplay my MBP. If I need internet connection for my MBP and ATV I simply switch back to the wireless from my ISP and no problem with it cause it can aiplay everything from my desktop to playing music and movies/videos. My only concern is when I switch to the TC's wireless (which is not connected to the internet) to access my movies it will not show up in ATV when played using QT. Everything shows up in the ATV when my MBP is mirrored except when I play my movie collection.
With HDCP in mind that might be the cause, is there any other way I can airplay my movie collection in my TC without putting them back in my MBP?.

CS4 using a Mac and want to play video using windows media player

Hi I am having issues with file types to play video back using Windows media player.
I am producing video using Premiere CS4 on a Mac and I need to know what format to use to have the files play in windows media player as .mp4 is not compatable with wm player.

I have Windows Media Player installed on my PC workstation and I do remember installing a codec so that MP4 files could play in WMPlayer 11 on Windows Vista 64-bit (should work on 32-bit also)

Otherwise if you're posting videos on a webpage for example in the mp4 format use the Quicktime html wrapper so that people using Mac's can also view your videos that are encoded for PC's. If you encode in wmv format (Windows Media Video) then provide a link to the "Flip4Mac" application that can use Quicktime on the Mac to play Windows Media Files. I think you can find it on www.mactopia.com .

I have some buttons that go to another position on the timeline where a different object is shown. if the video is playing, it will continue playing even if the user cannot see it. Hence, I want to pause or stop the video.
On the button clcik event I have tried:

Yes, I tried tubeConf, and it doesn't work either.

When I try to play youtube video I get the message of blocked plug-in, and I can not play video using Safari. (Youtube works fine with google chrome) I tried installing flash player HTML5 etc... but still no difference.

I just installed OSX Mountian Lion, and ever since then I can not play youtube video's. I get the message of 'Blocked Plug-in' in the youtube screen. I have tried installing Adobe Flash Player. HTML 5, also tried enabling/disabling java, but nothing worked out. Is there any way I can play youtbe vieos on Safar. (It works fine with Google Chrmoe, only safari has problem)

If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
Try uninstalling the currently installled Flash plugin (required for most YouTube content) then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the menu bar click Develop > Empty Caches

Is there a way to customize that button yet? In the beginning stages of FCServer, I remember it only allowed you to play the clip proxy. I'd REALLY like to have the ability to click the button there for original media and maybe another button for clip proxy. Have they done this yet? I figured I'd ask here before calling someone at Apple.

I do know about the right click/control click and selecting view. It's just that it seems to involve so many steps. Would be nice while searching lots of media to have the ability to play either the clip proxy or original media with 1 click.

Firefox will not allow me to play any kind of video. It just won't play since I did the last update. I'm not a good computer fixer upper. So I need simple, easy to follow instructions.

C# Playing Video From A Memory Stream Using DirectShow (quartz.dll).

I have a C# Visual Studio WinForms app that plays video using the QuartzTypeLib (quartz.dll). With the code I've written, I can play any video file from the hard drive. Here's the code at the top that executes when the app starts:

You should be able to do it by developing a plug-in for the existing DShow filter. For instance, wmv files are being opened/read with the "WM ASF Reader" filter. You can register your own protocol and implement your own plug-in for that protocol
(e.g. you could name it 'memory', and your URL would look like
memory://something.wmv). You can register your protocol under the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\memory\Extensions] by creating a new string value with the file extension as a name (.wmv). The value is the WM ASF Readers's
GUID ({187463A0-5BB7-11D3-ACBE-0080C75E246E}).
You also need to register your plugin that will be used for a wmv file when used with the 'memory' protocol.
In [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media\WMSDK\sources] create a new string value with the protocol name and the value is a path to you DLL plug-in. Your plug-in must implement the IStream interface. The plugin DLL exports a single function:
HRESULT WMCreateStreamForURL( LPCWSTR pwszURL, BOOL *pfCorrectSource, IStream **ppStream )
MSDN can provide more info on WMCreateStreamForURL() and plugins in general.
Once you do that, what will happen is this: each time you open a file like "memory://myfile.wmv", the WM ASF Reader filter will load your plugin, call WMCreateStreamForURL() and it will use your custom IStream object for all read/write operations.

Issue with playing video on 4400g

Hello, guys. I'm using dmps 4400G, almost all of them are running under 5.2.3 software version.. I wish some of my DMPs (standalone) to start playing video file in loop. Used a html script to do it for 5.2.1 - everything works properly. But under 5.2.2 or 5.2.3 i have some problems while playing video using the same script.
I followed next:

So when under 5.2.2 or 5.2.3 video suddenly stops playing, DMP and Monitor state becomes off. After that player starts playing video again. And at the same moment it stops again. Red light indicates that DMP tries to obtain an IP-address via DHCP, but DHCP is disabled (static IP is used).
Also I have a problem with image. When I want from my DMP in standalone mode to show an image using hmtl script, it just shows nothing (and red light is on).
How can I rectify this? Or maybe there is another way to play file in loop at 5.2.3 software version. Do not want to downgrade.

Cannot play videos.

I CAN play videos using popular sites such as youtube/amazon/hulu, but whenever I try to go to any other site for video hosting it just sits at the buffer screen and will either load after fully buffering, or most likely never play at all. I have tried deleting everything flash related and reinstalling but the issue persists. I know this is not a network issue because I am able to connect my netbook to the network and do everything fine.

This error normally indicates an issue with the DNS resolution that, in turn, breaks the URL rewrite feature.
Are you by any chance using "vportal" as part of the Show and Share FQDN? If so, you are hitting CSCtj51813. The solution would be to change the hostname in Show and Share and re-pair it with the DMM.
If you are not using "vportal" as part of the hostname, I would recommend you to access the video once more using a HTTP inspector in your laptop to get some more details on what is really happening. To check the HTTP headers, the easiest would be using Firefox with a plugin installed (you can use "firebug", "Live HTTP headers" or similar ones)
